Dead Horse draws on the classic US hardcore sound with frequent excursions into Wehrmacht's Biermacht and Cryptic Slaughter's Speak Your Peace territory. Bring the metal into the hardcore and let's bang our heads against the wall! The best in this first segment of their output is the second album Peaceful Death, a little treasure of crossozerism. It is fast and obnoxious, even if I would not rank this as high as Beyond Possession or Attitude Adjustment, but you know what I mean. They also released an EP in 2014 and an album in 2017, but I only heard fragments (good ones) - link welcome. The past week was almost postless because my little tag & blog generating tool (the Tagger of Zer) ceased to function due to upgrades in internet communication protocols from Discogs (the database I use to fetch file tags). I fixed it yesterday and in case anyone uses it too, this new 4.3 build is available for general consumption. More rejoicing: today is the tenth anniversary of the first post on this blog. I am older than ever. Death and madness! Also, I decided on this occasion to open the reloads. My favorite here (and everyone's I guess) is the fantastic Peaceful Death and Pretty Flowers - tight, fast and filled with a lot of class and arrangements - faster and more mature than Horsecore, which is a raw little gem too.
