NOTD: Nicole by OPI Just Busta Mauve

Nicole by OPI Just Busta Mauve

This color totally freaked my camera out! I think my poor Canon just didn't know where to focus.

It's absolutely gorgeous, and the neatest color I've ever seen from Nicole. I knew when I saw Scrangie's swatches that I needed this one.

It's bronze-based and has blue and red shimmer. I have no idea why they put "Mauve" in the name..... mysterious!

NOTD: Nicole by OPI Nothing Kim-pares to Blue

Nicole by OPI Nothing Kim-pares to Blue

These Kardashians... they are everywhere. On my TV, in my gossip mag, and now on my nails! I had some Extra Care Bucks at CVS that were about to expire, so I grabbed this on a whim because I was thinking this was what I had hoped Essie Bikini So Teeny might be- a periwinkle blue with a noticeable shimmer.

And I hate to admit it, but I really like this Kardashian Kolor (oh it pains me to type that!). I might even buy some more....... :-)

NOTD: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Suede topped with Nicole by OPI Extra Snowflakes Please

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Suede (2 coats)
topped with Nicole by OPI Extra Snowflakes Please (1 coat)

For some reason I wasn't loving the LPAD Suede after I got it on, so I topped it with the NOPI holo topcoat- and it looked gorgeous in the sun!

However, this combo did not wear well at all- of course being at the lake may have had something to do with it, but it was chipping on the second day.

NOTD: Nicole by OPI All Reindeer Go to Heaven topped with Extra Snowflakes Please

Last month I picked up the Nicole by OPI Merry Must Have Minis at Target for about $10, and I am absolutely loving this set. It contains four shades: All Reindeer Go To Heaven, Extra Snowflakes Please, Miss Claus' Night Out, and How Rude-olph!

I was excited to see that Extra Snowflakes Please is a dupe for my beloved Cover Girl City Lights.

NOTD: Nicole by OPI Orna-ment For Each Other

Nicole by OPI Orna-ment For Each Other

This is a new glitter that came out this holiday season, and it's really pretty- it's a clear base with mostly red glitter, but enough gold glitter to give it a gorgeous look. The glitter is dense enough that the above swatch is just two coats. The first coat you're thinking, whoa- this is going to four coats! But the second coat really evens it up nicely.

HOWEVER, this was chip-tastic on me. I used two coats topped with Seche Vite, and after one shower I had a giant chip on one finger. I left it alone, and by the end of the day, I had chips on about 7 fingers. So it might be nice for a special occasion, like a holiday party, but I don't think it's hearty enough to wear as a 3-4 day mani.

Nicole by OPI Skittles

I was recently sent some Nicole by OPI shades to try. These are available at Target for approximately $7.

L to R

Green Up Your Act!

I Love You Cherry Much

Sounds Grape to Me

It's Not Me, It's Blue

Green Up Your Act!

This swatch is two coats, and seeing it up this close, it could have used a third coat to be completely opaque.

Sounds Grape to Me

This swatch is two coats. I think this is a great shade for fall!

I Love You Cherry Much

This swatch is three coats to mask VNL as well as possible. I absolutely loved this one- the flakies were so pretty and it was gorgeous in the sun.

It's Not Me, It's Blue

This swatch is three coats, but totally needed four. To me it leans more purple than blue, but I got several compliments when I wore this as a full mani last week. Very pretty.

Disclosure: I was sent these shades for review purposes.

Swatches: Nicole by OPI Something About Spring Collection

Hi! Sasha here!

Today I have three shades from the Nicole by OPI Something about Spring Collection.

You're S-teal the One

three coats

This one applied beautifully! The VNL wasn't really apparent until I got in direct sunlight. Indoors, it wasn't noticeable at all. Loved this color!

Nicole's Nickel

two coats

This one was gorgeous- love the multiple sizes of glitter. And this wasn't bad to remove at all- the scrubby tub removed the polish with absolutely no problem and left no glittery residue on my hands.

Brilliant Idea

two coats

I think this one could have used another coat, but was still pretty at two. I bet this would be great used as a topcoat.....

Nicole by OPI believes once you respect yourself, you can shade it with the rest of the world. Nicole by OPI nail lacquers are free of DBP, toulene, and formaldehyde and are packaged in recyclable glass bottles.

The Something About Spring collection launched exclusively at Target in March 2011, and feature irresistible shades that bring a bursts of color and feel-good energy to any look. They retail for $6.99 each.

NOTD: Nicole by OPI I Have a Plumb Thumb

Nicole by OPI I Have a Plumb Thumb

This was my first Nicole polish to try and I am so pleased with it! The above picture was taken on day 3 of the mani and it still looks good. If the word "Plumb" in the title is supposed to mean Plum, I am a bit confused as I found the polish to be more pink than purple....

This is two coats topped w/ Seche Vite. Application was good, smooth and even, and dried lightning fast with SV.

On another note, I am testing Instant Artificials as my basecoat and so far I am loving it. I had a crazy week last week and didn't get to paint my nails for a few days, but 2 coats of Instant Artificials made then nice and strong, and the clear polish didn't peel off as I find clear polish often does after a day or so. I went almost 5 days with my chipping/peeling of the polish.

Disclosure: This Nicole polish was provided to me by a PR firm for review purposes.
