Just For Fun!
Just saw this video and thought
I'd share it with you. I am
thinking I'll do this starting in
my driveway and down my road.
The elk will laugh and the
neighbors, well they will think
I've been sniffing paint!
(watercolors don"t smell)
<
I think everyone should give this a try...the world would be a much happier place.
OK back to painting!

Road Trip and a Little Painting.
Back to LaConnor
Dinner at sundown on the Swinomish Channel.
I devoured these wonderful mussels & clams in
a divine coconut sauce. Can you tell that I
liked these!
Then we did a little window
shopping. Thankfully the shops were
closed by the time we finished dinner or
I would be in big trouble.
This was a beautiful gourd.
A little bit of whimsy. Love the
colors and design.
Sweet statue listening to the sea.
Gorgeous glass work.
Love the frogs.
Cute shop door.
Didn't know that Fairy Godmothers were
unlimited....
The sign remains but I believe they are no longer in business.
I used to drive up here every year and shop my heart out for
seeds and plants. It was a wonderful place. A little bit of
heaven on earth.
Remember the Cat Bench a few posts back well
I did a little water color of it. I really love this
bench.
So it was another fun little trip with a ferry ride
to Whidbey Island, lunch with a dear friend in Langley,
road trip up the island looking for a possible future
home, ending in LaConner for dinner.
I feel spoiled.
Now back to cleaning the studio & painting.

My Book of Days
I have started a new watercolor journal.
I am calling it My Book of Days. The book will
consist of different days or events that will
bring back memories for me.
Such as my trip to LaConner and dining with the seagulls.
Or maybe the fact that we have had little to no rain.So it
becomes an event when it happens.
I swear I saw the flowers turn their little heads upward to catch the raindrops.
I am still doing the 75 sketches in ink everyday but a girl has to
have a little color every now and then. Therefore the journal.
Hope you are all having a great weekend. I am off to sketch the
Festival at Mount Si.

Trip to LaConner on a Beautiful Day
Spent the day in LaConner a favorite place of mine.
Had fresh crab while sitting on the deck by the water.
They didn't need to tell me this.....
They have such fun shops to visit.
Such as Bunnies By The Bay, where
bunnies rule. Such great outfits. (wish I
was a bunny). Outside there door I found
this
What a cute idea. I shall have to try this.
Another shop had these great tables that I love (want).
This is just part of a large round table.
You can see how much the artisan loves his work.
Out back there is the sculpture garden.
Beautiful work can be found here too.
I don't think the elk would eat these flowers.
I love this crazy cat bench and it was actually
comfortable.
Down the street more sculptures and gardens.
Oh dear! A little humor...
bad doggy!
I fell in love with this birdbath. Just gorgeous.
I can't believe I didn't take any water photos.
Sorry was just having to much fun.
Great time was had by all.

EDIM For May 14th
The old salty sailor that I bought in
Sidney, BC on one of our sailing
trips to the Gulf Islands. This little fellow
was with us in great weather and in bad.
I used to laugh at his expression. He
always seemed to be saying, " It's
getting a little rough seas, isn't it!"
I do miss our sailing days and the boat.

EDIM for the 13th and Mother's Day
A pillow I made years ago from quilting
scraps, for a friend.
Mother's Day was wonderful. My son took me to
breakfast and then we headed for Seattle for
some fun. Dick Blick's was on the menu where we
found Jimi Hendrix outside.
A great sculpture. So detailed.
After shopping for beloved art supplies we
headed to Volunteer Park, hopefully to
sketch.
Such a gorgeous walk under these magnificent trees.
We were anxious to go inside... but as we came up
to the door we saw it was closed at 4PM. WHAT
4PM on Mother's Day. There were several others
there thinking and saying the same thing.
But we were not to be deterred ... so we took
pictures through the windows.LOL
What I won't do to bring these pictures
to you guys....LOL
Walking back ,here are a few of the garden plants
and statues.
And finally the water tower.
I know, I know lots of photos but it was just so
gorgeous and the weather held.
We had dinner at Araya's in Seattle. Yummy!
It started to rain as we drove home but that was OK.
The plants needed it.
It was a great day!

We are Back From Our Road Trip
We left Washington in a deluge of rain, but as we
headed south towards Mount Shasta things cleared up.
Down through California on the
Grape Vine things really started
to heat up, around 98 degrees.
Coming into Tucson and 100 degrees. Way
too hot. Stayed for 2 days then headed back
across the desert in the heat towards the
California coast.
4,000 plus feet and 104 degrees.
Water I need water mom.
Oh the lovely coast of Laguna Beach and only
80 some degrees.
Wonderful trees sculpted by the wind.
Climbing geraniums at least 12 feet high.
Dining outside by the ocean. (the man in the
background was feeding the birds, click to
enlarge, funny)
On the road again going N. This was up at
Weed, California. Weather was great.
The coast at Lincoln City Oregon.
Teddy thought this was great.
The carousal at Seaside, Oregon.
The weather changed at Gearhart Oregon and
Teddy got caught in a sand storm.
All tuckered out and ready for the trip home
the next day.
It was a fun two weeks and now
I need a vacation from our vacation!
So that's where I've been. This was Teddy's
first long trip and he was a perfect little
gentleman.
