Gingham Bunting

Morning folks,
I've spent most of the morning trying to get through to the doctors surgery, but I finally managed to get an appointment this afternoon with the minor ailments nurse so hopefully I'll get something for this sore throat of mine. I can barely swallow anything, I even missed out on one of the wonderful cupcakes at Creative Flourish in Oldmeldrum yesterday on our girly road trip. But I did take a box home for Graham and the kids, and they seemed pretty impressed with their Oreo cupcakes - I'm not sure Scott even tasted his white chocolate one though, I suspect it didn't even touch the sides lol.
I'm back with another sample from the weekend today
BellaBunting from Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers and sakura pencils
Hero Arts Friendly Flags stamp set
Wild Rose Studio - gingham paper pack
Bakers Twine
Diamond White card and lime green paper from The Papeterie

It's All Go

Life is just a bit of a blur at the moment, and this week looks like it's going to be just the same. I was demo-ing at The Papeterie yesterday again - thankyou to everyone who came to see me, especially Steve, who I haven't seen for 23 years. OMG is it really that long since I left school?? wow I feel old now.
And it was a great honour to see the fabulously talented Andy Skinner - he has the most amazing techniques and effects. Hope to see you again next time you're up Andy.
I've had a bit of a lazy day today, because I know I'm going to be flat out this week. I need to do a bit of Uni work, all the kitting for my project for GJWTHF this saturday, I also need to fit in a mercy dash to the cubbyhole to stock Kath up on a vital ingredient for her GJWTHF kitting (I could tell you what that ingredient is, but I'd have to kill you lol), an optitian appointment, a visit to the oldies and keep the kids entertained - should be an interesting week.
So this week I'm going to try and share some more GJWTHF sneaky peeks with you. Can't believe it's less than a week to go - we're so excited as the projects we're doing this time are the best yet.
We still have a few places left if you fancy joining us - just email me to reserve your place, we won't be able to guarantee your place if you just turn up on the day.
I'm going to leave you with another Bella card - I'm really loving these Bella stamps from Wild Rose Studio.

Lots of Prep

I'm all packed up and ready for my day at The Papeterie tomorrow. And I'm really looking forward to seeing Andy Skinner again. Andy is incredibly talented and has some amazing techniques to create a huge variety of different effects on paper and other surfaces.
So if you're in or around Aberdeen tomorrow then pop in and see Andy at work.

I'll also be demo-ing tomorrow, so if you want any promarker or flexmarker hints, tips and advice then come see me. If you want to learn more about the new flexmarkers then I have a class in the afternoon where I'll be covering the basics of colouring with these brush tip alcohol markers, and how they work independently of or alongside promarkers.
I have updated my demo/class page - so please check it out, for details of where I'll be demonstrating and teaching.

I thought I'd share a Bella card with you today

And relax....

What a busy weekend! I've had a fantastic weekend at The Papeterie's big birthday bash - thankyou to everyone who came along and helped us celebrate. It was lovely to meet lots of new faces and old friends.
A special wee wave to the lovely Liz and your sister - I promise to try harder to post more often on my blog :)
Pop on over to The Papeterie blog to see some pics from the weekend, and also the results of the card competition and the birthday raffle. AND as if that wasn't enough, Charlotte is offering some fab candy to celebrate their birthday and the bloagaversary - you have to be in it to win it. You could win a deep box full of a selection of their cardstock, a set of spellbinders nesties and a large embossing folder....
So this week I'm making up some samples for my demo and class on Saturday at The Papeterie. This week my class will be using Letraset Flexmarkers. There are still place available, so if you fancy learning how to use these pens, either independently or alongside your promarkers then phone 01224 802337 to book your place.

So I'm going to leave you with a couple of samples I made for last weekend featuring the gorgeous new Bella stamps from Wild Rose Studio - The Papeterie stocks all of these stamps, the printed panels and co-ordinating paper packs.

Papeterie Birthday Sneaky Peeks

This week looks like it's shaping up to be a week of sneaky peeks.
Today I thought I'd share some wee peekies at some of the samples I've done for this weekend's birthday bash at The Papeterie.
Charlotte revealed the special guests that will be appearing at The Papeterie over this weekend, so pop over to The Papeterie blog for all the details.
I'm so excited about this weekend, Charlotte has so much planned - so many cool offers and discounts and fabulous make & takes and demos
Anyway, here are some sneaky peeks - don't want to give too much away just yet, but these creations feature the super-cute new character from Wild Rose Studio - Bella.
Look out for more sneaky peeks and surprises over at The Papeterie blog this week

Yay, Essay Done

Well I was up until 1.30 in the morning finishing my essay, but hey-ho, it's done now and I'm more or less happy with it. I found it quite difficult to include all the points I wanted to include in 1000 words, but hopefully my tutor knows what I'm saying - we'll just have to wait and see. So that's the last tutor-marked assignment of the module that I'm doing, I just have the big end of module assessment to do which is due in April.
So now that I have that out of the way for now, I can crack on with the crafty work that's been lining up - I've been refusing myself access to the crafty space until this essay was done, or I'd never get out of the bit lol
And I now have loads of prep to be getting on with - if you pop on over to The papeterie blog, you'll see it's their 6th birthday on the 24/25th March and they're having a party all weekend. I'm joining Charlotte and a special guest for some make & takes featuring some gorgeous new products. There's the fabulous Wild Rose Studio stamps and papers, including the oh-so-cute Bella...
And there just might be some of these stunning new Mo Manning toppers fro The Hobby House...
And some special Vintage Chic products...
Charlotte also has a whole host of special offers and freebies for the whole birthday weekend, so it's definitely worth a visit. And I'd better get on with making some samples and kits :)
Before I go, don't forget that The Papeterie are offering free p&p on any paper/card orders for the duration of the Hobbycrafts show at the SECC, so that's from now until Sunday at 4pm. So you should definitely think about stocking up on Diamond White for stamping, and some of the multitude of other colours for matting and layering. I'd recommend the 300gsm for stamping and 160gsm for digital printing in the Diamond White :) Just call the shop or email Charlotte, you'll find all the info on The Papeterie blog's sidebar.

Silver Darlings

I'm finally allowed to post pics of this card - have been sworn to secrecy for the last couple of weeks. One of my regular customers asked me to make a 25th anniversary card for her friends. The only stipulation she had was that she wanted me to include a pic of them on their wedding day and a recent pic . Well I'm not in the habit of making cards with photographs, but this is what I came up with. I thought the best way to show off the 2 photos would be to do a double easel card - and this one took ages to figure out, because I had to carefully measure everything for the edge and corner punches.

The papers are all Wild Rose Studios - Wedding Bells, MS Cherish PATP punches, papermania ribbon bows, silver mirri card, and I printed the years and greeting on the pc.

I have some fantastically exciting news to tell you, but I can't tell you until I get clearance from the high heidyins! Hopefully tomorrow they will remove my gag and I can spill the beans, so watch this space...

and lastly for today - check this face out, believe it or not, Willow is actually 6, not 16!!

Baby Baby

I don't get to make baby cards nearly as often as I'd like - but I think I might just do them for fun to build up a wee stock. Might come in handy if I manage to get a stall at any of the spring fayres. This one is a birthday card for a 1 or 2 year old.
This is another card that I've done for Letraset.

snow

Have you entered my candy? click here to enter before xmas eve

well the kids are off school again today - going by the announcement on the local council website, our head teacher is still optimistic that they'll open tomorrow though (can't see it myself) There is now a backlog of flights at the heliport so it's starting to look a bit dodgy for Graham getting home on the 23rd. And I'm not sure if Tesco are even going to attempt my delivery on the 23rd, if they don't well it'll be beans on toast or maybe just beans for xmas dinner

Here's some more things I haven't shared with you, these are another 2 of my entries for the Cardmaking and Papercraft mag's Cardmaker of the Year competition. This first one was for the LOTV category...

Image is of course from Lili of the Valley, coloured with promarkers
papers are craftwork cards and stampin' up, cardstock is core'dinations, ribbon, pins, button and greeting all from my stash

This was my entry to the Sizzix category...

the leaf/stem paper is Bo Bunny, the lattice paper is Wild Rose Studio, cardstock is core'dinations, string from stash and the greeting is Hero Arts.

Popcorn the Bear

Morning,
well we've woken up today to some snow - a decent covering too, and it's making me nervous because there's more forecast, and heavier snow forecast for the weekend. And I have to drive out to Alford - which is about 40-odd miles west and therefore more likely to have far more snow than here. But hey it couild be worse - I could think of worse places to be snowed in at than a craft shop lol

I thought I'd share another of my competition entry cards with you. Now I was particularly proud of this one, even though it didn't win a prize.

Image: Popcorn Bear, coloured with promarkers

Happy Birthday Baby

It's my baby girl's 4th birthday today - yes, I know she's not a baby anymore, but she'll always be MY baby. She's at the age where it really doesn't matter what gift you get her, she'll ooh and aah over it - so much nicer than the big sulk and "why didn't you buy me the pony/xbox/elephant I wanted????" complete with crossed arms lol in case you don't know, that's her big sister Willow I'm talking about

So here's some pics of my wee girl's big day....

tickled pink!

Sugar Nellies

I've been trying to find the time to catch up with everything and get a few challenges done, but it's not going to plan at all! What with the lovely weather and the constant demands of 3 kids on school holidays, my time doesn't seem to be my own. I coloured a couple of the new Home Grown Manga's from Sugar Nellie recently, and even managed to follow the sketch for the Sugr Bowl with one of them - unfortunately I missed the deadline for the challenge, but hey-ho, I'll share it anyway...
Image is Tiny Tiddler from Sugar Nellie, coloured with my faithful promarkers,
Kraft card from SU, papers from Wild Rose Studio Polka Dots, ribbon from stash and I used the large octagon & large scallop octagon nesties in the cuttlebug, and the garden trellis MS punch

Will be back soon, as I've been photographing other stuff that I haven't shared with you.

Digistamp Boutique - GDT

This week is going to be hectic, I'm a bit like a duck at the moment - I look all calm and serene, but under the water my legs are madly paddling away. We go on holiday on Friday and I wanted to get up to date with all my DT commitments before I go. We're taking the kids to Flamingoland again for a week, and we're hitting 2 birds with 1 stone as we've arranged the ESP Meet for the first Saturday there too. So I'm looking forward to meeting some new faces from Extra Special Parents, and also to seeing some old friends too.

So, moving on, here's a couple of cards I made for my Digistamp Boutique GDT spot. I treated myself to some new papers - you may have noticed over the last few days posts lol I bought the 2 new Basic Grey pads and some paper stacks from Wild Rose Studios which are just perfect for this time of year.

Image: Shelly Turtle & Flowers from Digistamp Boutique, colioured with promarkers
Kraft card from SU, papers from Wild Rose Studio Milton collection, ribbon is Papermania (it has pink flowers on one side so I used the reverse) Flower is Petaloo, card candy and greeting from Craftwork Cards
