China Glaze Elfin' Around

China Glaze Elfin' Around
2 coats

from the China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection for Holiday 2013

The Pandemic of 2020 certainly taken a toll on my hands and nails- early this summer I had a terrible eczema outbreak on my fingers and under my nails that I am pretty sure was triggered by hand sanitizer and increased hand washing. It was painful and looked so bad and I sadly had to take a break from painting my nails for a while. But things are much better now that I am not using hand sanitizer and making sure to moisturize my hands often during the day.

I am so excited for the happiness the holidays bring! I hope to pull out many seasonal favorite shades to wear the rest of this year and want to get back to taking pictures and blogging. I missed my hobby so much!

China Glaze BFF

China Glaze BFF
2 coats
from the 2018 OMG! Flashback Collection

I was so excited when I found out China Glaze was releasing a 10th Anniversary Collection for the OMG Collection. I didn't start my nail blog until the end of 2008, so I wasn't a hard core collector yet. Since I am a holo fanatic, I am so excited to have these!

China Glaze Don't Get Elfed Up

China Glaze Don't Get Elfed Up
2 coats
from the Cheers! Collection for Holiday 2015

Don't Get Elfed Up is a gorgeous emerald and blue shimmer that has a pinkish purple color shift you can sometimes can in certain light. Super-hard to photograph that though! You can see a bit of the purple at the bottom of the bottle in the pic above. This was absolutely perfect in 2 coats and pretty darn unique. I love it!

China Glaze Son Of A Nutcracker

China Glaze Son Of A Nutcracker
2 coats
from the Cheers! Collection for Holiday 2015

Son Of A Nutcracker is s a bright, almost neon, pink-toned shimmery red and I LOVE it! It was absolutely perfect in 2 coats, and although it's a bit different for a holiday shade, I think it's a must have.

China Glaze Peppermint To Be

China Glaze Peppermint To Be
2 coats
from the Cheers! Collection for Holiday 2015

Shimmery shades like this are what China Glaze does best so I knew I'd love Peppermint To Be. I got absolutely perfect coverage in two coats, and even my husband commented on how much he liked this one. (He always loves traditional nail polish shades like red and pinks!)

China Glaze Frosty

 China Glaze Frosty
3 coats
from the 2010 China Glaze ‘Tis The Season To Be Naughty and Nice collection

Frosty is a creamy white with a gorgeous shimmer. I'm not typically a fan of plain white polish, so I am loving the shimmer and what it adds to the finish. You definitely need 3 coats of this to get opaque coverage though.

A Twist on a Crackle Mani

China Glaze Cha Cha Cha (2 thin coats)
over 1 coat China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Lightning Bolt

A few weeks back, I saw a neat "alligator skin mani" using a base of a crackle polish topped with an iridescent green. I thought I'd try to recreate it, and as most nail art-ish attempts go for me, it's somewhat of a fail, but still sort of cool.

Back when crackle was popular, I used it quite a few times as a topper on top of a base color. But I've never tried it this way, using the crackle as the base. It gives an interesting look, and although I'd don't believe my nails would pass for alligator skin, maybe it's October or Halloween appropriate?

Both of these are old shades, back from the days when I was on China Glaze's PR sample list.

China Glaze December To Remember

China Glaze December To Remember
3 coats
from the China Glaze Twinkle Collection for Holiday 2014

December To Remember is nothing special in the sun, just a medium blue shimmer. But in the shade, or on an overcast day, just look! It's got a gorgeous pink duochrome shift! It was a bit sheer and needed 3 coats, but the effect was well worth it. I absolutely love this shade!

China Glaze Lug Your Designer Baggage

China Glaze Lug Your Designer Baggage
2 coats
From the All Aboard Collection (Fall 2014)

marco shot

When I saw pics of China Glaze's Fall 2014 collection, All Aboard, I knew that Lug Your Designer Baggage was the first shade I wanted to try. Isn't is gorgeous? I don't have anything else like this in my collection- it's brown creme with gold flecks and a GREAT fall shade. The All Aboard collection is inspired by “vintage railway travel” which is a pretty cool theme.
