Pumpin' With Jai

Believe me -- if I could find a better quality copy of the above photo of Jai Courtney flexing & flashing them abs for Men's Health magazine I would share it -- as of right now it's just the photo they put before his new workout video for them loads and so I couldn't even get a copy without that spinning circle in the middle of it. I feel humiliated, betrayed. What did we do to deserve this treatment, Jai? Is this because I gave your killer shark slash serial killer movie Dangerous Animals a thumbs down in my review? I said YOU were good in it! Sigh. It's hard, being a critic. At least we get this brief moment in the video:

So all's not lost. Actually since it's a several-minute-long video of Jai Courtney working out in a sleeveless tee and shorts lots isn't lost, when it comes right down to it! Naturally I told myself as I watched the video "I ain't giffing all of that! That'd take ages!" And then as I continued to watch it my brain was like, "Well you can at least make a couple gifs..." And then by the end I start making the gifs and next thing you know an hour's passed and I've got several dozen gifs piled up on my desktop. Oh well! My psychosis is to your advantage, per usual. Hit the jump for uhhh yeah 40 or so more gifs (I'm deranged) and also the video itself...

Maybe the Dangerous Animals Were Us All Along

I have been relentlessly hyped for Dangerous Animals, the "Jai Courtney murders people with sharks" movie since it was announced in May of last year -- how could I not be? That description has everything. Jai Courtney. Murder. Sharks. These are my interests boiled down to their essence. Just glance through our archives and you'll see all my ceaseless yapping. So anyway now the movie's in theaters today, the critics have been raving, and... y'all I didn't like it. What? How??? I even watched the movie twice just to make sure! I thought maybe the first view might've been a fluke because I had a really annoying woman sitting next to me at the screening who kept talking through the entire thing -- seriously if your deep insights amount to, "Oh he's dead" maybe keep that shit to yourself? -- but unfortunately the second viewing only cemented my first negative opinion, and even harder.

Jai himself is a lot of fun, but the rest? Ooof. So yeah go read my review at Pajiba for the all of the gory details. I'm feeling extremely alone on an island with this opinion, too -- like I said as of right now this movie has a positive 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. But I'm right. Since it pains me to say it so much I have to be! It just never threads the needle it needs to between dumb and fun. The script is legitimately and deeply bad (dialogue that made me want to permanently deafen myself) and the movie takes itself stupidly serious. And I hate hate hated the two lead characters that weren't Jai. What a sad day for us all. Well at least we'll always have The Loved Ones, director Sean Byrne. Onto the next...

Just finished a review sort of eviscerating a movie I was really looking forward to and I thought I liked fine on a first watch - we critics can be unwieldy beasts

Jai Courtney Six Times

With Dangerous Animals out next week and with me having now seen it (as foretold last evening when I posted some other photos of Jai Courtney looking extremely fuckable in a suit at a screening) I think y'all should expect several Jai Courtney posts to pop up in that time, if the world delivers me the content I crave to post anyway. Today these photos came from Jai himself (via), styled for the film's L.A. screening I do believe. Anyway point being...

... that the haircut Jai got in between the photos that I posted yesterday and these photos that I am posting right now is extremely hot, and this man continues to make me think alarmingly yet deliciously degrading thoughts. Ahem. Hit the jump for the rest...

Insert Jaws Theme Here

Finally! I'm now finally off to see Dangerous Animals, the "Jai Courtney murders people with sharks while dancing in his underwear" movie directed by The Loved Ones director Sean Byrne that I've been dying to see since I first learned that it was going to be a thing. I was supposed to see it last week but the screening cruelly got canceled, all whilst other people who aren't me and therefore don't matter got to see the movie before me, in other places -- the nerve. Anyway yes, I'm off, but here to keep you company are two photos that Jai himself shared (via) from his recent screening of the movie in Cannes France, where a bunch of those people I just said don't matter did the most annoying thing possible and saw the movie before me. Buncha fuck faces! Somebody should sic a shark on their asses...

Good Morning, Josh Heuston

While I've mainly paid attention to the fact that it's our furry lover Jai Courtney that stars in the "Jai Courtney kills people with sharks" movie Dangerous Animals -- and with ample reason! -- we should also definitely take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the movie co-stars the Dune series hot-piece Josh Heuston as one of Jai's prospective victims, who we've come to enjoy staring at (specifically dat ass) in the wake of said Dune series. (See previous posts here.) And thankfully Flaunt magazine went and gave us this photoshoot to memorialize the moment and give the boy his proper due! Hallelujah and hit the jump for all said due...

Batshit Jai Courtney Bright & Clear

(click to embiggen) I love that one of the official images that the team behind the murder-by-shark thriller Dangerous Animals has now released is of Jai Courtney's underwear dance -- featured heavily in both of the trailers I've covered (here and here) this official photo (via) is far brighter than the shots in the film, up to an dincluding the reveal of that big ass scar up his side which hasn't been obvious in the moving footage. They know what they've got! Anyway a third trailer, a full one not a teaser, dropped this morning and I wasn't going to share it because I've seen enough by now myself and think we should all stop watching trailers until the movie's out in just a month. (I also heard from a friend I trust yesterday who's already seen the movie that it rules!) But since they lured me in with that image up top I'll share the new trailer too:

Dangerous Animals is out on June 6th!

It's 32 Days...

... until the "Jai Courtney murders people with sharks" movie comes out and my bits be tingling -- vinbrating really at this point. I just shook a coffee mug right off tha table! How can I help myself when a new teaser just got dropped that features more footage of Jai dancing around in his underwear than we saw in the original trailer? I'm sure this scene is like a minute long in the movie -- hell we've probably seen all of it by now -- but I don't care. I was already sold on Dangerous Animals on concept and casting -- and that it's directed by The Loved Ones director Sean Byrne, we cannot forget that! -- but you add a scene of Jai in some vintage red briefs going ape-shit and you're not just speaking my language -- you're showing me how to do things with my tongue that can't be undone. Like your momma always warned you -- it's gonna get stuck that way! More gifs and the teaser itself can be found after the jump...

Pic of the Day

I've got a screening to run to this afternoon -- I'll be back in a couple of hours and might even blog then too! But to hold you tight in its arms and keep you safe and happy here is a new photo of Jai Courtney playing a shark-wielding maniac in Dangerous Animals, one of my most anticipated movies of 2025. I posted the trailer here a few weeks ago -- the movie is premiering in the "Director's Fortnight" section of Cannes next month so I imagine those lucky assholes who go to Cannes will be blah-blah-blah-ing about this shortly. This movie was directed by Sean Byrne, the director of the exquisitely deranged 2009 horror film The Loved Ones, thus making a movie I'd already want to see -- see the aforementioned "Jai Courtney playing a shark-wielding maniac" thing -- a movie I'd throw myself into shark-infested waters to see. Down below is the uncropped image which annoyingly includes the Cannes logo, but maybe one of you freaks needs to see Jai's ankles. No judgement!

I Wanna Jai You Like An Animal

When this movie was first announced last May I immediately went bonkers for it, as could be predicted by the mish-mash of words one needs to use to describe it -- Dangerous Animals is directed by Sean Byrne, director of The Loved Ones, and it stars Jai Courtney as a serial killer who kills people by feeding them to sharks. If you built a blender large enough to drop my entire body into this is the movie that would come pouring out into your glass once my person was fully blended. Anyway that was a year ago and now the time has arrived, so get to building your people blenders -- the movie is coming out in theaters on June 6th and we've got a teaser trailer! And...

... like a full fifty percent of it is Jai dancing around in his underwear! As if they needed to win me over further? I'd already bought my ticket last May y'all! Anyway as I also mentioned in my post last year this movie co-stars the supernaturally pretty Josh Heuston, who we've become far more familiar with (especially his bum) thanks to the Dune series on Max. So that's exciting as well! Here is the trailer:

Dangerous Animals! Out on June 6th! Be there!

Good Morning, Jai

Yesterday Jai Courtney shared with us some photos of him celebrating a belated homebound premiere for his Netflix Western series American Primeval, which didn't get a real premiere because of the L.A. fires. Looking it up now I see the series has apparently been a hit (as far as we can gague Netflix numbers for real) -- anybody watched it? I haven't yet but it's got Jai so I will at some point probably. For now I am happy with these photos! Hit the jump for them all...

Good Morning, Gratuitous Josh Heuston

From one feast to another -- I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I'm still a little out of sorts from my illness (two weeks in, huzzah) but getting there, thanks for asking. Well enough to come into work and gather up dozens of photos of the latest hottest young thing, Dune Prophecy actor Josh Heuston anyway. Back in May was the first time I posted about (or heard of) Mr. Heuston -- even though you'd think he'd have caught my eye...

... when he played a character named "Zeus' Pretty Boy" in Thor: Love and Thunder). Hrm. Anyway May was when he got cast in a serial killer movie with Jai Courtney called Dangerous Animals that's been directed by The Loved Ones director Sean Byrne -- and yes these are all exciting developments to me personally still, maybe even moreso after having spent this morning staring at Josh's outrageous abdominal muscles.

These models turned actors, yeesh. Will they ever quit murdering us??? (Also it's good to see also that that Jai movie is listed on IMDb as being in post-production, meaning I'm guessing we'll get to see it sometime in 2025. Gimme!) Anyway I haven't watched any of Dune: Prophecy yet but I have seen gifs of Josh on the show making the rounds and...

... my interest is up, up, up. I actually don't know why I haven't started the show yet, being a Dune fan -- I keep not being in the mood when I open the Max app and see Emily Watson in that great big black headdress staring back at me. Soon though. Soon. For Josh's part he's been doing his best...

... to steer me his direction, appearing on like a dozen magazine covers in the past few months in varying states of undress. Which is what brings us to this morning, this great big gratuitous post. It's a biggun! Took me all morning, it did. Hit the jump for a great big galumph of photos...

Good Morning, World

Catching Dust writer-director Stuart Gatt -- who we should obviously note is very very attractive himself -- has on his Insta been sharing a pile of behind-the-scenes photos from that Texas neo-noir starring Jai Courtney and Erin Moriarty, but it wasn't until he shared the above image that I found myself compelled to share. Actually compelled to do a lot of things, but sharing that photo is the one of them I will tell you about! Catching Dust can be rented on Amazon right now -- I saw it when it screened at Tribeca last year and I remember liking it well enough, if not quite enough to inspire the writing of a review from me, but Mr. Gatt is being so generous with these photos I am telling you right now, go watch his movie! He's a good boy and deserves the views! Hit the jump for a few more photos (and one video) of note...

Take a Big Bite Outta Jai

I feel like it's been ages since I've had Jai Courtney news to share, but now that I do it's absolutely awesome Jai Courtney news that is one hundred percent right up my alley -- he is going to star in a shark attack slash serial killer movie (yes I did indeed just write all of those words together) called Dangerous Animals, and it is going to be idrected by Sean Byrne, the director of my beloved 2019 prom horror movie The Loved Ones! Jai is playing a serial killer who abducts pretty girls and feeds them to sharks and I need this movie in my life immediately. It will co-star a couple of pretty young things I'm not familiar with -- Yellowstone's Hassie Harrison plays the kidnapped girl who must escape Jai Courtney Shark Serial Killer, and a very attractive young man named Josh Heuston (see below) (PS he played "Zeus Pretty Boy" in Thor: Love and Thunder, lol) plays her love interest who's trying to find her before Jai Courtney Shark Serial Killer gets his way. Serial killing. Via shark. I love the movies!

Today's Fanboy Delusion

 Today I'd rather be...

... livin' it up while Jai's going down...

Jai Courtney had a film called Catching Dust premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival over the weekend and so he was in town, partying with his pals, and woe be unto me I missed that. I guess my invite got lost in the mail, Jai! In all seriousness I realized a couple of days ago that I made my Tribeca schedule this year so I'm covering everything either via screener or press screening and so I am missing all the requisite fun star-fucking that comes with film fests? I'm not going to any premieres at all! What was I thinking? Just out here being professional, doing my job. (Says the man who's only published one review so far.) Anyway! You're here for photos of Jai! Hit the jump for more...

Jai wishes you a happy Friday. (via)

Good Morning, World

This is the adorable picture that got delayed yesterday when Aaron Taylor-Johnson decided to flop his manhood around for Calvin Klein -- twas Jai Courtney's birthday yesterday, so we wish him a belated one. We love you Jai, even if we shoved you right out of the way like a sack of potatoes for Aaron's big bulge. That reminds me though -- remember when Jai did underwear modeling? Those were the days. He should reconsider that career path. Just a thought, Jai!

Jai Is Fox

Via Collider today comes word that Jai Courtney and Saint Maud actress Morfydd Clark -- who you might know from playing Young Cate Blanchett in the new Lord of the Rings series but you need to see Saint Maud if you haven't yet dammit -- will be starring together in a movie called The Fox, which will be kinda folk-horror-ish it sounds like? They're calling it a dark comedy but it sounds creepy to me. Here's the plot:

"The film will tell the story of a vineyard dynasty heir who finds out his fiancé is cheating on him. Wanting nothing more than to ease his own ego and embarrassment, he decides to follow the advice of one fox, who promises his engagement will be fixed if he pushes his fiancé into a magic hole. When his fiancé emerges, the fox promises, she will be the perfect partner. However, the heir will soon find that his now-perfect fiancé has some strange quirks that may lead him to question his decision."

I guess her "strange quirks" could be she suddenly loves making lots of balloon animals or something similarly not creepy, but shit sounds creepy to me. The director Dario Russo is a first-time feature director, but I guess he made some Aussie series called Danger 5 that was a cult hit? Any Aussie readers wanna chime in? Anyway I hope it's good, I do love Jai, but he tends to pick questionable projects. I also love Morfydd; she was ace in the aforementioned Saint Maud but I also thought she proved her mettle by the end of the first season of The Rings of Power, I thought. Did y'all like that show?

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... putting on a show with Jai Courtney.

I couldn't decide whether to post this as a video or as a gif and then I realized I run this damn place -- I can post both. Insert "Why not both" gif here. Something something Jai Courtney insert both here...? I don't know, y'all do the work -- this is my first day back from vacation and it's before noon, my dirty puns aren't firing at full capacity just yet.

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... all hands on Jai Courtney's deck.

The Boys actress Erin Moriarty posted some Insta snapshots of herself and a group of friends having some tropical boat-time over the weekend -- one of those friends happened to be Jai Courtney, actor, and here we are. Looked like a fun time was had by all! Not that I am letting y'all see anybody but Jai. Listen, I know my audience.

Good Morning, World

James Gunn's Suicide Squad sequel, imaginatively titled The Suicide Squad, premiered in Los Angeles last evening -- look here is a photo of Jai Courtney looking real hot in white with a stache at that event at this link! -- and so here for our morning are these two photos of co-stars Joel Kinnaman & David Dastmalchian (via the latter's Insta) being friendly with one another in a water-based location. Aww, adorable. Dastmalchian is one of those character actors who shows up literally everywhere -- he was in Nolan's Batman movies, he's in this new DC movie, he's in the MCU's Ant-Man films -- he's in Dune for god's sake. He was on the new season of Twin Peaks!  I think he just has to cross Star Wars off still and then he'll have Nerd Bingo. Who does he think he is, Mads Mikkelsen??? Anyway Suicide Squad -- excuse me, The Suicide Squad -- is out everywhere inside of theaters on this Friday -- are you going to go see it? I actually do want to see it (I like Gunn) but I'm nowhere near ready to go see a blockbuster in a crowded opening weekend theater yet, especially with things surging everywhere again! Small movies with barely any crowds? Sure. A packed theater with nobody wearing masks? Not gonna happen any time soon! So we'll be waiting for on demand.
