MAWTT Challenge 99 - Sketch

HI Blogging Buddies  - how is the world with you today?

This week at MAWTT our fabulous teamie Hazel has given us a sketch to work with. I set about using the image and made it into a transparent ping file so that I could print it onto distressed paper, made by myself with DIs and sprinkled water - you know the technique. I used some TH text paper and Graphic 45 Steampunk card and bought some ribbon from a craft shop local to my sister when I went to see her on Wednesday. Great - made the tag to go with it added some lace, finished them all off and went to draft my post (actually I couldn't because Blogger had gone down) - but I tried to remember the theme - what was it? No. I had to go and check the DT blog to remind me - hey ho guess what? I hadn't followed the theme (sketch) at all - duh!!!! Where had my brain gone???? So then had to set about making another one. But that gives me even more to show you today.

First my Steampunk Vintage Vamp. I love this image from Stitchy Bear.

Supplies used -
DIs - frayed burlap, antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain
DSs - forest green, wild honey
Papers - G45 steampunk, DCWV naturals, TH
Stickles - diamond
Sakura glaze pens - green and white
Sizzlits architectural accents #4 die
Steampunk embellishments

So to show you the first card and tag I made where I just got carried away in my own little world. (But that's good isn't it - shows I was in a creative and thinking mood).

Supplies used
Provo Craft corner die
Graphic 45 and TH papers
Stitchy bear image with added text

Challenges to have fun with
The Rubber Cafe - Vintage

I am also really pleased that my shabby recipe card was chosen as card of the week at Sugar Creek Hollow. Thank you girls for choosing my card, I am delighted and feel very honoured. Isn't this a cool badge?

Well I hope to see you over at MAWTT this week.

Take care.

MAWTT challenge 98 - 2 B's ...................... and a give-away

Saturday Edit - I am very annoyed and very sorry that Blogger didn't get this post back up after the catastrophe on Thursday and Friday. All the lovely comments and entries into my blog candy have completely disapperared. I am now extending this Give-Away till the 28th May - all details for entering are below. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Everyone, it's my turn to host the challenge at MAWTT this week and I have chosen the theme of 2B's. Now let me interpret this -  my initials are BB (2B's) so I thought I would make this the challenge for the week. So your entry must have at least 2 things beginning with B on them, ie brad, button, bow, blue, bling etc etc.

I bought four LOTV stamps at Farnborough back in February and this is the first time I have inked one up - what am I like? I stamped the image with walnut stain and painted it with DIs. Cut with a nesties circle, embossed and coloured the outside with bundled sage and stream and painted the image with DIs listed below. Mounted on another circle and then the lacey circle.

The paper from the Mariposa stack was not big enough, so I cut it and inserted some other paperstock and added text paper. I have edged the papers with stickles and white paint to create a shabby vintage look.

My 'B's include - beads, bow, button, blue, bird and butterfly.

Supplies

LOTV stamp
DIs - frayed burlap, weathered wood, scattered straw, dried marigold, walnut stain, bundled sage, barn door
Adirondack dye ink pad - stream
Nestabilities - circles, lacey circles
Stickles - star dust
Papers - Mariposa, DCWV
Vintage ribbon
MS butterfly punch

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Emma's Store so go take a look at all the lovely goodies available - I am sure you'll find something you like.

Now for a little surprise, I didn't get round to having a birthday blog candy back in March and I have now reached 201 followers so I thought I would combine this challenge with a give-away.

I have asked that MAWTT entries have at least 2 things beginning with B on them BUT if any of you can show me 3 or more,  then link your work in the comments section below and I will use Random Org thingumy to choose a winner. (You do not need to have entered the MAWTT challenge to take part in this give-away but it would be lovely if you do). Your work cannot be posted before today's date to enter.

Now if anyone has been able to match or better my 6 B's then they will be in a second draw for another little prize - so Random Org thingumy will be choosing another number.

Please this isn't a guessing game for me, so kindly let me know on your comment below what number of 'B's there are and name them. All compliant entries will get one chance to win in each give-away and if any of my followers enter they will get an additional chance to win (please put an F by your name). I will come and visit everyone who leaves an entry.

This will stay open for two weeks, it will close at 8 pm on the 28th May and I will announce the winner on the 29th. What could you win? How about some stash all beginning with 'B'?

For 3 - 5 B's I have got  -
Two Books and a Box for altering
Blue, Brown and Black papers
Black (and white) Buttons and Bows
Bling - to include adhesive stones and glamour dust
chipboard Buttons
Butterfly 3D stickers
Beads

For 6 (or more) B's you will also be entered to win -
Butterfly stamps (papermania)
Bare chipboard album
A Box canvas
A Book for altering
Black and white tags
Chipboard Buttons

Wow that was a long post but I look forward to seeing your entries and Good Luck. Don't forget this is open to everyone - just follow the guidelines above to be eligible to win.   (I hope it isn't too complicated)

Challenges to have fun with -
Fab 'n' Funky - Buttons and bows
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes

I paper pieced the wedding cake using the Le Romantique G45 papers I have been using on my current wedding book project and adhered it to a small tag pocket and made two tags for it. MAWTT Challenge 96 - Anything Goes

Wow there were some amazing recycling projects entered into last weeks challenge at MAWTT, it's fabulous to get so many ideas and inspiration from others.

So how are you all my dear blogging buddies? This week the lovely Pami has chosen an 'anything goes' challenge for us, so this is everyone's chance to play along.

This week we are being sponsored by The Stamp Man - another of my DT challenge blogs - and there is a fabulous set of Hero Arts stamps up for grabs.

The Stamp Man has an on-line shop, a fortnightly challenge blog and a monthly ATC challenge and swap.
The shop has a varied range of products from basic materials through to more specialised items from companies such as Ranger, Spellbinders, USArtQuest, Woodware, Moonglow and Walnut Hollow Metal.
Jill also has her well known range of 'Aspects of Design' stamps which include a brand new set called 'Framies' that can be used with the nestabilities labels range. These are fabulous designs that enable you to use them on their own or as as toppers when used with the dies. This range will soon be extended so it will be well worth popping back to the shop to see what new images and labels will be available.

Challenges that inspired me this week are -
Paper Sundaes - Sparkle and pearls
The Shabby Tea Room - Photo inspiration and butterflies - I have the wedding theme and the butterflies
Crafty Cardmakers - A Royal Wedding
My Partner In Crafting Crime - Wedding photo inspiration
Totally Gorjuss - Bling It On
CCEE Stampers - Add a butterfly

I decided to use the lovely Graphic 45 Le Romantique paper pad to make a wedding card and just hope it doesn't get seen before the big day in August. Unfortunately we are not able to attend this one as we will only just be getting back from our annual Lanzarote trip on the Thursday with the wedding being in Italy on the Friday - just too tight a turnaround.

Anyway, I have returned to embellishing and using bling for a change. I really enjoyed making this after all my recent experimentation with grungy things. The paper is just gorgeous, so I made a few embellishments - the butterflies, hearts and flowers and I added glitter and pearls to the main image and bride to the right of her and added glitter pens to the printed butterflies.

The thing that took me the most time was making the circular sentiment, I just couldn't get it right - but I persevered and am really quite pleased with it now it's finished. I used Photoshop Elements and overlaid the final image onto another paper from the G45 paper pad to get the coloured design and effect I wanted.

I'll be back tomorrow with a project I have been making for LIIU, so take care.

MAWTT Challenge 94 - Chocolate

Hi Everyone

Today our fabulous Laurie is hosting the challenge at MAWTT and she has chosen the theme of Chocolate so I couldn't resist making a VINTAGE CHOCOLATE BAR. Well I have the photos to prove it isn't that old really and the choc is still good to be eaten - of course.

 The above photo became this...........

......... and this became ........... (scroll down to see)

We were given images from Stitchy Bear Stamps and I chose this ornate egg to work with. I coloured it up in Photoshop Elements then used it to make my own backing paper (the spotty design I layered it on is from Far Far Away). I edged it with DI and misted it with 2 different glimmer mists to get a more distressed look. I made my own round sentiment (which was a freebie last week) and printed off a larger coloured egg to embellish the top.

So here's my real chocolate contribution to the challenge this week. Great one Laurie, thanks for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

MAWTT Challenge 92 - More than one fold (but not an easel card)

Hi all you bloggers out there and welcome to Thursday and a new challenge at MAWTT.

I know I haven't been around much lately and I am not really MIA, it's just that I have to finish visits to all my schools before the end of term and get their reports out, consequently I am at it full time at the moment with very little left for creating and blogging. After Easter I am out of work completely so I will be around more then.

But here is my gem for the fabulous challenge set by our talented Shell today. She has chosen to challenge us to make something with more than one fold and NOT an Easel card. So I have made a birthday 'card' book for a very good friend whose birthday will be coming up soon. This definitely has more than one fold!!! I used the Technique Junkie CD which was a prize a couple of months ago. This little book is made from 1 sheet of 12 x 12 paper, a piece of card to make the flap (my idea that bit) and owires to bind it together.

As our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps, I have used several of their digi stamps to make funny cards inside the book for my friend to read. You can find these at -   http://www.bugaboostamps.com/home.html

I had fun doing the adult colouring in using my promarkers and then decorating the front cover. The flap is secured at the back with a small piece of velcro.

Ken bought me a photo light tent for my birthday, but I really couldn't get the light right today, so apologies. I am going to have to experiment with it more.

Hope your week is going well, have fun.
