Good Morning, World

If you don't follow the actor Pablo Schreiber on Instagram then you might not know that he's been vacationing in Jamaica for the past week or so -- an activity which he's been relentlessly documenting on his social media account, much to our gratuitous delight. I've barely been able to keep up with it all and lawd knows -- I try. I'm a trier. But here, to help combat those Monday morning blues which I know we're all combattin', a collection of noted Schreiberian beefcakery set against a tropical locale after the jump...

with Pablo Schreiber. (via)

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... helping Pablo Schreiber get warmed up. (via)

Whoever edited this video edited it perfectly for gif-making -- just enough frames to repeat every shot with the right frequency. It's an art really, so props to them -- made my job of making all of these gifs one million times easier anyway. Hit the jump for said gifs...

Good Morning, World

Three of my favorite things brought together in one photo! Pablo Schreiber, Pablo Schreiber's abs, and Switzerland! (via) I am choosing to take this as a good sign for the day. It's taking all of the will in my mind, soul, and body, but I am making that choice. It would be easier if I was there on the other side of my computer screen but when isn't that the case...

Good Morning, World

So I finally started watching the Hulu limited-series Candy this weekend, which I'd been meaning to get around to for ages -- Melanie Lynskey, after all! -- but what I was not ready for was this being a story about the seductive power of Pablo Schreiber playing volleyball in 80s-era short shorts! Never have I felt so seen! I have only watched a couple of episodes so far but so far it's terrific -- anybody else watched it? But I'll save the complete thoughts for when I've finished the series. For now let's just get back to "Pablo Schreiber playing volleyball in 80s-era short shorts." That I can do. Hit the jump for the gifs...

Pablo Schreiber Fifteen Times

The fine folks at Schön! magazine have struck gold again with this photoshoot of the mountainously manly Pablo Schreiber, most recently seen (in his mountainous altogether at that) on the video-game adaptation series Halo for Paramount+. You can read the interview with Pablo right hereSchön! has become a beacon of Hot Man Content over the past couple of years...

... see their Scott Speedman photoshoot here! See their Michiel Huisman photoshoot here! See their Billy Magnussen photoshoot here! See their Avan Jogia photoshoot here! They're hitting up so many of our faves that I'm starting to think somebody at Schön! might be an MNPP fan and are curating specifically for us! Anyway lots more of big man Pablo after the jump...

Good Morning, World

Actor and former porn-stache Pablo Schreiber being naked in the TV series version of the video-game Halo has been around for a few weeks now but I guess maybe I thought I'd watch the show or something so I didn't jump right on posting these when they did first appear -- well that's not happening (me watching the show) so let's just bite this bullet! Not that this bullet "hurts" -- this is a smooth sexy bullet that I think we all can agree we'd like to penetrate us. What? I don't know. It's too early for all of this. You know I don't even know what Halo is about? I know it was/is a game and I think it involves lots of shooting? Otherwise you got me. I can tell you that this series of gifs, besides featuring Pablo naked, also features a whisper of gore and some blue hologram girl and that I honestly find the gore less offensive than the hologram girl. But I'll leave that up to you to judge after the jump...

Pablo Schreiber Two Times

(via) We will probably get more photos from this shoot for Jon magazine later but sharing these two photos of Mr. Pablo that we do have right now seems like a perfectly fine way to greet the weekend to me. Finer than fine, even. Please have a safe and great weekend, everybody. And if you are looking for something to read I have reviews to two horror movies out this weekend linked in posts right down below, and if you missed my piece on this week's 50th anniversary of John Waters' film Pink Flamingos I recommend you click on that too! Bye til Monday...

Good Morning, World

Don't ask me how Tumblr got ahold of that shot of Pablo Schreiber in the movie Lorelei to make a gif with it (I found it here), since the movie's not out until Friday, but they did and I am here to share this development. Anyway Lorelei I reviewed right here when it screened at Tribeca -- it stars Pablo and the always-welcome Jena Malone as a pair of past-their-prime folks reconnecting years after they dated circa high school; he's just gotten out of prison, she's a dead-end mom with a pile of kids. The movie sounds like a depressing chore but as I say in my review the performances and writing elevate it out of poverty porn, and that third act is chef's kiss. I really recommend checking it out. I also posted the trailer right here. It hits all the usual places -- theaters apparently as well as on demand -- on Friday. Oh here's a clip they released as well:

Pablo's Sweatpants Strike Again

The just dropped first trailer for Lorelei, the movie I dubbed "Pablo Schreiber in Grey Sweatpants: the Movie" here on MNPP last week, begins with a shot of Pablo Schreiber in grey sweatpants. My work here is done! Poof, I disappear in a cloud of silver glitter and dust mites. In all seriousness this is a lovely little movie which also co-stars the always-welcome Jena Malone, I reviewed it out of Tribeca right here, and y'all should see it when you can. Which ain't too long -- it's hitting theaters and VOD on July 30th. And here's that trailer:

Pablo Schreiber in Gray Sweatpants: The Movie

While Lorelei isn't all "Pablo Schreiber in gray sweatpants" I do think that anything I can say to convince you to go see the movie Lorelei when you have the opportunity to will pale in comparison to the above photo of Pablo Schreiber in gray sweatpants. So know that! Lorelei has Pablo Schreiber in gray sweatpants! The proof's right there! But if you need or maybe just want more convincing I did review the film, which just premiered at Tribeca, today at The Film Experience. If I add on the fact that Pablo and his sweatpants act opposite the always fantastic and always under-appreciated Jena Malone maybe that will stir something in you? Something the sweatpants hadn't already stirred, I mean? (God I love Jena Malone.)

Good Morning, World

Let us greet this Monday with some Pablo Schreiber (via his Insta) -- have any of you kept up with American Gods? I stopped watching after the first season the second MNPP pal Bryan Fuller left the building, but I do appreciate checking back in on the menfolk he gathered for its cast now and again. Especially, if you check our Tumblr, one Mr. Whittle...

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... hearing the ocean with Pablo Schreiber.

I can't quite hear it yet, Pablo!
Bring it closer! CLOOOOSEERRRRR.

Anyway shame on us on two counts - number one there've been several pictures worth sharing posted to Mr. Schreiber's Instagram over the past month that we're just now getting to, and number two we haven't watched this week's episode of American Gods yet. We'll make up for the second part tonight, but we can do something about the first part right this second! Hit the jump for ten more pictures...

Pablo Schreiber One Time

.
I should post a picture of Ricky Whittle here because he's supposed to be at the Apple Store event for American Gods that I'm currently headed out the door to while sadly there's no mention of Pablo being there, but Pablo shared this picture on Instagram himself and so he wins this round. Your move, Ricky!

Which is Hotter?

.
Just about one month until we're watching American Gods, you guys! Starz went and released a batch of character posters yesterday, showcasing all the main-ish characters of Bryan Fuller & Co's grand new show - you can see them all right here. But we're gonna focus in on our two at-first-sight favorite godly fantasies turned flesh played by Ricky Whittle and Pablo Schreiber...

The Gods Are Crazy Awesome

.
Bryan Fuller's new series American Gods, based on Neil Gaiman's book, premieres on April 30th  on Starz - that's just 46 days to go! And EW just dropped a new trailer for it; you can watch it at this link. (They're being stingy with it so I can't post it here.)

There's way more to see than we've seen anywhere else yet and it seems to be mixing some of the brightness of Fuller's Pushing Daisies (hey there, Olive Snook) with the bloody horror of his Hannibal, and I am so there for this - so there, so there.

Pablo Schreiber in those suspenders
is giving me some thoughts, mate!

Putting the Gods in American Gods

.
(click to embiggen) Two weeks ago we saw the first couple of pictures from American Gods - you know, Bryan Fuller's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's book for Starz - thanks to EW, but at some point between then and now another picture, the one seen above, apparently snuck onto the internet without me noticing... until now! That's Ricky Whittle as Shadow on the left (see a great big gratuitous post of his right here) and that's Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney on the right. (Also yes to more Pablo Schrieber please.) Selling this show as these two big beefy fellas thrashing at each other's not a bad way to sell this show!

I Am Link

.
--- Super Wolf - Now that he's been cast it totally makes sense that Tyler Hoechlin is playing Superman on The CW's Supergirl series (thanks Mac) - I don't know why his name didn't occur to me when the word was going around that the show was looking to cast the role in the first place. Supergirl is run by Greg Berlanti, the openly gay dude behind basically all of the DC superhero shows on the small screen, and it's clear he learned some vital lessons from watching the Teen Wolf series which co-starred Hoechlin. Anyway Tyler is sure gonna fill out that suit nicely!

--- Drinking Buddies - Orlando Director Sally Potter is about to start filming a new movie, which is cause enough to celebrate, but wait til you get a load of her cast - Kristin Scott Thomas, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer, Cillian Murphy, Timothy Spall, Bruno Ganz, and Cherry Jones! That is a mad good buncha actors, people. The film is called The Party and much like the Peter Sellers movie of the same title is is set at a party. Imagine that.

--- Gods in the House - The first two pictures from American Gods have arrived! See them over at EW. The adaptation of Neil Gaiman's book, which we've already talked about a billion times, is being shepherded onto the small screen by no less than Hannibal and Pushing Daisies mastermind Bryan Fuller himself, so we expect greatness. In the picture you can see Ricky Whittle (dear lord look at Ricky Whittle) as Shadow Moon and Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney the leprechaun; at the link you can see a couple of shots of Ian McShane in character too.

Oh and in the past couple of days there's been several roles cast, all men of color - the gorgeous Omid Abtahi (I've had a crush on him for ages) is playing Salim, while Orlando Jones and Demore Barnes have been cast as Mr Nancy and Mr Ibis, respectively. And here below is a picture of Omid, who you'll probably recognize from one of the thousand times he's been asked to play a terrorist (like Homeland or 24, for example):

--- The Ol' Oak Tree - The first poster for A Monster Calls, one of my most anticipated movies of the year, has arrived - get a look at it over at STYD. This movie is based on the heartbreaking and beautiful children's book by Patrick Ness, which I highly highly recommend. The film stars Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, and the rich deep baritone of Liam Neeson as a tree. Watch the trailer over here if you missed it.

--- Brain Drain - I haven't gotten a chance to read this one yet but The New York Times spoke with Charlie Cox about his currently-running play Incognito (oh I am sure they got a Daredevil question or two in there, if they know what's good for them) - you can read it over here. (Thanks Mac) There is a picture of him attached, to make the words go down smoother. I saw this play a couple of months ago and didn't love it, to be honest, but Charlie (everybody) was good.

--- Number Twos - I was going to just post this brief update (or rather non-update) from Winona Ryder about how she has no idea what's happening with Tim Burton and the Beetlejuice sequel right now (thanks Mac) but then I read this article at THR today talking about how Hollywood's current big problem is "Sequels That Nobody Wants" and I found that to be much more interesting a thing to share. And if that's the mindset that might put the brakes on a Beetlejuice 2 happening, honestly. Especially with the Burton connection, what with the Alice in Wonderland sequel being the reigning King of the Flops and all. Happy Childhood Memories be damned, I'd probably be willing to give up a Beetlejuice cash-grab if Hollywood promised to stop shitting out sequels. (HA.)
