Continued from Last Post.

More of the old but glorious cherry tree.

So many big blossums,

Purple mini rhodie

A lovely peach rhodie with bell shaped flowers.

My favorite "face flowers" the pansies. I worried
about them as one day it was very warm and the next
morning they were covered in snow. :-(

Bellflowers

The flower in this photo belongs on a
ground cover that spreads quickly.
Has varigated leaves and I use them in some of my pots as
they trail nicely. Can't remember the name, sorry.
I had them in a garden and they took over so ripped
some out and tossed them in part of our shady woods. I underline
tossed and two years later they had become a lush ground cover.
Last but not least the start of my crimson azalea patch.

Dogs, TV Commercials and Spring has Sprung

 Don't they look like angels.......NOT
Max has become addicted to TV commercials involving dogs.
He gets so excited watching, then trys to figure out where they went
when the commercial is over. Barks and howls begin.....

He wakes poor Cooper up... "whats going mom, is Max OK?"

But then the next day they want to help me weed. Such
sweet little munchkins, until the next dog on TV.
Max loves the Heinz commercial with weiner dogs in buns
running for the ketchup and mustard. Where do they come up
with this stuff.
On another note Spring is here. So I wandered about the
property shooting photos of early flowers and my wonderful
very old cherry tree.
I rescued this tree some twenty plus years ago and brought
it here to Wildflower. It was old then, but every year it puts on a show.
For some reason blogger won't let me post more pictures .... so
there will have to be a part two. If anyone knows why, let me know.
Til then tootles and may the sun shine down on you all.

Cards and More Cards

Had to start filling up my Etsy shop and
the shop in the next town from here.
I  experimented with some new ideas
and techniques.
I still love flowers and the
sunshine they bring to me.
Below is a beautiful planter a
friend gave to me. So sweet
with the little bird nest and eggs.
I hope to have lots of zinnias that I have saved
from seeds my friend from Italy (at the time) sent
me. Now she is in England enjoying life.
We have had snow above us and now the temps
are in the 70's. Crazy weather, a gardener has
no idea what to do in this weather.
But I'll try. Have a great weekend.

Some Quick Sketches of Flowers I've Planted

Keeping a new sketchbook of plants around the property.

I really love adding potato vines to my pots. They really are hard working little plants
that add some sparkle.

A Few Gift Tags...

I love making up a batch of gift tags large and small.

These are folded cards.

These have cute little envelopes.

These are tags.
All are done with pen, ink and watercolor.

I finally started planting my gardens and
pulling weeds. Believe me my body knows
what I've been up to. LOL. The boys wanted
to help.....
Have a great weekend.

Thinking about the garden...

I have been thinking about my garden
and all the work that I will be having
to do. So I decided to look for some
garden help......
First I will need a pruner
Not exactly who I had in mind...

I will also need a weeder
Again not who I had in mind....

I will need someone to oversee all the workers
Well  what can I say, it's  hard to find
good  help these days.

These ladies dropped by for a snack
yesterday. I have a feeling there will be
several babies come Spring. They
were all very large and I might add
in charge.
They didn't want to leave and who was I
to argue. I guess I will be weeding and
pruning (if there is anything left,ha)
Just wanted to share my day with you.

Week 5 of DLP and a few other things.

Week 5 of Documented Life Project and
it was "Doodle a Border". Right up my alley as
I love to doodle.
The sun was out for a little while today and I noticed my tulips
starting to peak through. I am getting the gardening itch way
to early. Dear me I am in trouble. Dreaming of my blue  Hydrangeas
Way to cold to be thinking of gardening.... better doodle some more

Fall is in The Air and My Paintbrush Too!

I am starting to see pumpkins
everywhere!

So I thought a few Fall cards would be good.

A few flowers too....

Hate the thought of  saying goodnight to
my flower beds. Still have veggies growing...
anyone want some zucchini :-)

Boom , boom . boom....

Look what Teddy found in the vegetable garden.
It is longer than him too.

"Mom it weighs more than me.
That was some fertilizer you used."

I was just there a day ago and I didn't see this!

EDIM for May 17th and 18th

Something I seem to need every time
I go into the garden...
My left palm, what can I say...
it was late when I drew this.
I am a few hours early with this
because I have a full schedule
tomorrow.

A Beautiful Day...

My Saucer Magnolia is very happy to see the
sunshine and so is my peach colored rhodie.
Both are opening up and they are gorgeous.

I might add that Chester has been AWOL all day.

I have several Pieris Japonicas around the place and
they are really putting on a show this year.
I am starting to (that 4 letter word) WEED...
I must say my body would rather read
than weed. I have a feeling that by tomorrow
morning I shall be  shall we say, a bit stiff.
Here's to sunshine!!!!!!!

Sunshine and Tulips...

The tulips I saved from the Thunder Snow are happily starting
to open on this sunny day.

These are my pinks and rose colored ones.

My purples and hot pinks seem to be late
this year.
Caught Chester the resident squirrel dining
on my violas. He has no manners, but told me
he thought these were a delicacy! The nerve
of him....
What is left of the blooms on my weeping cherry
after the thunder snow. Hope mother nature has
finally settled on warmer weather.

Dreaming of Flowers....

Even though it is still cold outside
I can't help dreaming of how I
want my gardens to look this summer.
So I paint. Should be dusting, cleaning,
etc. but I paint. LOL

I Scattered The Seeds...

"I perhaps owe having become a painter
to flowers." Claude Monet
This Spring and all the way through June
it RAINED.
This caused most of my vegetable seeds
to rot.
I was very upset... my time weeding,
preparing the soil, tenderly  planting
somewhat straight rows, and all I had
was a sore back and hands.
SO out of frustration I mixed all my
old flower seeds I had been saving...
and wildly threw them everywhere in
my beloved veggie garden.
Up popped Painted Daisies, CA poppies, Bachelor Buttons,
Gypsophilia, Wild Owl Clover, Veronica, the list just goes on and on...

Bee Balm which brought some honey bees (yea) and
hummingbirds by the dozen.
Liatris just opening.
My favorite Black-Eyed-Susan vine.
(I must admit I bought this vine)
more daisies and
Love -Lies-Bleeding
(which is just opening up. The flower will have
long chenille like flowers in a few more week.
I used to grow a lot of this for dried flower arrangements)
Zinnia's from my friend Monica all the way
from Italy.
Look what showed up down under all the flowers.
Every day something new opens up and
brightens my day. I just had to share
my "veggie" garden with you!
Have a wonderful day.
