New & Redo

I have a new addition to my decoration collection.
I bought this watering can a few weeks ago and I love how antique it is.
Some days I wish we lived back East where are the flea markets are and so many antiques {someday I hope to at least visit... and take a trailer, lol}
These flowers are fake, but they look pretty real and best of all... I don't have to water them.
This is the one of the boxes I made for Josh & Trina's reception last fall. I had a great idea... I thought it would look better if it had a handle on it... so I have been waiting all winter for the weather to warm up so I could stain and nail a handle on this box.
Finally, it is complete... and I love it!
{it really makes it easier to more... especially with stuff in it}

March {St Patricks Day} Swap

Our challenge this month for Swap was to make a St Patrick's Day door hanger for our front door and then bring them to show everyone what we did. I really really wish I would have remembered my camera because there were so many different cute things that everyone made. It was so fun to go and visit at Angie's house... the food was soooo yummy and went right along with St Patrick's day. I was sad I didn't win any of the drawings there were some really fun tucks, word blocks, and a frame with the words LUCKY. I had a great time... it always makes me excited for next time.

Crafts are a great way to express yourself.

Sadie & Sour Cream

Willy couldn't help but take pictures the other night at dinner. We were eating tacos and Sadie had hers loaded with sour cream... and then she really went to town eating it... as you can see. At least she wasn't complaining... I get a lot of that at dinner.

Cub Scout Wednesdays

Wednesday is a crazy day. I spend most of the day getting everything ready for Scouts after school. I am one of the Webelos leaders and we have a pretty large group right now. As Webelos we have to memorize all the Boy Scout... Oath, Motto, Law and Slogan to get our badge and Arrow of Light... so I decided to make some cards for the boys, to make it easier for them to memorize them. And while I was at it I made some Cub Scout cards for Wyatt because he is in Wolfs and Clayton will be going in, in October.
I also made this little poster for Wyatt with his pictures on it and I hung it on his wall by his bed so he can look at it and remember to be a good Scout.

Feel free to print these off and use them for your boys.

Happy Scouting

our new Kitchen Pantry

We are done with our new pantry. It took a few weeks but it is done and I really like the way it turned out. It makes the kitchen look less cluttered.
Here is the before picture... with all our junk everywhere. It looks messier in the picture than it did in real life, lol.
First, we moved the cupboards down the wall and tore out the corner cupboards.
 Then we started building.
These are our cute little painters... who had lots of fun helping paint.

What messy hands you all have.
 It's all but finished...
IT'S DONE!
It really makes the kitchen look less cluttered... although it makes it look smaller. Someday when we get new cupboards... I want to put an island in the middle with a small ladder hanging from the ceiling as a pot rack.... but until then I will just keep dreaming.

Time with Dad

There is nothing in this world like Dads!!! The other day Willy went out to played with the kids... and I could hear their laughter... it was such a sweet sound. They spent the day flying their little plastic kites but they kept braking so when Willy came home he went out and got the big kites we inherited from Grandma and Grandpa Bird. They take a lot of wind to fly... and there was plenty of that. The kites kept dive bombing Willy... he would run out of the way laughing while the kids were squealing. When they got tired of the kites... they headed to the swing set. The kids love to swing... Darby and Willy look so cute riding the horse together.

Prom Dress Shopping/ Girls Day Out

Prom is coming up on St Patrick's Day... this year is Shantay's junior year and she was asked by Blake Thompson... so we just had to take a {girls day} and shop till we dropped!

Mom, Grandma, Trina, Shantay, Sadie, Darby and I loaded up and headed out to Provo... where we met Rebecca and Bailee. It was so much fun with all of us girls!

Shantay tried on dress after dress... these were some of out favorite dresses. She started out wanting a knee length dress... but half way through the process decided that she wanted a long dress instead. Then, Shantay finally found the one that she liked the best... a beautiful blue/green dress with gems on the top. She looks so pretty and I hope she has as much fun at Prom as we did shopping for the prom dress, lol.

This red dress was one of our favorites.

We all decided that we couldn't go dress shopping without trying on some dresses. It was so fun... I haven't put on a formal dress in a long time... I loved it.

And what dress is complete without the shoes!!!
Sadie had fun trying on these cute little jackets... she is such a girl, it is so fun having daughters.

This was another favorite dress... Shantay looks gorgeous!
Sadie had fun picking out shoes to go along with all the dresses.

Darby was also playing dress-up... I love my girls! The girls also had fun getting lost under all the skirts.
This is the dress! Shanty is excited and will have so much fun. This dress doesn't have any sleeves {I just colored in some sleeves so we can see what it will look like when it is done}, but they are going to have it adjusted on the bottom and will take the extra and make sleeves. I love this dress... Shantay looks very beautiful.
I am such a picture freak!... but I love fun pictures!
This is the dress Sadie picked out! She decided not to keep it because she wanted it as a play dress and I wasn't going to pay $30 for a play dress. I told her I would buy her 3 play dresses at DI {for way less money}.
The girls found the rides. We were going to ride on the train, but the battery was dead when we got there... so they decided to ride these instead. Darby was so upset when she had to get off.

The Merry-Go-Round was the last thrill of the day. The girls got to go twice... because Grandma is a sponge, lol. We had such a fun day... I am so glad that we all went.
