Hi, y'all! Happy Thursday! Thanks for all the love you left me on Monday's post. I have missed you guys! February was a super busy month for us, and 2011 is already living up to the word I chose...ADVENTURE! I hinted at having some news, and it's something I'm really excited about. Are you ready?
For the last 10 years I have worked in education sales...such a fun job! We sold everything from Xyron laminators (yep! even big giant ones!) to ID Badge Systems...even vinyl cutters and a 12"x18" electronic die cut system. You didn't know I had all that cool stuff, huh? *wink* I loved every minute of it...had some wonderful opportunities and met some amazing people. But before I found myself in sales, I was actually a hairdresser. For the last several years I have found myself longing to re-enter the beauty industry, and so I decided to seize the scissors and go for it!
The last time I was behind the chair was right after Cole was born, and he's 8 now. Like a goober, I let my license expire, so I will have to re-take my state board exam before I can go to work, but I'm well on my way to getting that done. Since it has been so long, I'm also going to take as many classes as I can to brush up (hee) on my skills and the latest trends. I may even travel to a show or two...I hear there's even one in Las Vegas this summer!
Some of you are friends on Facebook, and have noticed that I have progressively changed my hair over the last six months...and last week I went for a little more dramatic look. The goal was simple: to look more like a hair stylist and less like a soccer mom! So here's a peek at my new 'do:
My cut is pretty much the same, but I went super blonde with some lowlights. I can't wait to add different colors to the mix...and I will warn you now...there's no telling what I'll try! My hair was fuchsia (yes, think Melon Mambo) for a while when I was pregnant with Cole. I loved it! Anyway, I'll share my progress and keep you updated on my journey. And if you have questions or need advice, ask away!
Ok, so enough of my blabbing...I really did stamp something! I couldn't resist the colors in Play Date Cafe's challenge #70. Totally fabulous!

There are a ton of birthdays coming up in our family, so I chose this little birdie in the Birthday Buddies set from Paper Smooches. I'm a huge fan of Kim Hughes, and I'm so excited that she has started designing stamps again! YAY for adventures! *wink*

Mr. Birdie was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Markers. I added some glitter to his hat and sponged ground and sky for him after cutting and embossing the panel with Labels One Nestabilities. The coordinating sentiment from the same set was stamped repeatedly on the Tangerine strip before I sponged the edges of the panel. A few details, a bow, and some dry embossing and my card was all done! Here's a closer look:

Isn't he adorable? And so much fun to color!
Anyway, thanks for listening, and for coming by to see me today. I'll be back soon, but until then, have a fabulous day!
