MAWTT Challenge 94 - Chocolate

Hi Everyone

Today our fabulous Laurie is hosting the challenge at MAWTT and she has chosen the theme of Chocolate so I couldn't resist making a VINTAGE CHOCOLATE BAR. Well I have the photos to prove it isn't that old really and the choc is still good to be eaten - of course.

 The above photo became this...........

......... and this became ........... (scroll down to see)

We were given images from Stitchy Bear Stamps and I chose this ornate egg to work with. I coloured it up in Photoshop Elements then used it to make my own backing paper (the spotty design I layered it on is from Far Far Away). I edged it with DI and misted it with 2 different glimmer mists to get a more distressed look. I made my own round sentiment (which was a freebie last week) and printed off a larger coloured egg to embellish the top.

So here's my real chocolate contribution to the challenge this week. Great one Laurie, thanks for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

The Magician's Helper - Dezinaworld

Hi everyone, it's almost the weekend - yeh.

Firstly a big hello to Tonya, Marlou and Liz who have joined my creative world recently. It's lovely to see you and if I haven't visited you yet I will soon.

Those of you who read my posts fairly regularly know that I love many different styles but particularly vintage and I have been itching to play with Photoshop Elements more. I still need to do some training with it but playing helps.

I have made this using a background, frame and image that has come from the lovely June at Dezinaworld and I have had fun experimenting with light and colours to make this simple piece.

I am entering it into June's Spotlight challenge which runs weekly starting on a Thursday. You do not have to use her images and the challenge is open for any kind of art. The theme this week is 'Magic', so my framed lady is called The Magician's Helper.

Just to let my regular reader's know that Mum's funeral is next Tuesday, so I am busy making arrangements and clearing her flat with the help of all my family. How lovely it is to have such a close knit family and to have them and dear friends to fall back on. I have to say that my team mates at MAWTT have been fabulous and keep sending me messages of support and keeping a close eye on me - thankyou girls for your cards, messages, kind words, love and help through all of this. My thanks also to those of you who have been thinking of me and leaving me messages that also give me strength and a feeling that the world can be such a wonderful place where people you have never met can still make you feel cared for and loved. It really is an amazing feeling.

Lastly to finish on a brighter note - it is my first blogaverary at the end of this month and I am busy gathering together a small blog give-away. Stay tuned for more info during the next week.

I am back tomorrow with my Stamp Man post which I am hosting for the first time.

Sleep well.

MAWTT Challenge 78 - Anything Goes but not Christmas

Good morning Everyone

I hope that all is well with you and your families as we are fast approaching Christmas Day.

This week our lovely Hazel at has set the theme at MAWTT and we are looking for anything but Christmas projects.

We are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps this week and the winner will receive $10.00 To spend instore!!!!!   Pop over to the Store to see what they have got - there is such a range of images and papers.

I got to play with 'Babe' and Stitchy, if you read this my friend, I hope you don't mind how I have used her.

I have experimented with using digital images to create a piece of art and I did not set out to make a card. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements but have a very limited understanding of what it can do (so I must get myself on a course to learn how to use it properly). Firstly I coloured Babe, put wings on her as well as goggles and a top-hat (I know very Steampunk!!) and then added her and other elements to Panda Bear Designs Garden Fairies Paper. I added more shading and colour to the image with Promarkers and then I used layers, inks, stickles, stamps and embellishments to give it a more 3D look - eh voila.

Only 2 more sleeps now.

Take care, luv {brenda} xoxox

OSAAT challenge 37 - Anything goes Christmas - Christmas Crackers

Happy Halloween, I hope the day is going well.

Today is another OSAAT challenge and this week it is to make anything that fits with the theme of traditional or modern Christmas.

I got a gorgeous fairy bear image to play with by JLJ Designs and decided it would be fabulous as part of a set of Christmas crackers for my grandaughters - so of course there had to be some pink in it.

There are several sponsors this week with some lovely prizes up for grabs.

Easycraft are giving a £10.00 voucher.   http://www.easycraft.com/
I am Roses has some flowers to give away. http://www.iamroses.com/
Michelles scrapbooking and more is giving a $10 voucher.   http://www.michellesscrap.com/

So go on over and look at the fabulous inspiration from the OSAAT Design Team.

I have to say I bought the crackers but I added the pink ribbon and the image plates.

The fairy bear was coloured in Photoshop Elements and then I added shading by adding colour with Promarkers. I also added glitter to the wings, then cut the image out and set it on a grey Nestabilities Labels 4 plate.

I am going to look for some 'PINK' challenges to enter this in to as we all know it is breast cancer concern month and it is something we all need to be aware of.

Enjoy the rest of your day and the week ahead. I will not be around much again for 4 weeks as I will be working almost 24/7, but come the second week in December I will have finished and be back to visiting as well as creating and making.

Take care. Luv B xxxx
