CAS SOARING ACROSS THE WORLD CARD...

Today I have another quick and easy "Make & Take" from last week's downline meeting.  This one uses a favorite of mine - the World Traveler Embossing Folder from the Occasions Catalog.  This embossing folder is especially perfect for Masculine and Nautical cards.  We added a little vintage to the embossing with Stampin' Sponges.  Who said you couldn't use a little glitter on a masculine card?  Not me!  And this yummy Pool Party Glitter Ribbon from the Occasions Catalog adds just the perfect little touch!

The focal piece uses the Sky is the Limit stamp set, one of the stamp sets from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog available for FREE with a $50 purchase.  This is one of the Limited Time products that will only be available through Feb. 15.  This one is easiest to punch first and then stamp.  I just love the vintage biplane!

HELLO SUNSHINE TROPICAL BOTANICAL CARD...

It was time to come up with another swap for my downline meeting this Saturday.  Our theme is Occasions or Sale-A-Bration catalog products.  I decided to mix a little of both!  I've been dying to use the fabulous new Botanical Builder Framelits again, so I went with those in some tropical colors.  I was inspired by my fellow demo Sarah Williams who will be missing our meeting to go on a Caribbean cruise - lucky lady!!!

I just love this new coordinating Botanical Gardens suite from the Occasions Catalog!  The individual prices are listed in the card recipe, but be sure to check out the bundle which saves you 15% and includes the Botanical Blooms stamp set, the Botanical Framelits and the Botanical Gardens DSP!  See a video on the bundle at the end of this post.

The *hello* sentiment is from the Hello stamp set, one of the sets from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog available for FREE with a $50 purchase.  This is one of the Limited Time products that will only be available through Feb. 15 - don't miss out on it!  I stamped that on one of the Lots of Labels Framelits.  Then I used a marker to color just the *sunshine* from one of the other stamps from the set and stamped it below the hello.

To achieve the coloring on the flowers, I used sponge daubers to layer on Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, and Melon Mambo.  For the very center of the flowers, I used an Aqua Painter with a mixture of Real Red and Chocolate Chip.  I also drew in some lines with Stampin' Write Markers, although in retrospect, I should have taken more time to draw them carefully.  With 12 to make, I was rushing through them.

Once everything was dry, I curled all the flower pieces with a bone folder and put them together with Mini Glue Dots.  Already can't wait to use these framelits again!!  Enjoy!

SIMPLE SUNDAY, Tea for Two

Today I wanted to use up some scrap pieces that have accumulated on my desk, so I pulled out some previously rejected teacups I made with the Tea Shoppe stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog ending tomorrow. All I had to do was stamp the sentiment, run the card front through the Big Shot with the embossing folder, add some color specks with the Color Spritzer and pop the teacups out on Dimensionals.

To get the mirror image tea cup, I simply stamped the teacup and cut it out.  Then I inked up the teacup with VersaMark and pressed the BACK of the teacup piece down onto the stamp.  Since the cup part is symmetrical, it was easy to do and I only had to add more VersaMark to the handle before embossing with Clear Embossing Powder.  Enjoy!

TEA FOR TWO SUPPLIES:
  • Stamp Sets – Tea Shoppe (W#125545 $34.95, C#125547 $27.95), Hello Doily (#122845, $17.95)

TECHNIQUE THURSDAY, Emboss Resist High Tea Thanks...

Today I have a monochromatic thank you card I did with Tea Shoppe stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It is one of my favorite sets from the Mini.  I am really hoping that it comes back in the new catty!  For this card, I used a simple Emboss Resist technique (tutorial at the end) for the Hello Doily stamp.  It is a perfect stamp for this technique.  After embossing the doily, I sponged Concord Crush over it, to highlight it.  Then I added the tea cup and teabag (the tag punch is awesome for this) and stamped the sentiment.  Enjoy!

HIGH TEA THANKS SUPPLIES:
  • Stamp Sets – Tea Shoppe (W#125545 $34.95, C#125547 $27.95), Hello Doily (#122845, $17.95)
  • Card Stock – Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
  • Ink – Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush (retiring) Classic, Whisper White Craft, VersaMark
  • Ribbon – Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine (#125576, $2.95)
  • Punches – Jewelry Tag (#117190, $10.95), Extra-Large Tag (#119866, $16.95)
  • Accessories –  Basic Pearl Jewels Accents (#119247, $4.95), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (#109132, $4.75), Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder (#109130, $4.75), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430, $3.95)
  • Tools – Heat Tool, Paper Piercer, Sponge Daubers

For those who may be new to stamping and don't know the Emboss Resist Technique, here it is:

EMBOSS RESIST TECHNIQUE:
1.  Stamp your image with Versamark or Craft Ink onto card stock.  This technique works especially well on Glossy card stock.

2.  Emboss using White (with Versamark) or Clear (with Craft Inks) Embossing Powder and your Heat Tool. Allow to cool.

3.  Sponge or bray any color(s) classic ink around the embossed image.

4.  Buff off any remaining or excess ink from the embossed image with a paper towel or tissue.

CREATIVE CREW, A Pocketful of Friendship...

Okay, today I discovered that I totally spaced on posting my other two Creative Crew projects on my blog or ANY of them on Splitcoast!   Sigh... I'm so sorry!   Between vacation, the Charlotte Regional, making 100+ swaps, the earthquake, Hurricane Irene and the ongoing major construction on my house, my brain has been AWOL for the last couple of months.  And now I can't even find the 4th one!  Grrrr...

Here is Challenge #3.  For this one, we actually had to incorporate 3 different challenges all while meeting the theme of friendship as well.  We had to use certain colors (from the Pocketful of Posies DSP), use the paper-piercing tool and use a sketch (at the end of the post).  This is a pocket card.  They are always cute!

I used one of my Fancy Flower Roses for the flower.  A video tutorial for those are coming soon... As soon as I figure out how to edit, etc. a video!  :)  I embossed all the DSP with the new Houndstooth Embossing Folder to give it a little more texture.  The faux stitching was done with the paper piercer and the White Signo Gel Pen.  Hope you enjoy my Pocketful of Friendship Card!
