Where is your light? I wanna see you, so you can make me smile...

Hey, y'all, I'm back again! Told you I was busy! *grin* We're about to head over to my mom's to swim, but I wanted to post my Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday Challenge card before we left. This was a quick and easy sketch brought to us by Lynda. You can see the sketch HERE.

For this card, I used a funky print from the Basic Grey Porcelain 6x6 Pad, a cute little stamp from Inkadinkado, some yummy May Arts Satin ribbon, and my favorite...Basic Grey Bling swirlies. Cute little cards like this totally make me smile "all over my face", too!

Be sure to check out the blogs of all of the Jacksonbelle Rockstars for more sketchy inspiration!

'Bout the only way to keep the fire goin' is to outrun the wind...

Hey yall! It's still Tuesday, and so I have my Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge card for you! Whew...just in the nick of time. *wink*

Today's challenge was 1-2-3. One stamp, 2 embellishments, 3 layers total. AJ was being mean and said the card base counted as a layer...so I had to be nice and not cheat. You didn't think I could do it, did ya?

I used a stamp from the Chandelier set from Inkadinkado, ribbon from May Arts, hardware from We R Memory Keepers, and paper from Basic Grey's Porcelain collection. The main image was stamped once in Versamagic Sahara Sand ink, then again in Jumbo Java. I cut & embossed it with my Labels 4 Nestabilities and sponged all the edges of all the layers with Close to Cocoa ink.

Every little swallow, every chickadee...Every little bird in the tall oak tree...

Happy Tuesday, yall! It's time for another Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge, and this week is a fun one! Kisa did a fun tutorial for the Jbelle Blog, so we are all casing her! It was tough, but I finially decided on this card to case. Here's my version:

I pulled out my Birds Galore set from Inkadinkado (love that set!) and inked it up with various Versamagic Dew Drops. After stamping it onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, I cut it out with my nestabilities and added a Rose Red mat. Using my mat pack and paper piercer, I pierced a border around the white panel, then adhered it to my 5 1/4" card base. The finishing touch was 2 prima flowers. I painted the white one with Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz, and accented the pink one with Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz.

    {Sidenote...Shimmerz are on sale in the Jacksonbelle store!! There are 4 new Shimmerz colors and 2 new Blingz, and they're all 15% off until Friday at midnight! You can see them all HERE.}

Anywho, after the flowers dried, I added a clear dew drop to the center and adhered it to the card. Super easy!

Well, I gotta get back to working on some projects, so I'll have to say bye for now. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team did for this challenge.
    Have a wonderful day!

I wandered around, and finally found the somebody who...Could make me be true...

Hey yall! It's time for another Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge...this week is a sketch and a PRIZE! If you play along with us, you might win some goodies! Check out THIS POST for all the deets.

So, since I have been so good and following sketches and all...you had to know it was time for me to "creatively interpret" (aka totally rework) the sketch. *grin* I wanted to use this stamp from the Beautiful Fairies set from Inkadinkado, so I had to (ahem) adjust a few things. You can still see the basic sketch though, right?
I used my new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper (both sides shown here), and did lots of stitching to my card base. After I stamped the fairy, I colored her with Copics and cut her out with my Rectangle Nestabilities. Then I cut some scalloped rectangles and embossed them with my Floral Screen Cuttlebug folder. To finish it off, I added some lace, Primas, and Pixie Dust Shimmerz to the image and the center dots. The dots and sentiment are from Stamping Bella.

Beginning today and ending Friday the 13th at 3pm EST, Jacksonbelle Embellishments is having a contest! Play along with us by using today's sketch, link your card in the contest post on the Jbelle blog and you will have a chance to win an awesome prize package! The only rules are to use the sketch, link your card by 3pm on Friday the 13th and HAVE FUN!!! A random winner will be drawn Friday night and announced on the Jbelle Blog Saturday morning!

Need a little inspiration? Be sure to check out the Design Teams's creations! You will notice that we all used Inkadinkado stamps! You will find by visiting Lindsey's store, she has put ALL the Inka stamps on sale!!

    Have a fabulous Tuesday!

    If I were a boy...I think I could understand...

Hey yall, I'm baaaaack! I finally found my desk *grin* so I took a break to make a card for this week's Jacksonbelle Challenge. I knew I wanted to use this paper from the Fancy Pants About a Boy collection (love that stuff!), but I also wanted to use my new Chandelier set from Inkadinkado. And after some playing, I found a way to make it work (a la Tim Gunn...when is PR coming back on, Carole?)!

So I stamped one of the chandeliers in Versafine Onyx Black on a lighter part of the Chillin paper, then I sponged around the image in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink and distressed the edges. Then I created a base layer with the Expression paper (love this one!!!) and sponged the edges of it also. The strip across the middle is the Vivid paper, and before sponging, I punched the edge with my Martha Stewart Lace border punch. The ribbon is from May Arts, and it's nice and shimmery (of course), and I added some Spiced Cider Shimmerz to the chandelier image, which made it look even more antiqued and glam. I mounted the whole thing on my Cream card base, and then added the sentiment from A Muse to finish it off.

Check out the eye candy from the rest of the rockin' JBelle girls!
Have a fabulous day, and I'll be back tomorrow with some Bella fun!

The Dream Fairy's coming from Hush-a-Bye Land...a basket of beautiful dreams in her hand...

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! It's time again for the Jacksonbelle girls to have another challenge...this week Lynda gave us a sketch to play with. It's super fun and easy! Now, before I show you my card, don't forget that that today is the last day of Lindsey's storewide clearance sale! Everything in the store is 30% off!! Just enter code Feb30 at checkout to receive your discount! Before you go shop, check out my card for this week's sketch:

This card measures 5 1/2" square. I cut out a 5 1/4" square of Pink Pirouette cardstock, sponged the edges, and layered it with Chocolate Chip. Then I cut a 4" square of my Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper, then cut it into 2" squares. Then I cut mats for all of those and adhered them to the Pink Pirouette panel. Super easy!

The main image is from Inkadinkado, from the Beautiful Fairies set. Isn't she pretty? I colored her with Copic markers, and then added some Diamond Stickles ('cause all fairies are sparkly, right?). After I matted the image with Chocolate Chip, I cut a scalloped square with my Nestabilities, sponged the edges, and mounted the main image on it. I then popped it up on my card with foam dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added some Primas and Daisy D brads. Super sweet!

In addition to the JBelle Blog, you can check out the rest of the JBE Girls Blogs to see more fun stuff with this sketch!

    Have a fabulous day!

Party like a rock...party like a rock star...

Happy Saturday, yall! It's that time again...time for another Sketch for You to Try! We're also welcoming a new guest for February...the amazing Jody Morrow! I'm a huge fan of Jody's and can't wait to see what she comes up with.

I promised another announcement today, and I won't keep you guessing. Today marks the last of my adventures as part of the Sketch for You to Try team. I have enjoyed playing along with my girlfriends for a long time now, and I will continue that when time permits. But one of my New Years Resolutions is to simplify, and part of that means reigning back on some commitments to focus on my family and myself. Boy, that's hard to say! Now before you get all worried, I'm fine, and so is the fam. Just doing a little reorganization, that's all. K? Part of my new adventure, as some of you already know, is that I have taken a position with Stamping Bella as a wholesale rep. Fun, right??? Soon (hopefully) you'll see Bellas and Chichis and Tiddlys and Huggabuggs all over the place! I'm gonna be a bizzy sistah!

Ok, so enough jabbering, on with the card! Here's my take on this week's sketch.
Now, I know it's not my normal pink & brown (seems like I've been on a pink & brown kick for a while, right?), but it sure is fun. I recently got this Rock Star set (thanks to all my Jacksonbelle enabling sistahs) from Inkadinkado, and thought it would be fun paired with this Prima paper. Both of which are apparently gone from the JBE store...sad! But no worries, there are plenty of other goodies there to be snatched, and it's all 30% off! You can check out all the details HERE. The twill is my favorite part...I took it off of a Patron Citronage bottle and saved it from impending trash doom, knowing it would come in handy one day. Gotta love it! I also broke out some of my Distress Stickles which have been sadly neglected.

Well, it's late and I'm pooped, so I'm off to dreamland. You can see the sketch and Jen's sample along with Jody's on Jen's blog. Then, don't forget to visit my girls Amy R, Amy S, Carole, Kelly, and Susan for more eye candy with the sketch. As always, if you play along, use the keyword SFYTT to make your creations easy to find, k?

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You're my Sweetie Pie You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop...

Hey guys! How are ya! Sorry I'm late posting this...it has been a crazy day! It's time for another Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge, and this time we had to choose a card of Michelle's to case. Man, that was tough! I finally settled on this card. I wanted to use my new Little Cupcake set from Inkadinkado...how cute is this???

After I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, I colored it with Copic Markers and cut it out with some layers with my Circle Nestabilities. My main card base measures 4 1/4" square, and I added some October Afternoon paper from the Night Light collection to the bottom. Then I popped the image up on dimensionals and pierced around the top layer. To finish it off, I added some Prima flowers painted with Shimmerz and topped them off with Pearl Dew Drops. I also used Diamond Stickles on the little cuppycake for fun.

You can check out a tutorial on Shimmerz by Michelle on the JBE Blog. Then check out the rest of the team's projects:

Thanks for visiting with me today! Check back in the morning (or late tonight!) for more MFT Blog Hop fun!

'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life...

Happy Tuesday, yall! Today I bring you a card based on the Jacksonbelle Embellishments team sketch for this week. Fun stuff!

I used the clear Heart set from Inkadinkado...also available in wood mounted rubber (Scribble Heart). I love this set! Lots of adorable hearts for all your Valentine cards!
I inked the heart in Pixie Dust Versamagic, then inked the edges in Perfect Plumeria. After inking the edges in Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate and Chocolate Chip, I stamped the image again and cut it out to pop up over the top. The edges were distressed with my scissors.

Basic Grey Bittersweet was the perfect choice for my card base. I stitched it to the chocolate chip layer, then layered onto the  Neenah Classic Crest layer. I added a Pomegranate layer, embossed with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder, then layered onto the card. After assembling the card, I added Candle Light Shimmerz to the heart and to the Thickers (from American Crafts).

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team did with the sketch!

Cocktails and moonlit nights...that dreamy look in your eye...

See, I told you I'd be back! Two posts in one day...can you believe it?  *grin*

We're still playing along for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments New Years Eve bash. This card is for the last challenge, which is to make Lindsey (Ms. Jacksonbelle herself) a birthday card since she has one coming up. Fun stuff! There are more fun things going on, like a treasure hunt and prizes, so make sure you check out the JBE Blog for all the details. And here is my birthday card, just for Miss Linz...
I know!! It's hilarious, right? I love this! I used the Got Cocktails set from Inkadinkado...which is a total deal at $1.99! It looks like they're out of stock right now, but if you pop an email to Lindsey I bet she can hook you up! Anywho, I stamped the roosters in Brilliance Graphite Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then colored it with reinkers and a blender pen. After cutting out several layers with my Circle Nestabilities, I ran the scalloped layer through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and sponged the edges and raised dots with Baja Breeze ink.

The card base layers were stitched together with my sewing machine, then I added some brads from my We R Memory Keepers Hardware kit and some lace trim. I popped up the circle panels, and finally added the sentiment (from River City Rubber Works). Inside the card says "Happy Birthday!" *snicker* I think this is just perfect, don't you?

So....there have been talks of hidden blog candy, and guess what? You found one! Here's what I have to give away:
This is a Basic Grey Milk Chocolate Lotus Chipboard Album...that just sounds yummy!! All you have to do to win is leave me a comment on this post by Friday, January 2nd at 12:00 PM (EST). At that time, I will choose a winner using random.org and post it here. Easy! Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the other JBE Team Members Blogs to look for more chances to win!

And have a wonderfully HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

The heart is a bloom, shoots up through the stony ground...

Hey yall! I hope you're having a fantastic day...and if you're not, you better fix it quick! It's the last day of 2008!

The Jacksonbelle Embellishments team is having a New Year's Eve Bash, complete with challenges and a treasure hunt! All the details are on the JBE Blog HERE.

One of the challenges was to use black, white and some bling. I think I got it all covered in this one! Plus (you know, I had to break these girls in to how I do things...) I added a little blue ribbon. Just cause I wanted to. *wink*

I stamped the bird from the Birds Galore set in Versamark on watercolor paper, then embossed him with black detail embossing powder. After sketching a little trail, I pierced along the line and erased my pencil lines. Then I curved the sentiment (from October Afternoon) along the line and stamped it in Brilliance Graphite Black.

Once everything was dry, I lightly painted the entire card front with Candle Light Shimmerz. So pretty! Then to finish it off, I punched the bottom with my new Martha punch, threaded the ribbon through, and tied it in a bow. Super simple, but pretty elegant I think! I have no idea where I got the ribbon...it was in my stash. *grin*

Don't forget to use the Keyword JBENYE2 if you decide to play along to win some prizes!

We'll be chatting it up on the PCP group, so come join us if you want!!

See you with another project in a bit!

Cause you're hot, then you're cold, you're yes, then you're no...

Hey you guys. I am soooo sorry I haven't posted in so long. My week has been killer. I had a huge bid due for work, so the first 3 days of the week were spent poring over paperwork. Unfortunately, I caught a cold from my boss that took me down today. The doc says it's bronchitis...yuck. *frowny face* I am currently alternating between freezing cold and burning up. Just plain icky.

I do have a card to show you...I think I made it Tuesday night for the color challenge on Splitcoast.
I inked up the bird from Winter Birds Set in Brilliance Graphite Black and stamped it onto Kraft paper. I thought the sentiment from Verve's new Snowflake Splendor set was a perfect match! I cut out the image with my new Labels One Nesabilities die. To accent the image a bit, I colored some of the snowflakes with my White gel pen (the Ranger one is awesome!) and a red Copic marker. I added a little Diamond Dust (thanks a LOT, Anna, AKA the bad bad enabler) and some black brads. Then I ran the edges across my White Craft  inkpad.

The card base measures 4 1/4" square, and I layered the red snowflake embossed panel (sponged with Distress ink) onto black cardstock and stitched around the edge with my sewing machine. Then I popped the main image panel up with pop dots. Super easy!

I hope you like it...and hopefully it'll tide you over until my Sketch for You to Try post on Saturday...I have a feeling I won't do any more stamping than that. Have a happy Thursday!

They say I'm goin' crazy, They say I got a lot of water in my brain...

YAY! I finally got my picture to upload!

I just have a quick little post for you today; I'm sleepy! The first couple of days back to work after a week of vacation = no stamping time. So here's a card I made a while back for Lindsey's Ways to Use it Challenge to use bird stamps. It's Lila's fault, really...she made me buy this set.

I inked up the birdie from Birds Galore (sadly not in stock at the moment) with three different chalk inks. The bird's belly is inked up with Chestnut Roan cat eye chalk inkpad, then I added Dark brown on the back, top of the head, and tail. The "leaves" are Aquamarine cat's eye and Agean Blue Versamagic. (I find that all my Inkadinkado clear stamps work better with chalk ink.) I stamped him on Pearlized Cream shimmer cardstock and embossed it with my Rectangle Nesties. The card base is an A Muse notcard I got at Stamp Salado in June, and the final touch is the A Muse sentiment (one of my faves!) in the bottom right corner in Dark Brown Colorbox Chalk ink.

Hopefully you guys are having a great week...and fingers crossed for stamping time tomorrow! Thanks for visiting!

Stamps: Birds Galore (Inkadinkado), Sentiment from A Muse
Paper: Madeira Blue 4 Bar Note Card (A Muse), Pearlized Cream, Prism Suede Brown Dark
Ink: Colorbox Dark Brown, Chestnut Roan, Aquamarine, Versamagic Agean Blue

Whoooooo are you, HOO HOO, HOO HOO...

It's that time again...for Jen's Sketch for You to Try! This week was an interesting one...and I decided to make it super simple with my Inkadinkado Birds Galore set.

I really love this color combo! Buckaroo Blue is one of my favorites, and I'm so sad it's gone!

This was a strange week in Texas. We had a tornado warning early in the week, then it was in the 80's...then we got snow. Seriously...what is going on??? My kids are soooooo confused.

My card this week is pretty easy to figure out, so I'll spare you the details. Except that it measure 3.5" x 5.5". I wanted it to be a little longer, but it still fits in a regular envie. Aren't I genius?! *wink*

Make sure you check out Carole, Susan, & Amy's projects for this week, and also Joann's guest designer project on Jen's blog. Have a fabulous weekend!!

    Stamps: Birds Galore, Amuse Sentiment
Paper: Really Rust, Buckaroo Blue, GP White, Kraft, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Buckaroo Blue, Chocolate Chip, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Cappucino Baubles, Marvy Punches, Paisley Embossing Folder

Fly away, sweet bird of prey, fly, fly away...

YAY! I got the sketch done!! I am sooo sorry I flaked on yall today, but I'm back in the swing of things, I promise. I better be, cause I have a super busy week coming!

So, when I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use this image from Birds Galore. It's an Inkadinado clear set that Amy went on a mission for since I couldn't find it. Thanks, girl!!!

I had this image stamped and already colored, so this card didn't take me any time to make. I wanted the bird and flowers to take center stage, so the rest of the card is VERY simple. I hope it's not too boring for ya...but I like it!

Ok, it's super late so my post is going to be short tonight, but I will be back tomorrow with something else fun!

I also want to mention something to you that Julee shared with us...ALL Verve stamp sets are 15% off this month!!! Yes, you heard right!! AND...........Julee has decided to offer FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $40. WAHOO!! Yall know how I hate paying shipping, so I am thrilled that she's done this!! Anywho, just wanted to enable! Oops, I mean SHARE. *wink*

Stamps: Birds Galore (Inkadinkado), Essential Sentiments (My Favorite Things)

    What's the Story, Morning Glory?

This greeting is making that song get stuck in my head... it's probably a good thing you can't hear me croak it out right now. lol

Here's another card with the Inkadinkado clear stamps I got this weekend...this one is The Aviary Assortment and it's my favorite. Lindsey finally got them uploaded so you can buy 'em now!

So I really have been working on my watercoloring lately, trying to master it. Boy it's not as easy as it looks! I colored Mr. Owl (who looks totally thrilled btw) with my waterbrush and reinkers...I think I did pretty good. Maybe I can be like Anna when I grow up. ;)

    Stamps: The Aviary Assortment (Inkadinkado)

    Inka choco latah ya-ya

Are yall having a good weekend? Boy mine has been interesting. First of all I am starting to not feel so hot. I have a sore throat and a cough...boo. Second, I went across town today to meet up with a friend and my car died. Yep, wouldn't start. So I had to buy a new battery, thank goodness that's all that was wrong. I definitely needed some stamping therapy!!

Luckily I met my friend Christy at Imprints and found these amazing new Inkadinkado clear stamp sets. Jacksonbelle will be carrying them in her store and you will definitely want to check them out. I am in loveeeeeee!! I thought they'd be perfect for Julee's Mojo Monday (aka Shannan's Mojo Sunday) challenge. These chickies are just too much!!

I think you can figure out how I made this, so I'll get on with my tagging bit. I've been tagged now by Lindsey and Julee (and who knows who else), and I have to tell you 7 MORE random things about me. So let's give this a go:

    1. I do things better under pressure. When given a project, I usually complete it right before it's due. I mean *right* before. lol
    2. I listen to the Hairspray soundtrack every day. It makes me smile. And yes, I sing at the top of my lungs.
    3. I have the straightest and shortest eyelashes known to man. I hate to curl them and I usually don't wear mascara.
    4. My husband went out to grill the other day and a GIANT RAT was in the grill. We ordered out.
    5. There is a video of me tapdancing on a giant cardboard box in a nightgown, patent leather shoes, and a black curly short wig at age 5. I will never EVER live that down.
    6. On the same video I decided to get my whistle and pretend to direct traffic. HOW FRIGGIN EMBARRASING. They still make fun of me for that.
    7. I know every word to the Sound of Music. When I was little I wanted to marry Kurt.

Ok let's see...there's rules. Here they are:
ONE - Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
TWO - Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
THREE - Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.

I will tag Charmaine, Christi, Susan, Carole, Joan, Tandra & Becky. Have fun visiting them!
