Autumn Richness 3 - Berry Panels

This is my last project post for the September 24 challenge at Country View Crafts challenges on FaceBook. Two little panels that grew to four and now five. I've added one more to complete the series.

Here they are as a completed collection.

I made a little torn tab booklet to add them to with some collage paper elements.

Autumn Richness 2 - More Berry Panels

This is my second project for the September 24 challenge at Country View Crafts challenges on FaceBook. Two more little panels that grew to five (one more post to come very soon).

See the first post here - http://www.bumblebeesandbutterflies.com/2024/09/autumn-richness-1-berry-panels.html

I have used Alison Bomber stamps and just love these berries.

The little diecut leaves on the words panel with berries were cut in red textured card and then scribbled with some ground espresso and forest moss distress watercolor pencils over the leaves and stems and rubbed them in. For more details click the link to the first post above.

Autumn Richness 1 - Berry Panels

This is my first project for the September 24 challenge at Country View Crafts challenges on FaceBook. Two little panels that grew to five (more to come later).

I have used Alison Bomber stamps and just love these berries.

Background for book page panels - dipped and dried - gathered twigs DO.  Repeated with tea dye DI and also Hickory Smoke DO. Brayered white gesso randomly and lightly over the top. I then stamped some of the pressed foliage range of Alison's stamps and some little ephemera stamps with walnut stain DI and covered it with a piece of vellum.

Stamped berries with Clair Pinecone and coloured in with wet aged mahogany and candied apple distress watercolor pencils. Cut them out and added to the panels with sme Tim Holtz snippets and leaves diecut from distress inked backgrounds.

The second panel was put together in the same way as the first but included a Tim Holtz die-cut with words from Alison's stamps.

Materials used

Distress Inks & Oxides - Gathered twigs DO, tea dye DI and also Hickory Smoke DO. vintage photo  and ground espresso DIs, scattered straw and aged mahogany DIs.

It's Valentine's Month

This card was made for hubby as well as a new FaceBook challenge at Country View Crafts Challenges where the theme is - 'Love'.

The background was made using Aged Mahogany Distress Stain and Tim Holtz Hearts stencil and created by mono-printing the stencil three times onto the card. Although it looks uneven and very distressed I can live with it as I knew I was going to collage over the top and therefore cover a lot of it up.

This fits an 8x8 card blank.

The ephemera papers are mostly either from Tim Holtz Ephemera packs or cut from his paper pads.

The 3D  heart is cut from Tim's Thinlits Faceted Hearts die and VALENTINE was printed from his Valentine Silhouettes stamp set, laid out on a piece of vellum.

Here you can see how I used the vellum to create that translucent look.

These are some of the embellishing bits collected together.

The Faceted Heart has a small heart punched from one of Tim's punches and stamped with a small text stamp. The stars are also from another small punch by Tim.

Hubbly loves feeding the birds and doing a bit of bird watching from time to time so this paper came in handy.

I'm pretty sure the text letters are from a Tim die. I keep extra die-cuts in a tub so I didn't have to get the Big Shot out. You can also another of the little white hearts placed strategically in a line of hearts where there was a gap.

I also used a Season's greeting die-cut and some small snippets (also all Tim Holtz).

Thanks for stopping by.

The Stamp Man - Vellum

My first week off and I have so enjoyed getting inky and experimenting again.

This is my DT piece for the Stamp Man this week which is to use vellum. Jill kindly sent us some bits and pieces including this stamped image on blue vellum, so it became my focal image for this card.

The pink flower is also vellum which I made from 3 circles. I think I might do a tutorial for it at some point, although I guess most people will know how to make it..

The butterfly is made from 2 Martha Stewart punches punched in white card and distress stains then a glitter embossing powder added.

Please come and join us and show us how you use vellum on your projects. As always Jill will be givng the winner a £10 on-line voucher for her shop.

Supplies -
Tim Holtz - Vintage Shabby Paper Stash
Distress inks - Victorian Velvet, vintage photo, walnut stain
Distress Stains - Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Walnut Stain
Vellum
Embellishments - mosaic tiles, tiny tag, vintage brad, vellum flower, lace, doiley
Martha Stewart butterfly punches

Have a wonderful Easter and happy crafting.

Tag for two challenges

Well I hope the two Lindas don't mind that nearly everyone will combine both the Grungy Monday and the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenges this week as we have a fabulous Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas to follow and make a tag at the same time. What luck.

To see what techniques were used in the making of this tag, take a look at Tim's tutorial and why not have a go yourself - if you haven't already that is.

Supplies used -
Stamps - TH - papillon and artful flight; La Blanche leafy flourish; Rubber Stampede text.
DIs - worn lipstick, weathered wood, stormy sky, vintage photo.
Black, green and burgundy embossing powders.
Vellum and archival ink.

I have the perfect present for this tag and hopefully I will show you some pictures of it - the wedding book project I have been making. I am nearly there.

Just a little reminder that there is an 'Anything Goes' theme over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, unfortunately it hasn't been advertised so we would appreciate anything you could do to get the word out as there are two prizes this fortnight. I hope I will see you there.

Have a fabulous week.

ATC for Scrolls Work

Welcome to my blog. If you are new here I hope you find some inspiration and ideas. To my regular readers thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good week.

On Wednesday I am off to meet another blogging buddy. Lucy at True Colours only lives about 20 minutes away from me, so we are going to meet for coffee in Basingstoke and then do some crafty retail therapy – now that sounds like a good day doesn’t it?

This is a design piece for Scrolls Work and I have used their stamps to create an ATC. Don’t forget all their stamps are 60% off at the moment because they are sadly closing the on-line shop. You might be able to find these stamps still available. I love using these as they stamp so clearly.

Supplies
Alcohol Inks - butterscotch, ginger and copper
DIs - shabby shutters, forest moss, walnut stain
Archival Ink – coffee
Distress Stains - vintage photo, weathered wood, forest moss, walnut stain
TH die - ATC and corners
Scrolls Work stamps – Van Gogh houses and children walking
Gesso
Vellum
P1080180

I started by cutting a vellum and card ATC and brown corners from the die. I used this fabulous tutorial by Kim Dellow to colour up and stamp the ATC  and I tore up some dictionary paper.

P1080179

I covered the card ATC with torn pieces of the dictionary paper and coloured it up with the distress stains. I added some to the path on the vellum.

P1080181

I stamped the image and coloured it using distress inks, then cut it out.

P1080178

These are all the pieces before they have been assembled. My top tip when using vellum is use a glue that dries clear and when securing the vellum to the card, keep the glue under the pieces that have been stuck on the top, that way you can’t see any sign of adhesives anywhere.

Well have a wonderful day and great week and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
