Fikri olan? - Anyone with an idea?

Yıllar önce evimize taşınmadan önce her ayrıntıyı planlayarak,üzerinde günlerce çalışarak evi dekore etmiştik. Evin içi tamamen çıplaktı, 4 duvar derler ya. Maddi olanaklarımızın ölçüsünde o zamanki bilgimize, görgümüze ve zevkimize göre evimizi tasarladık. İlk yerleştiğimizde evin neredeyse her köşesi çok güzeldi. Herkes çok beğenirdi, hatta taşındığımız ilk yaz bir aile sitede ev bakmaya gelmiş, fikir edinmek için bizim evi gezmiş ve bize kendi evimizi onlara satmak ister miyiz diye sormuşlardı. Sonra yıllar geçti, geçti, geçti. İlk taşındığımız yıl paramız yetişmediği için yapmadığımız çok acil olmayan, nasılsa zaman içerisinde yaparız diye düşündüğümüz bazı işler vardı. Hatta eşim yıllar sonra demişti ki "eve taşınırken yapılması gereken 10 maddelik bir listemiz vardı, yıllar geçti biz o 10 maddeyi yaptık ama sonuçta şu an listemiz 200 madde". Hakikaten doğru. Çatının akması, doğramaların çürümesi gibi olmazsa olmaz gerekliliklerin yanı sıra evin her yeri eskiyor, yıpranıyor... Yıpranmayanlar da ise hala sağlam olsa bile insan sıkılıyor aynı mutfak, aynı seramikler, aynı tasarıma bakmaktan...

Her şeyi kendimiz,zevkimize göre seçtik dedim ya, banyonun seramikleri hariç. Şu an hatırlayamadığım bir sebepten dolayı razı gelmek zorunda kalmıştım bu seramiklere... Seramikler de böyle olunca banyo mobilyaları da ona göre oldu. İlk yıllar beni çok mutsuz etmeseler de, son zamanlarda dayanılmaz olmuştu benim için. Bir de zaman içinde havlu kurutma radyatörü diye bir şey çıktı piyasaya, tutturdum ondan isterim diye, eski kaloriferin olduğu yere sığmayınca saçma sapan borular kapladı banyoyu. Elimde olsa banyoyu yerle bir eder yenilerim ama ona gelene kadar o kadar çok iş var ki yapılması daha öncelikli, bir türlü sıra gelmiyor ona...

Bütün bunları niye anlattım? Daha önce bahsetmiştim, üst katın doğrama ve kapılarını beyazlaştırma operasyonuna giriştim hafta başında. Üst katım da pırıl pırıl oldu, ne kadar fark ettiriyor ışık olarak... Tam boya işimi bitirmek üzereyken boyam arttı, şeytan dürttü, banyo dolaplarını da beyaza boyayıverdim... En azından onlar aydınlık ve ferah oldu. Resimlerini çekmemişim ama banyo dolaplarının kapakları çerçeve içinde sinek teli şeklindeydi. Bu telleri yırtmadan sökmeyi başaramayınca onları da beyaza boyayayım dedim, iğrenç oldu, yırtarak söktüm. Kapakların içi boş kaldı. Duvardaki fayansın bordüründe kırmızı renk hakim olduğu için kırmızı puantiyeli kumaştan bir parçayı çerçevelerin içine yerleştirdim. Sonrada karmaşa içerisindeki kalorifer borularını gizlemek için yine bordürün renklerine sadık kalarak bir çok amaçlı torba diktim. Duvarda asılı olan saç kurutma makinesini, saç fırçalarını, tezgahın üzerinde duran kağıt havlu kutusunu kısaca tüm ortalıkta karmaşa yaratan ıvır zıvırı ortadan kaldıracak bir torba.

Yaptıklarım kısa bir süre beni mutlu etti (bir kaç saat kadar), bir süre sonra ise o çok sevdiğim kırmızı puantiyeli kumaş beni gerdi. Yaptıklarımı renk bazında değiştirme kararı aldım. Daha pastel, huzurlu renkler istiyorum evimde. İstediğim renkler ise o bordür ile öylesine uyumsuz olacak ki, dün gece geç saatlere kadar fayans ne ile boyanır, Türkiye de bu boya bulunur mu araştırmasına girdim internette. Küvet boyası diye bir şey keşfettim. Islak zeminlerdeki fayansları da boyadığı iddia olunuyor. Tabii ki bütün banyo fayanslarını boyamayacağım, henüz o kadar delirmedim... İsterdim ama... Sadece bordür... Pastel bir renk olursa mutlu olurum ama düz beyaza bile razıyım, yeter ki beni geren o kırmızı çiçek deseninden kurtulayım. Bu konuda bilgisi, deneyimi olan varmı??? Ben internette bir kaç seçenek buldum, oldukça pahallı... İşe yarayacaksa değer de, ya yaramazsa?... Yada acaba bu hobi malzemeleri arasında gözüme çarpmıştı, küçücük kutularda cam-seramik boyaları var, onlarla mı denesem?

Bu arada kocam banyodaki kırmızı dolapları meğer çok seviyormuş!!! (ona sormadan yaptığıma üzüldüm biraz...) , ona rağmen bugün,  "ne güzel yapmışsın banyomuzu "dedi ve ben "Ben beğenmedim, değiştireceğim" diyemedim.

Years ago, before we moved in our house we'de planned every detail, worked real hard and decorated it.  Our house was bare, as they say it had only 4 walls. We decorated it according to our knowledge, experience and taste that was in line with our budgetery resources. When we first moved in, almost every corner of our house was beautiful. Every body loved it and the very summer after we moved in a family who had come to look for a unfurnished house in our site had had a look inside ours to  obtain an idea had  asked if we would be williing to sell our house to them.  Years passed and.passed and passed... The first year when we moved in we had a to do list of uncritical things that we couldn't complete as of monetery issues and we'de thought we'll do it time. Years ago my husband stated this as " we had a 10 item to do list when we moved in, after these years although we did them all we now have a 200 item to do list". It's really true. Apart from the roof leaking, frames rotting that are the neccessities that need to be attended all parts of the house  got old , weared out... There are things that are durable but I get bored of looking at the same kitchen, same tiles, same design.

When I said we choose everything to our taste the bathroom tiles were an exception. I had to settle with them as of a reason I can't remember now... Because of the tiles, the bathroom furniture was designed accordingly. Although it didn't bother me the innitially  it turned out to be unbearable for me in the last years. Plus, during these years a towel radiator was in the market, I demanded one and as it did not fit in the space of the old radiator, ridiculus pipes covered up the bathroom. If I had the chance I would pull all the bathroom down but unfortunatelly there are lots of things that need attending with a higher priority.

Why am I telling you all these things? I'de previously wrote that I started the whitening operation of the upper flour, Monday this week. My upper flour is bright and shinny now, this does so much affect the light... Just as I was about to finish my painting I had some extra paint left over so I started painting the bathroom cabinets also. At least they are bright and airy now. I neglected to take the former pictures but my bathroom cabinet doors consisted of o fly mesh inserted on frames. As I couldn't take out these fly meshes without tearing them I thought I would paint then white also. They turned out to be horrible so I ripped them of and my frames were left empty. As the dominent colour of my tile borders are red I inserted a red polka dot fabric inside the frames. Then in order to hide the the tangled radiator pipes I made a fabric caddy, again being in colours that would match the border. This bag would also be something to get the hair dryer, hair brushes that were hanging on the wall and the paper towel box on the counter out of sight. 

These made me happy only for a short while (a couple of hours) and my belowed red polka dot fabric started to stress me, so I decided to change all the colours. I want more pastel more relaxing colous in the house and as these colours are so unmatching with the border colours, last night I started a research on the internet about how I can paint tiles, if I can find this paint Turkey... I found somethig as bathtub paint. It states that tiles can also be painted with this.  Of course I'm not going to paint all the tiles... I'm not that crazy yet... but I would like to... Only the borders... If I have a pastel colour option that would make me happy but white will also be fine, if only I can get rid of the red flower design. Is there anyone out there with this knowledge or experience??? I found a couple of options on the internet, quite expensive... If it works it's worth the amount but what if it doesn't... Or should I go for the small boxes of glass and tile mediums that I came across every now and then, should I try them?

By the way my husband stated that he'de loved the red bathroom cabinets!!! (I feel a little bit sorry that I did this without asking him...) And even so, today he said "you've made our bathroom really nice"... I couldn't say "I didn't like it, I'm going to change it".
