Seashell Scissors Keep

This scissors keep is full of
tiny seashells, sparkling beads,stitching
and  ribbon depicting the underwater
world at the seashore.
It is lined in a batik blue cotton.
The wool felt is surrounded by grape
colored glass beads for sparkle.
I think I shall have to take a trip
to the seashore very soon.
I shall list it on Etsy later today.

Embroidery Scissors Keep

I have had fun making these sweet scissor keeps.
I don't know about you but I keep misplacing my tiny
embroidery scissors and I want to keep them protected too.
I made this one out of wool felt with a yellow cotton ling with a tiny
flower print. I embroidered some of my favorite flowers on
it and surrounded it with glass beads. added some
sparkle ribbon and a tiny gold scissors charm.
I  made this one for my new ArtFire shop. I think
this would make a great gift for a friend or yourself.
I even included scissors.
I also decided to make some cards. I was being very creative
as it was a rainy here and I couldn't be in the garden.
So I made silk ribbon and painted flower cards.

It is still raining ! Oh dear what's next!
I shall need a nap if this keeps up....

A New Bracelet

I was asked to make this bracelet for a friend.
Just thought I  would share it with you so you
wouldn't think I was getting lazy, just laying
around in the garden sipping tea and
eating chocolate bon bons.  ( I wish!)
It is silk ribbon embroidered , beaded and quilted.
Tried to show you all sides, forgive the fingers.
Now I am off to the garden which desperately
needs me!

Silk ribbon Embroidery and Sweet Little Messages

Still raining and cold here. So I decided to finish up
some UFO's. This is one of my favorite sayings. It reads,
Your mind is your garden
Your thoughts are the seeds
The harvest can be either
flowers or weeds.
(you can click on photo to enlarge)

Another favorite.
If it keeps raining I may run out of UFO's.
Oh dear what would I do then.
I have listed these in my Etsy shop.

The one below was for a friend for her birthday.

Well I guess I will go peek

Yup it's still raining... no gardening today.

Just a sweet little heart, with lavender for a dear friend.
I know you are wondering about the wording.
It's a long story but she will always remain,
My new best friend.
It is in the mail and hope she gets it before she may read my post!
It is long overdue, but you know one must have the creative juices flowing....

Love is in the Air......

I have been tucked away in the studio playing with my silk ribbons, vintage
lace, fabrics and beads! I was in a loving mood I guess because
hearts just kept showing up!
So many hearts so little time.
What's a girl supposed to do...
I guess I'll put them in my shop.
So please visit before I am lost
in hearts.

Another Little Swing Purse

I love the colors in this purse. I used silk dupioni and vintage laces as the main part of the purse. Lined it in silk. Added a silk yo yo flower, silk ribbon roses & leaves and a silk image of a lovely lady. I got the image from Shabby Cottage Studios. Gail has always had wonderful images. She also has a wonderful and fun monthly challenge at Mind Wide Open. Here are some close ups. I used lots of tiny beads & silk threads for embroidery. I love how silk thread just flows so easily through the materials. I was getting ready to put this one on my Etsy, when a friend came by, saw it and had to have it as a gift for someone. So now I shall start all over again for my Etsy. But I don't mind at all. I am just so pleased she liked it. I enjoy making these. Just spreading the word about crazy quilting. :-)

A Little silk ribbon Embroidery!

I think I am dreaming of Spring again. Certainly seems far away as I look out at the snow covered garden. Every morning we have had a snow shower. We went out on Sunday and got stuck in our driveway when we came home. Reminds me of break up in Alaska when I was living there. Anyway here's my little embroidery. I love doing little things like this.

Had a Little fun With The Posse!

Friday with the posse is the day I really look forward to. Beth Logan at http://www.artstuffltd.com/ is a fantastic artist and someone I consider a special friend, had these sweet little boxes that one could make up. Just the right size for a

little something for each of the girls. So I filled them with a soy based candle with a wonderful scent.
Then we had two birthdays to celebrate. Debby the baby of the posse turned...
So I made her a lavender heart with seashells, lace and flowers. She loves the beach.

And for Martha the southern bell of the group who is always flying off to Texas, a heart with a butterfly, lace and flowers also filled with lavender.

Then I was off to pick up Teddy from the groomer, mail packages for my Etsy, pick up the latest Artful Blogging, which I hope will help me with my photos, finish grocery shopping and home to put my feet up. Whew. Now I am off to become an "Artful Blogger".
BUT BEFORE I GO I WISH ALL A SPECIAL ST. VALENTINES DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

I've done more than watch the squirrel...

Please don't worry I have not lost all my marbles yet. I have been in the studio creating little goodies for my Etsy shop. Three more sachets. Two small round ones and one larger oval. These are unscented so one can add the scent they like to the felt packing. Just a few drops of oil will do it. They are all silk dupioni in wooden hoops with satin ribbon around the edges and for hanging. All are silk ribbon embroidery. The oval has a silver bird charm and tiny glass beads depicting dew drops. I love to work in miniature sometimes. So these are fun to make. I wish all of you a very Happy and Creative New Year.
