Activision is all about helping the environment. Specifically, the giant videogame publisher likes to help preserve the planet's wildlife. To prove this the company has officially become the sponsor (for one year) of a cute real-life wolverine which resides in Edinburgh Zoo, Scotland.

This of course has nothing to do with the fact that Activision Blizzard's X-Men Origins: Wolverine just launched today in the UK. Okay, it's got everything to do with it. They even forced the poor animal to officially change its name to Logan.
To celebrate the launch the X-Men Origins: Wolverine the video game in the UK on May 1st 2009, Activision Blizzard has sponsored the wolverine enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo for one year. In addition, the lead male wolverine has voluntarily changed his name to Logan in respect of the legendary Marvel character.

The sponsorship will help to ensure that Edinburgh Zoo, who has the only wolverines in the UK, can continue its breeding programme throughout 2009 and 2010.
Zoo officials thinks that this is a wonderful idea, as they're always looking for ways to raise money. No animals were harmed in the making of this news story.

"Who's the jackass with the sideburns?"

Bryn says: Awww. How cute. I'll take this Logan over the "real" one any day. I mean, just look at his tiny little paws! No adamantium claws there. So how's the actual videogame looking? Check out GameSpy's forthcoming review.
