Gosh where did November go???? Here we are at the beginning of December and I didn’t post all my Gecko Galz samples for being one of their guest designers for November. Here is a tag I made.

P1140900
On the edge snow flurries die, inked and distress glitter added.
P1140901
Tim Holtz banner die to add the sentiment.
P1140905
A metal charm painted with distress paints and glitter. A crinkled, inked ribbon.
P1140908
And this gorgeous GG imaged, aged with distress inks and a few more snowflakes added.
P1140909
Right, lets see if I can get to grips with December projects and get all the Christmassy ones in before the big day.

Have a great advent and preparations for the festive season.

Guest Designer at Gecko Galz

Sometime last year I was asked if I would be a Guest Designer at Gecko Galz and November has come round so fast.

I have made four projects and would like to share the non-Christmas ones with you today.
P1140920
Firstly a collage card with an embossed background using the Tim Holtz Cargo mask on coredinations card stock with the letters sanded down.
P1140922
The image is from Gecko Galz brand new collage sheet ‘Retro Fashions 1’. I layered scraps of paper, washi tape, lace and ephemera to create the collaged corner …….
P1140924
…… and adhered various metal embellishments to add dimension.
P1140923
The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Simple Sayings set of stamps.

My second piece is a tag card
P1140910
The image came from the same Retro Fashions sheet as above and the butterfly is from a bottle cap set they do.
P1140912
I love the chic feel to this image with the cracked background contrasting with the elegant lady drawn in black and white
P1140913
Some tissue tape, washi tape and a black border balance the composition at the bottom.
P1140914
Some rub-ons and a black bow at the top …..
P1140916
….. and a doiley with inked edges placed behind the focal point to give it more of a feminine feel.
I’m really happy with this one.

We have had some stunning sunsets this week, these photos were taken on Monday night, there was something similar tonight.

From my workroom window.
P1150033
Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer to your goal.

Enjoy the rest of the week my friends and thanks for stopping by.

Christmas card - Gecko Galz

Still on my making Christmas cards trek - aren't we all??? I made four of these to add to the box.

This is a vintage image from Gecko Galz, layered up, some frantage enamels, snowflakes and poinsettia all punched out.

I am so loving making collage things again at the moment.

Enjoy.

Red and Green at PanPastel UK

Yeah, another Christmas card (well two actually) and my DT contribution to the PanPastel UK challenge for this week.

The background is just two red PPs blended together then sealed. Twigs stamped with dazzle EP and gently patted with various greens and yellow PPs and sealed again.

Tim Holtz Holly die-cut using brown, green and red card, covered with PPs in appropriate colours, sealed then covered with Rock Candy crackle paint.

The vintage image is from Gecko Galz Old Fashioned Christmas collage sheet.

Red and greens are the colours of the season and if you enter the challenge you are in with a chance of winning a starter set of PanPastels from our regular sponsor 'Your Creativity Store'.

Have a great Sunday whatever you have planned.
See my last post to see what I am doing today ....... so exciting.

PS News of Becca - she was finally allowed home Friday afternoon, ....... so wonderful.
The whole family came round last night and we had a great meal and catch-up together. Considering all the trauma she has had to deal with she was bright and chirpy and wanted to talk about her experiences, which is healthy.
Thanks for all your comments and support, you have really helped me over the past couple of months and I so appreciate it.  B xx

PanPastels - make an embellishment

Back to making Christmas cards for this DT piece and I have made 4 of these.

Welcome to the PanPastel UK make an embellishment challenge, we hope you will join us this time around and be in with a chance to win your own set of pans from our regular sponsor Your Creativity Store.

My focal image is from the Christmas Chic collage sheet available at Gecko Galz. If you haven't visited their shop or blog I do recommend you take a look, especially if you love vintage images you can print out yourself.

The background for this card was made with PanPastels and the freebie snowflake stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine this month. Two A4 sheets were enough to make my four cards.

The snowflake is my hand made embellishment, die cut from offcuts of the backing paper with a movers and shapers die, heat embossed with sparkly ep and a shrink plastic snowflake for the additional layer. All sparkly bits are diamond Stickles.

A memory box frosty border die-cut, music paper and a computer generated sentiment complete the card.

Another update about my GD, when I visited Friday she was in the hospital classroom, helping a younger boy make a model pirate ship. She was bright and chirpy and is now eating solid foods, a very bland diet though and just small amounts.
I took lots of cards with me that had arrived over the past week and she was delighted with them and loved looking at the different styles, patterns and colours. I have to say a huge thank you to Sue (Scrumplescrunch), Lynn (Trash to Treasure art), Silvia (BarniesBaustelle), Yvonne (Journey into Artistry), Joyce (Gram's Treasures), Karin (Creativity), Marjie (She who stamps and scraps), Rebekah (Berrylicious), and Trace (Inkypinkycraft). Thank you all for brightening her day and her room.

Happy Sunday.
