Luca Wants Koch

It seems as though Luca Guadagnino has finally cleared the deck and chosen what his next movie project will be -- Artificial, his movie about the true life tale of Sam Altman the founder of Open A.I., already had Andrew Garfield and Anora's bald beauty Yura Borisov onboard when we checked in on it last month. But today Deadline reports that Cooper Koch, the great gay up-and-comer from Swallowed and that Menendez Brothers show and those great Calvin Klein ads, has also just joined the cast. No word on who anybody is playing yet but this one really seems set to roll soon by all accounts. And let's hope that Luca keeps casting off of the names in MNPP's sidebar! Anyway it's nice to see Luca hiring actual gay talent since lord knows he's gotten some shit for not doing so very often. And who knows perhaps they'll love each other and this could be a stepping stone toward that American Psycho remake (which Cooper has openly campaigned for), if that ever becomes reality.

These new photos of actor Cooper Kochmodeling his gay Calvins dropped last week but I figured I'd save them for our Monday morning, as a lil' treat -- nothing says "Monday Morning Pick-Me-Up" like this specific pretty person with his hands down his shorts to me. Here are the first batch of images that came out in May -- as the rainbow pattern lets on these are the Pride batch which they set aside for June like good responsible old-fashioned corporate overlords of yore. I think we can count on fancy underwear brands to know where their bread's buttered, at least! If the former faux Menendez brothers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch want to out-slut each other in rival photoshoots it's certainly fine by me -- we all win in a battle to the dick-print. NAC here is doing his part via Cosmopolitan magazine before the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot he's a part of hits theaters on July 18th. I Quit Smoking 17 Years Ago Today

I keep doing these posts every May 5th -- marking the anniversary of when I quit smoking cigarettes back in 2008 with a constantly ballooning collection of photos and gifs of actors and the like smoking their sexy asses off -- even though, well, it's been 17 years yo! What else do I have to say about any of this? I haven't missed a cigarette since then -- that Chantix shit I took really did its job and then some. But then the fact hasn't changed that whenever I see an image like this...

... I swoon. It just looks cool. I can't help the rules. I'm not saying it's good -- people love violent action movies because people look cool killing people too. The magazine known as V Man is really coming through for their next issue -- just yesterday I shared that new Theo James photoshoot from it, and now they have what they're calling a "preview" of the magazine's cover, which will apparently star buzzy gay boy Cooper Koch of Monsters and Swallowed fame. The four photos they've  shared here so far from photographer Alvaro Cortes are extremely reminiscent (that's me being generous) of Andy Warhol's famed polaroid series -- coincidentally the book of those polaroids was what Gus Kenworthy was "advertising" with his striptease last week. Everything's coming up Andy but then what's new. (That is a really terrific coffee table book though, I recommend it.) Anyway Cooper wants to wake us up, consider us woken. Swallowed director Carter Smith sent out this photo (click to embiggen) of his lead actor Cooper Koch last week as part of his weekly "All the Dead Boys" newsletter, and as a reminder that Swallowed is getting the fancy blu-ray treatment via Vinegar Syndrome -- buy it here! Mine just shipped out yesterday, which was what reminded me to share this photo of the Monsters star taken at an earlier but no less unshy date. Here is my review of Swallowed -- terrific flick, that. And a good one to add to your Halloween watch schedule if you're in the mood for some creepy queer body-horror goodness. If you don't have the blu-ray it is rent-able on Prime right now. So no excuses! Happy Hump Day.

There have bee so many Cooper Koch photoshoots of gratuitous note that've dropped over the past few weeks thanks to his Monsters turn, but since it's coincided with me being crazy busy with film festival season I've barely had the chance to keep up. Still when I saw these two snaps yesterday I said to myself, "Post those." And they make for the perfect compliment to his co-star Javier Bardem's photoshoot "Good Morning" yesterday, as well. Perhaps tomorrow we'll catch up with Nicholas Alexander Chavez?

It's Cooper Koch O'Clock

First things first -- no I am not watching Ryan Murphy's controversial Menedez Brothers series Monsters yet; I have been way too busy with NYFF. I'll probably watch it over the holidays when I have the real, proper time to devote to all its sleazy splendor. But I have seen y'all going nuts for the actors playing the Menendezes (Menendezi?)...

... and I obviously understand why. Which means I should remind you that I have been on the Cooper Koch train for a few years now thanks to his turn in director Carter Smith's superb queer horror flick Swallowed last year -- here is my review of that movie, and here are all of our previous Cooper posts, of which there are several, and they are outstanding resources I promise you. And while these two extremely hot new photos of Cooper seen up top and down below are reason enough to be here I actually have another purpose -- according to Carter Smith's extremely  NSFW "All the Dead Boys" website Swallowed is finally finally finally about to get a blu-ray release! And not just that -- his stellar short film Bugcrush will be included on the set! 

I have been Team Bugcrush since 2006 -- it was the first thing of Carter's I saw and I immediately knew he and I were simpatico minds and he hasn't disappointed me yet. Anyway if I had to wager a guess this release will be via Vinegar Syndrome -- they'll be announcing several new titles on October 1st, but if not then there will be even more later. It really seems like a title one of their many labels would drop. But don't hold me to it, I don't have an inside scoop or anything. But I will surely freak out and announce it when that news breaks, no worries!

Happy Valentines Day, you sexy everyones! And you know what Valentines means, right? Valentines means it's time to Swallow! Swallowed that is -- meaning The Ruins director Carter Smith's new queer horror film is finally finally finally out for mass consumption today -- click here and you can rent it on Amazon, or check all of the other places where you VOD yer flix. (And can I just say that I love love that this movie is getting a Valentines release.) The photo up top is of the film's star model-turned-actor Cooper Koch, (these photos here seem several years dated now) who we've posted photos of several times before (see here and see here) for obvious reasons...

... and yes, director Smith takes similar advantage of Cooper's photogenic everything so don't worry about Swallowed being puritanical; my god it's the perfect movie to counteract the godawful "Sex shouldn't be in movies!" conversation that keeps breaking our brains on Twitter every few months and is currently flaring up to its most exhausting fever-pitch ever. God those people have such deep issues. Anyway Swallowed is terrific -- here is my review from Fantasia last year, and here is the trailer (as well as its awesome poster) if you missed it. Swallow This!

Literally cackled just now seeing the poster reveal for Carter Smith's terrific queer horror film Swallowed -- love it! Love it a lot! I would hang this on my wall in a split second, I would. This movie stars super-hottie Cooper Koch (that's him showing his skills on the poster) alongside Jena Malone and Mark Patton and it's about a couple of BFFs who get in too deep (throat) with some shady drug dealers. Here is my review of the film from when it screened at Fantasia last year --  they're releasing it on demand on Valentine's Day, which is just delightful timing. Delightful. It's the perfect date movie, for maniacs. Oh and here is the trailer:

13 Toilets of Halloween #3

Perhaps I chose this year's Halloween list theme counting down the "13 Toilets of Halloween" because I am a disgusting person worthy of your scorn. Or perhaps I did it because I have the stunted maturity of a ten-year-old. Or perhaps I chose it because the year that has been 2022 has been rich with Toilet Cinema? (True fact: it is probably all of these things.) But there are at least two Toilet Epics that hit screens in the past year that I can think of off the top of my head, and it only seems right to take this opportunity to highlight them. 

First, the one you can actually watch right now! Right now streaming on Shudder there is Rebekah McKendry's goopy Lovecraftian goof Glorious, which stars True Blood hunk Ryan Kwanten as a down-on-his-luck daddy who finds himself trapped inside a rest-stop bathroom with some kind of a monster speaking to him through a glory hole. A monster voiced by J.K. Simmons, cuz sure why not?

Ryan spends at least half of the movie sitting on the toilet -- although none of it's spent doing his business, don't worry. Not that the movie doesn't take full advantage of nauseating its audience -- toilet humor is just the first little step towards its infinite cosmic jest. The trailer's right here. Looking back I guess I never got around to reviewing this one but it's a lot of fun, and it's great to spend time with Kwanten again -- dude should really be getting more work. 

The other 2022(ish) movie that slid into our theme is Carter Smith's gay horror flick Swallowed, which also has a vital portion set inside a road-side rest-stop bathroom (and later an outhouse) -- it is about two best friends (Cooper Koch and Jose Colon) who get forced into drug-muling by Jena Malone (!!!) and eventually Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 star Mark Patton shows up as a sinister sissy (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I loved it, oh I loved it so. 

Here is my review at Pajiba -- this hasn't been released properly yet, although it's been making the fest rounds; it just screened this week at the Brooklyn Horror Fest. I will obviously let y'all know where and when it gets its eventual release so everyone can experience all of its water-closet wonder. Bonus: funny enough as I was writing this piece I stumbled upon this piece at Paste Magazine about these same two movies and "Public Restroom Horror" so let's go read that together! At the start of August I shared six photos of actor Cooper Koch (of the horror flicks They/Them and Carter Smith's forthcoming Swallowed) that I thought might be the pinnacle of hot from him -- little did I know that long-time noted heat-bringer the photographer Joseph Lally (via) would be getting ahold of Cooper in just a few short weeks! Hell if I had known that I would have laid down some plastic sheets! For real though Lally's been one of my favorite photographers of the homoerotica since I saw his 1998 book Fun? Game (which was a foundational text for me but which has weirdly seems to have been scrubbed off the internet) and his Insta is very much worth a follow -- these photos of Cooper do not disappoint in the slightest. Cooper Koch Six Times

Say hello to one of 2022's top scream queens! You might not know him yet but you are going to want to file away the name Cooper Koch because... well for one, look at him. But for two and more importantly he stars in two queer horror movies that I have seen in the past couple of weeks! One of them is out on streaming this very week for you to see as well -- the conversion camp horror flick They/Them that I shared the trailer for with y'all a couple of weeks back. The second film starring Cooper is why we're here right this minute though -- I'm not sure when y'all will get to see this one, but Carter Smith's queer-horror flick Swallowed just played at the Fantasia Film Festival and my review of it is live today at Pajiba, click on over to read that. I don't get into this in my review but I'll say it here at MNPP -- Cooper is not shy (yeah why would he be) and Swallowed takes full (and I mean full) advantage of that fact. And I am sure one day here at MNPP once Swallowed is widely available I too will take advantage of Swallowed taking advantage of that fact!
