Spirit Adrift - Divided By Darkness, 2019 CD Album      20 Buck Spin - SPIN115 I discovered this band with this third album of theirs and despite the silly artwork a large smile of satisfaction has occupied my face since. This is golden heavy metal of the doom sort in the vein of recent masters like Crypt Sermon or old ones like Solstice. If large metal with a propensity for slowness, a great deal of guitar work and haunting melodies is your thing, think no more and click. The whole thing is more original than this feeble attempt at a description suggests, partly thanks to the excellent singing that subtly differs from what you'd expect in this context and partly because even if Spirit Adrift do not slow down as much as Procession, King Goat or Fvneral Fvkk, they know how to create similarly addictive songs.
