Simply Moving Home - Digi Stamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

It's the Easter holidays at the moment and Pav's off this week too, so my blog's a bit on the quiet side unfortunately... it's nice to have some time with all the family around though.

I needed a quick 'new home' card, so I've used an image from the Simply Moving Home A4 sheet from Digi Stamp Boutique.

I wanted the paper piecing to have a sort of quirky fabric look (I probably saw something on Pinterest/ Instagram that put the idea in my head...), so I've used lots of paper scraps and cut slightly outside of the lines.  The border die is Lawn Fawn, sentiment stamp is Clearly Besotted, and I added a little twine bow and some Viva Pearl dots... I still think it maybe needs 'something' but I've no idea what!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Double D Challenges - twine
Daring Cardmakers - do something digi
Stamps + Fun = Creativity - clean & simple

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Bird House - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

My mum asked me for a new home card, which gave me an excuse to colour this adorable Sweet Bird House image from DigiStamp Boutique.

Items Used
Image - Sweet Bird House - DigiStamp Boutique
Sentiment - Sketchy House - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - copics
Papers - Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness
Flowers - MFT Die-namics Flower & Leaf Trio
Doodlebug enamel dots
Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - showers or flowers
Moving Along With The Times - birds & feathers

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today... in pain due to a dog walking accident yesterday.  It could only happen to me lol!  I was walking with a friend, and her dog's quite young and giddy, and getting fairly big (lab cross)... the dogs were running and playing and we were chatting.  The next thing I knew I was flat on my back!  My friend's dog had run into the back of my knees at full speed, and because I wasn't expecting it I went straight down, but my head hit the ground first.  So I appear to have a sort of whiplash injury from walking the dog lol.  It was very funny though, took us ages to be able to carry on walking because we couldn't stop laughing :o)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening!

Sweet Stampin' - one layer

Ok... so I got out of the habit of blogging again!  Let's have another try...

Here's my card for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin', which is to make a 'one layer card'.  I should have posted this on Saturday, but there are still a few days left to play along (if you're quicker than I am...).

I prefer not to make one layer cards really, although I don't find them as scary as I used to.  I did end up cheating slightly with this one though, as it didn't feel quite finished without the twine.

Items Used
Stamps - Clearly Besotted
Inks - Stampin' Up 'soft sky', 'night of navy', 'crumb cake' & 'baked brown sugar'
Stitched wavy line die - L'il Inkers?
Enamel heart & brown dot - Doodlebug
Navy twine from my stash

Off to finish clipping the dog's hair... I started hours ago, but have to take plenty of breaks because he gets fed up.  Must get it finished today though, or he'll be lopsided for his walk tomorrow and all his doggy friends will laugh at him ;o)

Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening!

Sketchy House - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

I've used an image from last year for today's DigiStamp Boutique card... although as I hardly made anything last year, they all seem quite new to me!

My auntie Di (who's more like my sister, as she's only 3yrs older than me, and I'd never call her auntie unless we were winding each other up...) is moving house next week.  This card is actually for her to give to the new owners.  I'm not making one for Di yet as they're moving into a new-build and it's not ready yet, so they're temporarily moving into a house that my stepdad has just finished renovating... not sure why I felt the need to explain all of that... anyway, it's a new home card lol!

Items Used
Image & sentiment - Sketchy House - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - Spectrum Noirs
Papers - Doodlebug
Sara Signature English Country Garden Lazy Daisy dies (swirl) - Crafter's Companion

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Sketch Saturday - fab sketch

Thanks for popping in :o)

Clean & Simple - Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone :o)

I had to skip the last Sweet Stampin' challenge, as I was drowning in brick dust... I'm back this week though, and with one of my favourite challenges -  'clean & simple' (CAS).  We're sponsored by the fabulous Bunny Zoe's.  Sadly Nikki is closing down Bunny Zoe's (nooooo, say it isn't so?!), but this does mean that she has some great sale bargains at the moment, so do pop over and have a look.

I used my Cameo and a Silhouette cut file to make a simple new home card... it's a great one for using up all those little strips of card you can't bear to throw away, and a fun way to try different colour combos.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

So, this week I've been painting the new craft room, and on Thursday I've got the flooring being fitted... so there's only the furniture to sort out after that (oh, and move all my craft stuff into its new home), and then I'll be back to crafting again properly... ooh I can't wait, not long now!!!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

New Home in Chocolate Mint

Hello everyone :o)

I don't get chance to play along at Less is More very often at the moment, but I needed a couple of new home cards so I thought I'd follow their theme for this week, which is 'chocolate mint'.

I used the same supplies for each card, but wasn't in the mood for making them exactly the same so I moved things round a bit!  The cardstock is all Stampin' Up.

Off for a little catch up with your blogs... Hope you have a lovely evening :o)

New home

Hello everyone :o)

Well that was an inspired post title, don't you think?  I can't seem to come up with anything more interesting at the moment!

My friend asked me for a new home card in a bit of a hurry.  Now I must admit, I'm not completely happy with this one... maybe the sentiment needed to be a little bit lower and then it might have looked better.  But I didn't have time to redo it, so I'm trying not to let it bother me!

Items Used
Stamps & matching dies - Home Sweet Home - Clearly Besotted
MFT Blueprints 12, 13 and 14 - Craft Mojo
Doodlebug Sequins - Craft Mojo
Memento inks in Lady Bug, Pear Tart & Espresso Truffle

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Clearly Besotted - Home Sweet Home

Hello everyone :o)

Our next door neighbours moved into their new house today - they've been next door since I moved in (nearly 12 years ago!), so I'm sure it'll feel a bit strange for a while now they've gone... anyway, I thought I'd make them a card, and I made one the same to welcome our new neighbours too... and then hubby asked for one for his colleague who just bought his first house, so I made 3 of these altogether.

I used my new Clearly Besotted stamps and MFT blueprints dies, and kept them nice and simple.

Items Used
Naturals Ivory cardstock - Stampin' Up
Dark brown & teal cardstock - Papermill Direct
Home Sweet Home stamps & matching dies - Clearly Besotted
MFT Die-namics Blueprints 12 & 13
Doodlebug Sequins Rainbow Assortment - Craft Mojo
Memento Dew Drops in Espresso TruffleTeal Zeal

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Charisma Cardz - clean & simple
Crafting for all Seasons - no designer papers
Addicted to CAS - luck
(it's a 'good luck in your new home' card, but haven't used a 'luck' sentiment... hope that's ok!)

Dex has been off school today, but he's much better... I haven't got much done though, as he wanted to snuggle up on the sofa watching films - we've done The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Monsters University and Planes today, and he'll probably want Despicable Me before bed too lol.... good job I like kids films!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

CAS new home - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone, hope you've had a great weekend :o)

I'm still feeling grotty, but thought I'd just pop in with a CAS card that I made on Friday... I did have a little grumpy moment yesterday when I spotted the new Less is More challenge was houses, but it's one layer week!  Maybe I'll make a one layer version if I find some spare time.

Items Used
14.5cm square base card made from kraft card
Digi stamp - Moving Home set - DigiStamp Boutique
Teeny bit of colouring using a cream prisma pencil
Corner rounder punch
Twine from my stash
Elzybells white ink (for edging)

Back to a much fussier card for tomorrow if you don't do the CAS thing!

Hope you're having a good evening :o)

Less is More - 6th entry

Here's my 6th entry for Less is More...

Can't get much more CAS than this!  Thought this little kennel stamp might make a fun new home card... not completely convinced now it's done but never mind!  Both the kennel and sentiment stamps are from Little Claire, stamped in black versafine on Stampin' Up kraft card.

Home sweet home

Ah it's so lovely having my internet back :o)  I did manage to visit quite a few of your lovely blogs yesterday, will be trying to catch up with more of you today!

This is another of the new stamps from Little Claire, which is available to pre-order here - this one is called 'a place in the sun'.  It's quite a big stamp and I've just used part of it for this card.  It also comes with the 'home sweet home' sentiment that I've used and a 'birthday wishes' one too.  I've coloured the image with promarkers, then used koh-i-noor pencils blended with sansador for some shading.  The papers are Papermania, with cardstock, ribbon and heart pearls from my stash.

Off to do some more catching up!

New home for my mum

This one is for my mum and her fiance Andrew, who moved into their new house yesterday... finally!  They've been trying to sell my mum's house for 2 years!  It has sold several times and then something always happened and the sale would fall through.  Mum was ready to take it off the market because she'd had enough, but she got another buyer and everything went through this time, very slowly but they got there in the end!  I feel a bit sad about it really, as I grew up in that house, and it's a big part of my memories of my dad (who died nearly 10 years ago)... I'm happy for my mum though, I'm glad she's found someone and isn't alone.

Anyway.... onto my card...  The cute house image is from Digistamp Boutique and is available here.  I've coloured this one entirely with my koh-i-noor pencils, blended with sansador - not a promarker in sight.  I'm not happy with it though!  The sky in particular looks awful - I just can't seem to blend the blue properly, possibly it's the card that I'm using but it seems odd that all the others blend fine but the blue still looks very 'pencilly' (yes, I know that's not a real word!).  I've followed the sketch at Friday Sketchers - I took one look at it, and thought 'no way!!!', but then I decided to challenge myself... I find sketches with loads of layers a bit daunting due to my urge to mat and layer everything - I've resisted that this time though.  The papers are from the K&Co Brenda Pinnick 'boy' pad.  Added some raffia lace, a felt flower with a Papermania button centre, Doodlebug letter tiles - and then because I didn't have an 'o' tile, I used a button with a heart pearl centre instead, and added an extra pearl heart on the house door.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:
