Stamp Man ATC Swap

It's the 1st June, Jubilee month and the theme at the Stamp Man ATC swap is Diamonds for the Queen.

My ATC was made with a spritz and dip background using Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick distress inks. I stamped a Stampendous crown and painted it in with the dusty concord DI and some silver acrylic paint. I added some silver and glittery gems and Beadazzles.

I hope you have a wonderful Jubilee weekend if you are in the UK. We are having a 'street party' style get together tomorrow night in a neighbour's garden and having 'high tea' just to be different! We also have a Jubilee picnic where my son lives on Sunday (if the weather holds).

Ken and I are having our diamond birthday party in July.

Congratulations to our dear Queen Elizabeth for her 60 years reign and many more to come.

Have fun wherever you are in the world this weekend.

The Stamp Man ATC Swap - Hopes and Dreams - and dreams do come true

My hope and dream is to go to Paris. I can't believe I have never been. I studied Toulouse Lautrec at college and even then wanted to go visit the Moulin Rouge and see Les Folies Bergere. I just loved the poster of his muse Jane Avril who was one of the star dancers at the Moulin Rouge in the 1890's.

This is my ATC for the Stamp Man swap and my interpretation of my hope and dream to visit Paris one day.

Supplies
Distress Inks - Seedless Preserve, Dusty Concord, Worn Lipstick, Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire
Stamps - Tim Holtz Mini Classics, Paper Relics Birthday Fortune
Tim Holtz paper stash - Vintage Shabby, Lost and Found

I have decided that I am going to try and make an ATC when I make a card or project, you know what it's like you always have bits and pieces left over, why not use them to make smaller pieces of art? Perhaps you could do the same and enter our swap this month. Pop over to the main blog and see what you need to do, it's so easy.

I wish that your hopes and dreams come true for the month of March.

Let go of the past and go for the future.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
Live the life you've imagined.

Workshop this Saturday at The Art of Craft - We will be making a mini album - photos to follow later.

Update 12.50
This was posted at 12.00 mid-day. How spooky is this???????
My husband rang me at 12.20 and told me I have to keep Friday 17th March clear in my diary. I had arranged to work that day and told him it would be difficult.
My birthday is on the 19th and guess what???????
He has arranged to take me to Paris for the weekend as my birthday present.
He didn't know anything about the ATC - honest.
I am now so excited.

The Stamp Man ATC Swap - Historical Romance

Well where did January go then? It just slipped past so quickly I hardly noticed it. They say time flies when you are having fun, but I am not sure this is really the case.

Anyway - it seems ages since I have made an ATC and I loved making this one - shabby vintage yet again.

The background was made with Starburst Stain and Moonglow sprays and gesso layers, then stencilled over with DI.
(memo to self use heavier weight card next time to prevent any buckling!!)

The image is Graphic 45 Le Romantique set and I have added cheesecloth, lace and other small embellishments to finish it off.

Supplies
Moon Glow - Golden Pumpkin Blush, Phantom Fuchsia.
Claudine Hellmuth Gesso
TH distress inks - Tea Dye, Vintage Photo
Graphic 45 - Le Romantique set
Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Why not pop over to the Stamp Man ATC blog and join in.
You could be the proud owner of a set of ATCs in return.

Have fun.

Stamp Man Recycled ATC

This is my second post for today - to see my New Year wishes scroll down to the previous 2 posts

It's not the actual ATC that I am recycling, but all the elements on it. So if you've still got lots of bits and pieces left on your craft desk why not use them up on an ATC of your own and enter it into the Stamp Man ATC swap for the new year.

I have several ATCs already covered with bits of paper left from projects and given a wash of watered down gesso. So I chose one of those that went with bits of paper, a small rosette not used at Christmas. a TH banner, a butterfly and some leaves just sitting around and feeling very lonely. Put them together and this is the result. The only new thing I used was my Zutter distresser that was a Christmas present from my son and DiL. It really distresses the edges of paper, card, grungeboard, chipboard, in fact you name it, it will probably do it.

Supplies used -
Stamps - small flourish from TH mini classics
TH Rosette die
TH banner die
Crealies leaf die and butterfly die

Happy New Year to one all and I hope 2012 will be a year full of love, happiness and peace.

Stamp Man ATC Swap - 'Tis the Season

This is my first contribution for the Stamp Man ATC swap. I have not made an ATC for years and I have had so much fun playing with these again.

This is my snowflake design. I covered a white ATC with antique linen DI and edged it with vintage photo. I sprinkled water over it to get the falling snow effect. I used TH stamps from the Reindeer Flight and Letter to Santa collection using aged mahogany and forest green DIs. Lastly I embossed the snowflakes with Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder to get that shimmery effect and added them to the ATC with red brads and put some cranberry alcohol ink on them to deepen the colour more. 'Tis the season was made in a word document inked with antique linen and vintage photo and edged with stickles.

Great fun and I had forgotten how quickly you can get pleasure and a feeling of accomplishment by making these.

Come and join us in the swap. All you need to do is make a set of three of the theme for the month and send your swaps, with the correct postage on, in a stamped addressed envelope to arrive by the due date given. See the full instructions HERE. You will then get three swaps back at the end of the month and there is a winner too. Couldn't be simpler. I think I will be joining in with the swap, I would really like to get some little art back from other people.

Have fun.
