My Christmas Kitchen

 Twas the days before Christmas
      and
            all though the house.
The creatures were stiring
except  this sweet mouse!
The aprons were hung in the kitchen with care,
in hopes that some baking soon would appear!

With the cookie jars full~

And the cabinets all pretty~

The candles were lit,

and Santa was ready!

Our goodies and tea are ready to try~

When we sit at the table and give a sweet sigh.

With light from the windows
and wreaths hung in place,

The kitchen is ready for it's seasonal pace.

With dinners to plan~
and vases to fill,

We'll share all our blessings
and a cup of good cheer!

Throw open the doors to reveal upon high,

Mistletoe waiting for each passer by.

Christmas in my kitchen is special each year
because of the love we find living here.

Like a wreath of good tidings with never an end,
I thank you for coming
and
to you I send~
Big Christmas Wishes
to all my dear friends.

Blessings for your December days,
Celestina Marie

See you soon with more from the library/family room and hand painted Santa's from years past!

Simple Touches of Christmas

Hi Friends~
Hope you're having a good first weekend in December.
When I  shared with you my first post of Christmas decor a few days ago,
we were at the front entryway.

Well, I skipped to the second floor and a few simple touches of Christmas
in my guestrooms.

This room is done in shades of white, cream and neutrals.

The bells are from my vintage collection and I love them with all their aged patina.

This Santa is not old, but he sure looks like some from the 40's.

Sitting atop a white pitcher, is this sweet glittery Christmas bird.

Over the summer Mr. LJ  and I took a drive out to a country yard sale near our home.
I found this great old mantel and placed it in this room.
It's been so fun to decorate.

My guests love to stay in this room.

This Santa is a carved wood figure that I painted many years ago.
He has lots of glitter and looks right at home on the old dresser of white.

This rose colored Santa was another I created from a decorative design nearly 30 years ago.
He is made from a 2x4 with attached arms, face and sack on his back.
I sold so many of these over the years but before I ended creating these, I decided to keep two.
I have another in red, but would love to do these again in white.

I love this cross stitch hand created and framed by my dear friend Stephanie.
Love it!

A bowl filled with door knobs and locks instead of ornaments.

All sits in a tray on the breakfast table in this guest room.

Rag Heart Wreath with a small stocking hangs from an old wardrobe.

Sitting on the bed is a creamy suited Santa.

On the built in writing desk I have a tall angel and vintage framed graphic.

My dearest treasure is this darling musical angel.
She was my  mother's and plays Silent Night.
I can still remember when I was a little girl in the late 60's my mother purchasing this little darling
for 3 dollars to display in our home.
She just loved it ~ and so do I for the beautiful meaning and memories.
She has been well cared for and is in excellent condition.
The  music box still plays beautifully.

I didn't put up a tree in this room this year.
Just kept it light and simple.

Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy the weekend and see you again soon with more from down the hall.

Blessings!

Celestina Marie

Winter White Dreams

There is nothing better then enjoying and being home for Christmas. I love this book for it's inspiration and gorgeous photos. Each year I read it again and always see something new and beautiful.
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. Can you believe Christmas is just a few short weeks away? Time this year has flown by. I bet you are decorating your homes. Over the next few weeks, I will share my home and decor for Christmas.
For nearly a year now, I have been working on my living room redo adding cottage creams, white and neutral color for a calm relaxing sitting room. The fireplace and mantel are the main feature and the rock is white so getting back to a lighter look was my focus.

Earlier, my dear hubby and I painted the walls a darker neutral with chocolate curl under the chair rail, but after living with it for some time, it just was not working, so repainting was in order.

This time I used Heirloom Lace and the softness and color is just plain yummy!! It was fun to decorate this room for Christmas.

I have a tiny white tree here in this room, but my main tree is in the dining room window which is in the front of the house. I will share those pics on another post. Till then, here is a bit of the redesign over the past year and the decorations for Christmas.
I found this dear Santa at a thrift shop. He was in real need of some TLC so home he came and after a redesign and freshen up, he stands with new life on the hearth.
Another gorgeous Santa on my very vintage side hutch was created by my dear friend Marie from Creations from Marie Antoinette and Edie Marie's Attic. This pretty white Santa is dressed in white and pulling a gorgeous swan holding lots of holiday treasures. Behind are white glittery trees. He is so handsome and right at home. Marie is a very talented doll designer. Stop by and say hello.
My beloved piano got a makeover too and painted white. This treasure has been in my life since I was a little girl. Recently, I found a book of Christmas music from 1945 and just loved the arrangements. This great find looks wonderful and ready to play all through the season. I am sure it will be a source for some great sheet music creations too.
Joining today Blissful Whites Wednesday.
Thank you for stopping by. Your visits and comments are always welcome.

Wishing you winter dreams and love for the season.

Merry Christmas with Blessings,
Celestina Marie
