Party Party Pages

Now you all know scrapbooking is not my first love...I will always be a card-maker first and foremost, but I am really enjoying my monthly crop nights, and the fact that it forces me to scrap a couple of pages each month! If you are new to scrapbooking, I would highly recommend starting with 6x6 pages. A 12x12 canvas feels scarily empty to a card-maker! Only one standard photo fits on a 6x6 page, so layouts and colours come together really quickly. You can make a mini album or calendar quite easily, and they make a lovely gift too.
These are the pages we made at last month's class:

I've taken the colours from Good Morning Sunshine DSP. And I showed off my Big Shot alphabet, and how to make your letters do double duty!
I have another Crop Night tonight. There's nothing like chatting and creating with friends :o)

Materials (all Stampin' Up!)
stamps: Party Hearty
ink: Versamark
card: Baja Breeze textured, Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
other: Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Big Shot, Alphabet dies, Top Note Die, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Crystal Effects

What??? Scrapbooking!

Can you believe it? I've been scrapbooking. Don't fall over with the shock! ...and go easy on me, because I am really not a Scrapbooker.
Due to popular demand, I'm even running Crop Nights again. I had the first one a couple of weeks ago, and we had heaps of fun. I have lots of space for everyone to sprawl out now. We made these two 6x6 pages and I also did a "Tool Time" session, and taught everyone how to use the Circle Scissor. They were all experts by the end, and cut perfect circles every time. Then, we all worked on our own projects. There was some furious stamping, punching and Big Shotting going on!

6x6 pages are a great place to start if you aren't used to Scrapbooking. You only need one photo, and they frame up beautifully if you don't want to put them in an album. I'll be putting mine into a desktop Calendar for my Mum's Christmas present. 2 pages per month will see me done by September...that will be a first!
My next Crop Night is on Friday 14th May. I'd love to see you there!

Materials (all Stampin' Up!)
stamps: Vintage Vogue, Cottage Garden

ink: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede
card: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Whisper White
other: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Circle Scissor, Photo Corner Punch,

Another page...
Making Scrapbook pages is a bit like pulling teeth for me. It just doesn't come naturally!
This is another page for my sister's album. I've used the Watercolour Vine Jumbo Wheel and Springtime Stems Hostess Set.

Another page for my sister...
The colours on this page and the one below aren't very true to life, but you can at least get the idea...
We spent a day driving down to New Forest, and had a magical time exploring, patting ponies and watching deer. Another special memory.

For my Sister...
Some of you may know that my 9-year-old daughter Amy and I went to London mid last year to visit my sister Yvette, who's living over there at the moment. We had the most amazing time seeing London and Paris with her, and my Christmas present to her was an album of special memories from the trip. BUT in October and November last year I was asked to make a 60-page album for an anniversary present for an Auntie and Uncle-in-law. So, Yvette's receiving her album in installments this year (and possibly next year too, since it's April and this is my first page!!)
This is a page of us having rosé and milkshakes at a café outside Notre Dame...as you do!
The colours are Rose Red, Bravo Burgundy, Perfect Plum, Brilliant Blue and Elegant Eggplant, and the Stamp Set is Delight in Life (a Sell-a-Bration set).

Scrapbooking...

It's not something that I've done a lot of, but I'd definitely like to get into doing more. I made a BIG album at the end of last year as a 50th Wedding Anniversary present (talk about being thrown in the deep end!) and on my "to do" list is to make an album for my sister Yvette with pics from our trip to London and France last year. It was actually supposed to be her Christmas present, but the other album took over my brain, my spare time, my life....

This is a page that I put together a while ago using Stamps, punch and papers from the Mini catty (now expired, but finger's crossed some of these will appear in the new catty), and also using the Heartfelt Thanks set to make the little embellishment.

We're having a Cybercrop on Saturday night, so I'm hoping to make a start on Yvette's album then. Starting's the hard part for me....I'm very into completion, so once I get going, I just keep going until I've finished. But I can manage to put off actually making a start for a really looooonnnngggg time....
