The Rhythm of Creating

Hi Friends

I'm doing some inspirational travel
on this 28th day of my birth month~~

 I will be back soon,
 but till then,
I had to stop in and say hello.

While I love to get out in the world
viewing nature around me,
I realize,
I really don't have to go far
 for the inspiration to create.

Most of the time, it is right here at home.
 Here and there
among the treasures I love,
 the books I read
and the views right outside my window.
So I curl up in a comfy chair to read beautiful words
view gorgeous photos
and settle on thoughts and joys.
Nesting this time of year,
gathering and reflecting on creations that will follow.
Music has always been inspiring to me.
Listening to the rhythm
of beautiful note combinations
seem to show me the way and direction.
It's the harmony and the chords,
the melody
and
the rhythm that speak to my heart.

So I take up my sketch book and draw some thoughts.
As one stroke leads to another,
I put color to my world.
Putting love into the ideas.
Finding Inspiration
doesn't really have to take me too far away.

Where do you find inspiration?
 Far or close by?
Travel or home?
Within your thoughts, music and heart?
~Wishing you joy~

See you when I return!

Thinking Spring

The cold, long winter has
most of us
Thinking Spring~
and it can't get here too soon.

Valentines and Easter Eggs,
Spring Gardens
and
Sunny Days
are my inspiration for creating.

Here are a few new treasures
filling the shelves
in my shop now.

Pretty eggs with roses

and a few with hydrangeas.

And a little Farmhouse too~

A pretty French cottage basket to hold
special treasures

with a pretty fabric lining
and little wood
fleur di lis in the center.

So the creating continues
and
my new monthly newsletter
is on it's way soon.

Thank you for stopping by.

See you soon.

Stay warm

Hugs,
Celestina Marie

Waking to White, Creates a Glove Box Design

Happy Winter here!!

Yes, this is Texas,

 but we woke up yesterday

to a beautiful wintry mix of light snow and very cold temps.

I just had to share a few pics with you.

 Growing up in Michigan,

I am not new to snow and ice,

but living here, it is very rare.

Pretty white snow on the Palm Tree!

The rose arch looks so pretty glittering with light snow.

Almost like it is in full bloom!

Today makes for the perfect day

 for creating.

I finished a vintage glove box with paint,

 lace, trims and crocheted flowers.
These are easy and fun to redesign.

You might remember the tutorial I shared HERE.
By the time I finished this post and glove box,

the snow was gone and only a memory now.

The cold is still here and our weather people say,

Thursday may bring more of the same.

  More creating on the way.

Stay warm!

Happy Winter's Day!

Happy New Year

Dear Friends, it seems 2012 passed all too soon and here we are about to greet a brand new year.
A time for new beginnings and adventure.

It seems I never get everything created that I'd like to for Christmas and my shoppe. And, I always vow to create a little Christmas all year long to stay on track.
However, like every season, that doesn't happen even with a well organized plan no matter how hard I try.

True joy for me is looking forward to fresh starts within my journey. Do you do this too? Excited about going forward?

Getting back in the studio after a little time off to rest my wrists while enjoying my family for Christmas, has been simply wonderful. A little R&R always does one good.

January always brings me inspiration in our home to update the decor too.
Taking down all the Christmas decorations to reveal a clean empty palette, just gives me inspiration going forward.
My dear Mr. Design guy always asks, are we ever done? You notice he says we. Oh I am so thankful for the talent he has to help me try and make our home what it can be.

Christmas 2012 was a special time for my family and I pray it was for you as well.
I am continually thankful for the many blessings God has shared with us.
Thankful for more then I could ever count or name.

Now as I look towards new direction on my creative journey, I am excited about getting busy once again.
Looking to God for the way in which HE would have me to go. Following that path wherever it leads.
Praying for my friends and family in blogland and beyond. You bless me in more ways then I ever thought possible. Thankful for the new friendships made this past year and for the many first friends over the nearly 6 years of blogging. You are all so special.

Time has flown by and here we are approaching 2013.
My prayers will continue, my feet are on the path, the road feels solid and the light is bright. Life will give it's  ups and downs along the way, nothing is perfect. But the journey will continue as we all begin a new year. God Bless.

Wishing You and Yours a Wonderful, Safe, Healthy and Happy New Year.

With Love,
Celestina Marie
