2. Stamp images onto tissue paper and tear them out..
3. Tear dictionary pages
4. Modge Podge the images, dictionary text and plain tissue paper over the lid.
5. When dry add more paints around all of these.
6. Stamp flourish around the edges.
7. Glue die cut around the base of the box.
8. Sand corners and edges and add Vintage Photo DI.
Finish by adding embellishments.

Supplies -
Dictionary text
Gold mirri board
Sizzix swirly strip die

If you are altering anything over the next fortnight then do link it to The Stamp Man, you never know you might be the winner of a £10 voucher to the Stamp Man on-line store.

Happy crafting.

Friday evening update -
I altered this box and scheduled the post because I have been away on holiday - photos will be coming -
and I have just got back this afternoon. Suffice to say, I took this with me and it now has a new home at Terry's place in California, where she blogged about it a couple of weeks ago when I met up with her - more on that too to come over the weekend.

Stamp Man - Precious Medals/Metals

My 'Precious Metals' DT piece this week for the Stamp Man is a bound journal with the theme of gold to it. I have stayed away from the Olympic medals, just because I didn't have any inspiration for it. But any metals will be fabulous to see on your projects. The lovely Angela is hosting this week so do pop over and see the amazing samples from the team.

The frame on the front of my book was cut from gold metal sheet, put through an embossing folder. painted with brown acrylic paint, sanded down and gold inka gold rubbed into it. I then added some aged gold embossing enamel on the edge and some on the front and back cover too.

The inspire phrase was cut from gold mirri board stuck onto greyboard and die cut.

I found the words to Spandau Ballet's song and printed out onto paper for the opening of the book and of course other gold can be added when the book is made up.

Just some of the pages

Jill is offering the winner a £10 voucher to spend at the Stamp Man On-line Store, you never know this could be you!

Supplies -
Mixed papers for pages and front cover
Bind It All
Sizzix dies - Ornate frame back #3, phrase inspire
Chocolate acrylic paint, inka gold
Cracked embossing folder
A selection of masks

Have a great weekend.

Celebrations at The Stamp Man

I have a number of birthdays coming up so need to get a wiggle on and get cards made. This was the ideal opportunity to do just that and it is one of those that just seemed to come together so well. Even though I say it myself, I really like this card, and it does look better irl.

I think what made this was the partial colouring in of the flourish. I used Caran D'Ache aquarelle pencils but didn't use the water on them.

Collage style cards have to be my favourite, so I hope you like too.

Come and join the celebrations at The Stamp Man this fortnight and be in with a chance to win a £10 voucher for the on-line store, generously given by Jill (Mrs Stamp Man herself).

Supplies -
Tim Holtz - Shabby French stamp set
Sizzix Book cover 2 embossing folder
Downloaded butterfly
Vintage ribbon
Computer generated sentiment
Lace, button, burlap

Hope your Friday and weekend have started well.

Enjoy yourself and take care.

Summer Colours

Anything goes with Summer Colours at The Stamp Man

My DT offering for the Stamp Man challenge this week is a framed easel birthday card, Brenda style.

I started by painting the stamped image using distress stains and distress markers, leaving it to dry. I made the chipboard backboard, cutting it to the size I needed for this image and the frame to fit. I used texture paste over the frame, daubing it on using a palette knife and adding wooden and small flower embellishments. When it was dry I painted it all with gesso.

The backing paper is a piece Jill sent me, made using moonglow spritzes. I cut and tore the flower image to size, distressing the edges and using frayed burlap DI on them, then with a glue pen added the Frantage embossing enamels, a ribbon and sentiment.

Lastly I painted the wooden embellishments with Distress Stains and when they were dry added clear crackle paint and I painted the frame with DSs and greeny pearl lustre pigment powder mixed.

The frame was added and a TH easel glued to the back to make a card with a difference.

Supplies
Memory Box Pastry Labels
Wooden embellishments
Distress Markers

Well the air show is nearly finished for another two years, this weekend are the public days and we are having a BBQ tomorrow for friends and family to come and celebrate Ken's and my big birthdays and hopefully see some of the flying from the back garden, if it doesn't rain (again).

Have fun this weekend whatever you have planned.

The Stamp man - Time or Travel

The Stamp Man challenge this week is for you to show us any time or travel themed projects. I have made a mixed media card using some items from the Stamp Man Vintage Style Embellishment kits.

The background was stamped using clear EP and WW DI blended over. I made a faux leather effect tag using tissue paper and an embossing folder and it looks and feels quite realistic. I sewed around the edge and added a piece from an Egyptian bracelet to finish it off.

The stamped images are some that Jill sent me and a frame from the Vintage Style Embellishment Kit.

Supplies used -
Distress inks - Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy, Wild Honey, Stormy Sky, Victorian Velvet, Weathered Wood.
Distress Markers - Faded Jeans, Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Stormy Sky
Stamped images courtesy of the Stamp Man and Tim Holtz - Travel Labels

This is a close-up of the little label, made by stamping onto painted shrink plastic.

Jill is offering the winner a £10 voucher to her store, so it's well worth an entry don't you think?

See you again soon.

The Stamp Man - Father's Day / For a man

My card today shows the Frantage Encrusted Jewel technique (EJT) which I used for the sea on this nautical card for a Dad.

Stamps used are Aspects of Design Nautical and Distressed Corners and Borders - both from The Stamp Man on-line shop. The corner stamp is Tim Holt's Urban Tapestry.

I stamped the main image with embossing ink and used blue and lava black EPs and then added some silver EP by using an embossing pen. I stamped a swirly border underneath and added some silver glitter EP and then did the EJT using Stampendous aged silver and shabby white embossing enamels as well as some pure white, clear and some shimmery flakes my sister gave me. Whilst this was hot and sticky I added an anchor charm and it stuck right in, no glue needed.

The prize as always is a generous £10 voucher for The Stamp Man on-line store, so I hope we see you over at our Stamp Man Challenge Blog for this popular challenge.

So have you joined in Tuesday Treasures this week? Please pop by and link whatever you have made or photographed that is special to you. It is just for fun and to share special creations with one another.

I have another special post coming up in a minute.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

The Stamp Man - Your Favourite Technique

Today the lovely Angela is challenging us to make something using our favourite technique. Now if you are anything like me I took one look at that and thought where do I start? I love so many techniques. Shall I write them all out and pull one out of a hat? No not really. But I decided that although I use blend and flick and masking alot with DIs and sprays I decided to go with a favourite that I don't use so often and that is T!m's Rusted Enamel technique.

So here is my Stamp Man DT piece, I hope you like it. If you want to see how to do this technique in more detail it is in the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 1.

Supplies -
Archival Inks - Coffee, Rose Madder, Olive

The Rusted Enamel background.

We look forward to you joining is at The Stamp Man and if you do you will be in with a chance of winning a £10 voucher to the On-line store.

Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.

Shabby Chic/Distressed at The Stamp Man

Hi Everyone

I am hosting the new challenge at The Stamp Man and for the next fortnight and we would like to see your shabby chic or distressed creations.

I had great fun making this card. Since my fabulous win at Terry's blog I have been totally inspired by Linda Coughlin's blog and her gorgeous shabby chic creations and my design has been influenced by her lovely work.

I have layered music paper washed with watered down white acrylic paint, an embossed piece run through the TH Postcard embossing folder then covered with distress stain, heat dried and white acrylic sponged over the top to catch the raise areas.

The doily die was stippled with picket fence crackle paint and when it was dry I blended some DIs on it very lightly.

The addition of 2 different types of lace a punched border and a fabric flower made from TH tattered flowers and a Sizzix flower dies (Funkie Junkie style).

The focal image is the 'I love Paris' stamp by Stampendous sent to me by Jill, with the flowers coloured in using distress stain and TH marker. The tiny tag was also from Jill and has been inked, spritzed with water, stamped with a TH mini, some lace added to the bottom and also white pearls.

Supplies -
Stampendous 'I love Paris' stamp
Music paper
Tim Holtz Postcard embossing folder
Tim Holtz alterations die - Distressed Doily
Distress stains - Victorian Velvet
Distress Inks - Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo
Distress Marker - Victorian Velvet
Tim Holtz Crackle Paint
White acrylic paint
Mini tag
Martha Stewart border punch
Star Dust Stickles
Shabby ribbon coloured with Victorian velvet DS

I hope we will see you at The Stamp Man for this challenge and if you join in you do of course stand a chance of winning a £10 voucher for Mrs Stampman's on-line shop.
Have fun.

Challenges to have fun with
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes
Sugar Creek Hollow - Die Cuts or punches
Card and Scrap - Flowers
Crafts and Me - Vintage
Papercraft Star - Something French

Saturday evening up-date -    firstly the lovely Diane at 1CardCreator has suggested I link this to Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound. My pleasure to do so and I will be off to explore the other blogs that participate.

Secondly - I have no idea what has happened tonight but Blogger has changed the whole look of the back-rooms here so that I am finding it a nightmare to find my way round and to even find this post to edit!!!!! Do we really have to go with the changes without being asked if we want to? That really annoys me.

Have a great evening xoxox

The Stamp Man - Vellum

My first week off and I have so enjoyed getting inky and experimenting again.

This is my DT piece for the Stamp Man this week which is to use vellum. Jill kindly sent us some bits and pieces including this stamped image on blue vellum, so it became my focal image for this card.

The pink flower is also vellum which I made from 3 circles. I think I might do a tutorial for it at some point, although I guess most people will know how to make it..

The butterfly is made from 2 Martha Stewart punches punched in white card and distress stains then a glitter embossing powder added.

Please come and join us and show us how you use vellum on your projects. As always Jill will be givng the winner a £10 on-line voucher for her shop.

Supplies -
Tim Holtz - Vintage Shabby Paper Stash
Distress inks - Victorian Velvet, vintage photo, walnut stain
Distress Stains - Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Walnut Stain
Vellum
Embellishments - mosaic tiles, tiny tag, vintage brad, vellum flower, lace, doiley
Martha Stewart butterfly punches

Have a wonderful Easter and happy crafting.

The Stamp Man - Bingo card / Recipe

Take time to smell the roses.

I am soooo late with my DT piece for the Stamp Man this week but here it is at last.

Fabric
Polka dots
Flowers
Circle

Swirls
Metal/metallic
Ribbon

I  have completed 3 lines, as you can see if there was some fabric and polka dots I would have had a full house lol.

I stamped and used the TH water brush to see what effects I could get.
I think I need some more practice with this.

The flowers were made La Blanche style using metal and paper.

Tim Holtz clock die
Distress inks - Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Victorian Velvet.

I am hoping to get some of my photos downloaded from our wonderful trip to Paris last weekend.
We had the most amazing time. But it's another busy few days over this weekend with friends and family and a bit of a party tomorrow night. I am still celebrating and am going to make the most of it.

I hope you have a great weekend too.
