Sweet Baby

Happy Memorial Day! This is for the MFT Sketch Challenge this week. I got to use another new set that hasn't seen ink yet called She's Having a Baby. I know I went with pink and brown again, but these are probably the colors I would choose if I only got to take 2 colors on a deserted island, lol! I paper pieced the dress and added crystal effects to the baby toys. I also gave a go at decorating the inside of the card. I stamped the flowers in the corners and then hand drew lines between the flowers and then colored it all in. I really like how that came out, what do you think?

I am grilling steak tonight, but other than that I plan on getting in some prime stamping time. What are your plans?

Twin Baby Boy Card

Hi there! I am back....I spent the weekend just relaxing and taking care of a little bit of business. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. I think a few people were a little bothered by the title of the last post. I was trying to keep it a little light because when I think about the worst case scenario, I curl up into the fetal position and cry. Seriously, I had my daughter in the car on the freeway with me, I really am trying not to think about what could have happened and am so thankful to God for the protection I had that day. Whew!

A wonderful friend asked me to do a baby card to welcome twin baby boys. She also wanted their names on the card. This is what I came up with. I used some DP from Close to My Heart and the bear from Bundle of Joy (SU!). I really love brown and blue together, I think it gives a nice vintage look. I stamped the bears 3 times and colored them with watercolor pencils and an aquapen. I cut one bear in a bunch of pieces and layered it on dimensionals between the two. I used my PrintShop program to create a background that said "Snakes & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails". I cut the DP to 8 1/2 x 11" and ran it through my printer. I don't know if that shows up too well, but it looks super cute IRL. I hand lettered the baby names using the font from the background as inspiration. I inked most of the edges with ranger ink and added faux stitching 'cause I thought it needed just a little something. I think she will like it.

1st Birthday

This is for the color challenge at SCS (rose red, sage shadow, apricot appeal) As it so happens I needed a birthday card for my niece and I just got the new paper from DCWV called Nana's Nursery. The stamp is from Close to My Heart. My mom sells their stamps so I have few of them and I just love this giraffe! The sentiment is from Studio G (the $1 stamps at Micheals)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Baby

Hi everyone! I can't believe it has almost been a week since I posted. I had some company in town and my daughter started back to school on Monday (she is on a year round schedule).

I want to share some exciting news. I submitted a card to Paper Crafts Magazine and it was accepted for the June/July '08 issue. I can barely sit still I am sooo excited. I hadn't posted the picture of the project here or on SCS, but I will be able to share it here 2 weeks before the issue is published in early May!!!

Well, on to the card for yesterday's sketch challenge. I needed a baby card for SquirlyShirley at SCS. For the DP I used Je Taime from the Tres Jolie collection from My Mind's Eye. I just love how soft it is and I love, love, love soft green for baby things. I got the Bundle of Joy set from SU! over a month ago and just now used it!
