Even though the role of Hellboy has turned out to be a bit of a curse (Del Toro's series should've gone on for longer, and David Harbour got a raw deal), and also it means that he'll be buried under paint and prosthetics, I am delighted to hear this morning's news that Claws star Jack Kesy -- our sweet sweet sexy Roller baby! -- has just landed the devil-horned red superstar for a new Hellboy movie. Titled Hellboy: The Crooked Man -- is this based on a run of the comics? I have no idea, I have never read any, but Hellboy creator Mike Mignola co-wrote the script. And even better the film's being directed by Crank co-director Brian Taylor which gets me excited as the Crank movies totally rule. (Taylor's usual co-director Mark Neveldine is nowhere in sight but that dude married Alison Lohman and they went off and became insane anti-vaxx maniacs so hopefully the Taylor-Neveldine working relationship is dead and I don't have to think about Neveldine ever again.) Anyway Kesy's done a few things outside of Claws, my beloved Claws, that I have seen -- he was in Deadpool 2 and he was in that horror movie Mosquito State that I totally adore. (I re-watched it a few months ago and it 1000% holds up.) And I have liked him in everything too -- besides looking like the jock I want to throttle me until I pass out he's properly talented! Let's hope this movie lets him be fun. And only covers up a little bit with prosthetics. Like, show this shit off y'all.

Believe the Buzz Buzz Buzz
What's that sound? Do you hear a buzzing in your ears? Perhaps a tickle on your flesh as if something small and nefarious has just alighted on you, little leg after little leg, but when you turn to look it's gone, just a small red pinprick where it may have just been? Well I think that's your sixth sense preparing you for the forthcoming fantastical horror flick Mosquito State, which is premiering exclusively on Shudder at the end of the month -- August 26th to be precise. From Polish director Filip Jan Rymsza Mosquito State stars familiar-face Beau Knapp (you've definitely seen him in several somethings but you might not know his name yet)...
... as a math savant who's made gazillions trading stocks in pre-2007-crash New York -- alienated at work by the alpha males, played perfectly by Olivier Martinez and Jack Kesy (aka my beloved Roller from Claws) Knapp retreats more and more into his luxurious Central Park South apartment, becoming paranoid about that coming crash and, well... other stuff. Some stuff, okay! You'll learn more if you watch the trailer (below) although per usual I always recommend not watching trailers and seeing things as fresh as you can. This one's worth it, I promise.
Like I said Mosquito State hits Shudder on August 26th -- and I sure hope you've gotten Shudder by now, it is by far the best bang for the buck streaming-site-wise, says me.

Good Morning, World
.
Y'all caught up with Claws right? You took my recommendations, plural, you watched the first season, and then you had the common sense to see it's one of the funniest strangest and somehow sweetest things on TV right now, and so now you're addicted... right? Good. The first two episodes of the second season have been as batshit enchanting as ever, introducing an already legendary in my mind performance from Franka Potente as a colorful (understatement!) Georgian Mob Boss - we've adored Franka since Run Lola Run and been dismayed at how under-served she's been in the years since so this is a treat.
And then of course there's Jack Kesy seen here as the affable douche-bag Roller, be still my "heart." (Although we are all just waiting for Jane Adams to show back up to torment him, right?) Gah this show. I love it so. Y'all better be watching! I'm so tired of things I love going away (cue the sad strings)...

Unhinge Your Claws
.
The trailer for the second season of my beloved Claws is here and I'm real excited of course but the above is one of the few glimpses we get of my boyfriend Roller (Jack Kesy forever) in the whole trailer and suddenly I can't for the life of me remember how the first season ended and where we left him?
There were so many fake-outs and plot turns that my memory's foggy. Oh well I have the first season on DVD so I guess I'll just have to re-watch the whole damned delightful thing! What fun! Anyway joining the show for the second season is the incredible Franke "Run Lola Run" Potente of all people, and looking like...

Good Morning, World
.
I overslept a wee bit this morning so I am running behind - to get us through this little snarled moment of time here is a delightful picture that Jack Kesy shared via his Instagram last night of himself and Jane Adams on the set of Claws! You are watching Claws, right? If you're not I hope that picture will be enough to convince you that you need to be watching Claws. It is turning out to be everything I wanted it to be and a whole bunch of things I never would have thought it being on top of that. And if you missed our gratuitous celebration of Jack Kesy click here.

Ryan Reynolds Likes 'Em Big
.
Did anybody watch Claws last night? I love me some Niecy Nash and so I was all up in that and naturally my eye gravitated towards her trashy stacked boy-toy Roller, played by actor Jack Kesy...
... well I mean come on. That's six feet and two inches of prime Floridian beef right there. (And given that all the women on Claws seem to be like 5 feet tall he seemed especially large in context.) Anyway if you watch The Strain you've seen Kesy before, even though you might not recognize him...
... I'm tempted to do a "Which Is Hotter?" poll but there's not any contest here; obviously that Claws Ass wins. But still - he's versatile! I like 'em versatile. And so does Ryan Reynolds, it appears, because Kesy was cast as the bad guy in the second Deadpool movie just a couple of weeks ago. And I have to say there's a similar heft to Kesy as there was to the first Deadpool's villain Ed Skrein, isn't there? Now that I'll do a poll for...

.
And in case you're wondering yes, Jack Kesy has played gay before -- in some 2012 movie called Morgan. Anybody seen it? It's available on Amazon right now for rent -- here's the trailer:

And Jack's also got a fine ass Instagram account;
if you want a few highlights from it hit the jump...
