Rollin with the Homies

As soon as I saw this stamp from Gina K's new Tickle Your Funny Bone set I cracked up!! It's called "You Know You're Old When" and it's hilarious.

The inside of this card reads:

"Getting lucky means you found your car in the parking lot."

Ok. Now. I AM NOT OLD.
But sometimes, I lose my car.
Don't you??

Anyway, I digress.

I've been practicing my Copic marker coloring and I am quite proud of this image!! After I colored it, I covered the car & windows with Diamond Glaze to make them shine. It's a very simple and quick card (measuring 4 1/4 square) that I can't wait to give on the next birthday!!

Hope yall have a great Friday...and make sure you check out the Verve Blog for my project today!

How Sweet It Is to be Loved by You...

So it's finally time for the Gina K Designs release...SEVEN new sets!! WOWEE! And not just that, but included in the seven are 1) a new Stamps for a Cause set which benefits Diabetes, 2) a set designed by Gina's daugter Alicia, 3) a set designed by my friend Carolyn King aka Cammie on Splitcoast, and 4) a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger aka melmel on Splitcoast. The other 3 are awesome as well...and you can check them all out here. You'll only see 6 new sets here, and that's because the seventh is FREE when you buy 3 sets! How cool is that?!

So enough blabbing, I have to tell you something. When I finished making this first card, I looked at it and thought, "HEY! My mojo came back!" Now what's funny is that I hadn't really thought it was missing, but this card is so much more "ME" than anything I've done lately, and I was really happy about that. Hopefully I can take the time to find "ME" in each and every design from now on...at least I can try! Thanks for stickin with me while I go through my newfound identity crisis. *snicker*

This second card is made with Melanie's set called Just so Hippy. I LOVE this hippo...she was just so fun to color!! In keeping with finding my stamping self, I sewed a funky double border on the paper and added some bling. I forgot how much I loved this Basic Grey Blush paper and it's color palette...hopefully the new Basic Grey Two Scoops will be just as fun!

Well I am now off to bed...it's reeeeeeeeeeally late, but I hope you have a great Sunday! And don't forget to check back on Monday for a My Favorite Things sneaky peek!

Let's Hear it for the Boys!!

Oops! No! Girls!!

So here's a sneak peek of one of the SEVEN sets being released tomorrow. And this one is soooo me...it's all songs and images to go with them! YAY!

I stamped the girls (that's me and Carole drinking MD2020, by the way) in Versafine Onyx Black, and colored them with my Copic markers. The bracelets are highlighted with my Spica Clear Glitter pen, and the glasses are covered with Diamond Glaze so that they look like glass. So cute!

Tomorrow is the big day...the Gina K Release Party!! It's going to be fun, I can guarantee that. There will be a party thread HERE tomorrow night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM Central time. I hope you can join us!

Stay tuned tomorrow for more fun stuff including a Sketch for You to Try sample!

I missed it

The whole weekend, that is. Well, almost. We spent most of the afternoon in the ER again today, so no stampin time again. :( No news yet on Josh other than pain meds and the MRI scheduled for Monday. We'll see what happens then.

I thought I'd share this card I made with my Gina K stamps. Now, I know I said the last card was simple, but this one's wayyyy more simple. lol

The piggy was stamped in Palette Hybrid Noir on Whisper White cardstock, and colored with Prismacolors & odorless mineral spirits. I pierced a row above & below him, and matted on a scrap of Basic Black.

I glued a piece of white on the inside, and punched out a spot for my sentiment. For some reason, this piggy looked sorry, so I gave him the "Sorry, I missed it." sentiment from Gina's Punchy Words set. This set is free when you order 3 sets! Cool, huh?

Anyway, I finished the card off with some gingham ribbon and popped the pig up a little. Hope yall had a great weekend! Hopefully I'll see ya tomorrow!

Stamps: Punchy Words & Piggy from Gina K Designs
Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir
Cardstock: River Rock, Whisper White, Basic Black

There's Egg on My Face

Ok, well, to be specific...in my EYE. Not a big deal for the normal person, but to someone who carries an epi-pen and is allergic to eggs...not so fun.

I decided last night to make French Toast for my boys for dinner. On the weekends we like to have "Breakfast for dinner" sometimes. I am allergic to eggs (VERY allergic), so I couldn't eat them, but I fixed them up and the boys loved it. I think somehow in the process, I got egg either under my fingernail or on my finger, and then must have brushed my left eye. I have never had a reaction with external contact, just when I eat them, but now I know...it works both ways!! My eye started to itch and water, then swell. Then my nose started itching and running. Then my throat, but all of it was only on the left side. My throat actually swelled up!! From getting egg in my eye!! How weird is that?? The good news is that it went away without me getting really sick or having to use my epi-pen, and it was only about 30 minutes of total discomfort before I was back to normal. I just thought it was interesting, and I will no longer make French Toast.

Ok, enough babbling, here's my card for today. This is another sample I made for the Gina K release. It's one of my old faithful layouts that I love. Notice the yummy ribbon? It's from the pkg that Charmaine sent me!! I love it.
I hope yall are having an amazing weekend! It has been so nice here, FINALLY! We have all the windows open to enjoy the outside. I have a feeling though that this is all the snow I'm going to get. :D

Is it November already???

Sorry, yall I'm running a little crazy and late today...we were up very late having fun at the Gina K release party!! If you haven't yet, go take a peek at her new store...it's amazing!! So many great things to see, and everything is new!

Here's a sample I made that uses the new Got Snow set. It's sooo cute!

I wanted to use the greeting to make my own patterned paper, so I used my Stampamajig and stamped Got Snow? over and over on the Ruby Red cardstock. The bottom right corner one was overstamped with Versamark and embossed with Seafoam White EP.

I watercolored the main image, added some "snow" with my Marvy Puffy Velvet fabric marker, and then stitched around the edges.

Hopefully yall have a great day...DH is having a procedure on his back tomorrow early, but make sure you check the Verve blog for some sneak peeks of the new upcoming releases!!

This cracks me up....

No pun intended...Ha! Get it?? CRACK?? lol

I didn't realize how dark this card was until I uploaded it today! :( Maybe when I get home I can try to take another pic.
ETA: I think this pic is better!!

Anyway, this card is one I made for Gina K's big release tomorrow. When she first told me about this set, I laughed so hard...and I couldn't wait to play with it!!

My first thought for the plungers was to line them all up and do a long card with them. This card will fit in a normal business sized envelope (I think?) and was super easy. I did use my Stampamajig to make sure the plungers were all lined up nice and neat, and my sentiment was straight. ;)

There are a few other sneak peeks to be had...check out these peeps!

There may be more as the day progresses...so make sure you check all the Design Team links (on the left side of Gina's blog).

And tonight...we're going to parrrrrrrrtaaayyy!! The fun starts at 10:00 pm central and goes until the big reveal at midnight...there will be fun and games and prizes and general overall craziness! Make sure to bookmark this page, which is where we will be!

My Big News is.......

It's almost Christmas!! Yay!!

Ok, don't hit me. I'm kidding.

Last week I was sitting, minding my own business, when I got an email. From GinaK! She asked me to call her, which I did as soon as I freaked out for a second. And she invited me to join her design team! SHUT UP, you say!! I can't believe it myself! But it's true! I am honored to be a part of this group...and there are 5 other new talented stampers joining with me!!

She's doing this because there are some MAJOR changes brewing over at GinaK Designs...I tell you what, I don't think that woman sleeps. The surprises will be revealed November 1st...with a pre-party in the GinaK forum on Splitcoast.

So I thought I'd make a cute little Sandy Claws card to celebrate. I stamped him in Palette Hybrid Noir on Whisper White cardstock and then colored him with Prismacolors and odorless mineral spirits. I gave him a few extra spiffy details...used the Marvy Puffy Velvet fabric marker on his hat and sleeves. It's like a paint pen, but when you heat it, it puffs up! Fun, huh??? Then I thought he needed a slick ride, so I painted his sleigh with Diamond Glaze. That did the trick!

Added some brads, a cuttebugged layer, and some ribbon across the bottom, and I was finished! What do ya think? I know the other DT members are gonna ROCK the new stuff, so be prepared to be enabled!! *wink*
