Capsule wardrobe #120 ~ red and black

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today the Chinese Year 4712 began the Year of the Horse. The start of a New Lunar Year is celebrated with colourful traditions, aimed to bring happiness and good fortune for the next twelve months.

One of the traditions is to wear red (red symbolizes happiness and good luck) and so I've accessorized with red today!

Capsule wardrobe pieces: black trousers and shirt
Accessories: Hermès 'La Réale' 90 carré, Clic H enamel bracelet in marron glacé, Muse belt buckle with strap in Rouge Garrance Togo and Birkin in black
Shoes: black 45 Belle Viviers
Scarf tying method: Criss-cross bow knot

Variation: red shoes and a black belt strap (good news for all 'La Réale' lovers, the 2014 spring/summer re-issues have started to arrive in the boutiques)

Zodiac Animal sculptures (Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads ) by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, with the horse in the centre (NYC in 2011)

Another variation, with lighter and warmer reds:
