MF were one reason I lost interest in Dickinson era-Iron Maiden. MF provided perfect riffs, higher energy, viciously non-washable melodic seduction, over the top vocals, top notch musicianship and satanic imagery all over the place, why would the wild and financially-limited teenager still bother with the post-Killers bedside stories from the gentle maiden? That first EP (on the The Beginning reissue) and then the immense Melissa reoriented headbangers priorities. Even Venom fans fell for it, we had to. And since there is no bad MF album - there is not even a mediocre MF album, they are all shining diamonds of classic and epic heavy metal - MF is to be considered the black star of classic metal until the end of the metalliverse! The Church of Mercyful Fate lives on forever because we can almost touch perfection and it is a warm feeling. Bang that head and bash it against the cross!
