Creative Construction with Blueprints - Star Power

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards (and tags!) in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to either assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches or design an original design combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

Stars will never go out of style. From masculine looks to dreamy scenes, they have a way of adding something special to any project you include them on. Our team loves them too, and in this month’s collection of projects, they’ve used Blueprints featuring stars to craft spectacular looks worthy of any recipient or occasion.

Handmade card by Barbara Anders featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Barbara created a dreamy watercolor background to feature her bold sentiment and glittery stars. Adding the white paint splatter to her night sky really adds to the overall look and makes it appear as though there are hundreds of stars behind her die cut galaxy.

Handmade card by Vika Salmina featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Vika created a circular layering element and added her star frame on top. She accented the focal star even further by adding tiny stars all around the larger one. She completed the card design with a sentiment strip adhered across the star with foam adhesive for added dimension.

Adding a handmade touch is a wonderful way to personalize your thoughtful gifts. Stocking up on holiday tags is a fun, quick, and easy way to prepare for the gift giving season that is about to commence. Join us this month as we look at holiday tags featuring Blueprints.

Handmade tags by Amy Yang featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Amy created a festive collection of holiday tags using the various dies found in the Blueprints Tag Builder 6 Die-namics. Each tag features the adorable critters from the Dashing Deer stamp set in bright, non-traditional holiday colors.

Handmade tags by Donna Mikasa featuring products from My Favorite Things #mftstamps

Donna created a trio of holiday gift tags that feature a cheery red color palette complete with a Christmas lip balm surprise inside. These would be great on gifts, tucked inside stockings or hung on the Christmas tree for someone special.

Congratulations, erin t! You are the randomly selected winner of last month’s Blueprints challenge.

Creative Construction with Blueprints: Right This Way

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards (and tags!) in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to either assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches or design an original design combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

This month, join us as our team explores inventive ways of integrating Blueprints directional elements into their designs. Directional elements range from obvious arrows to simple tags and banners that include a pointed end. They’re a fantastic way to lead your recipient right to the sweet spot of your look.

Barbara created a directional sign on her card using Blueprints 28 that perfectly coordinates with her sentiment and adds such a fun element to her design.

Joy used the two large banners from Blueprints 13 to create directional layers under her scene with a tone-on-tone white background.

Congratulations, Anita Madden! You are the randomly selected winner of last month’s Blueprints challenge.

Creative Construction with Blueprints: Mix it Up

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards (and tags!) in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to either assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches or design an original design combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

This month, join us as our team explores inventive ways of combining elements from a variety of Blueprints into one beautifully put together look. You can go clean and simple with your design or really step it up with an assortment of die cut details.

Our various Blueprints die sets have so many elements that can work together on a card design. Anna combined the stitched circle tag from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 collection with Blueprints 31 to create a fun and unexpected, shaker surprise! The adorable hedgehog images and brick detail on the outside panel complete her sweet look.

There are so many great Blueprints elements layered together on Torico's fall-themed card including a fishtail banner from Blueprints 24 that provides the backdrop for her images. We love how she creatively cut her grass from the same fishtail banner so everything would stack perfectly behind her sweet hedgehogs. A sentiment stamped on a curved banner softens her layers and completes her darling scene.

Congratulations, Sanna! You are the randomly selected winner of last month’s Blueprints challenge.
