February 2012 Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

Hey y'all! Welcome to the February Diva Inspirations Blog Hop! The fabulous Diva Inspirations team is here to start your month off right with a little Verve inspiration! If you're here from Lynda's blog, you're on the right track! If you just happened upon my blog, you'll want to start at the Verve Blog to catch all the fabulous eye candy!

I'm still under the weather, so this will be short and sweet. Here's today's card, using Jeremiah 33:3 Plain Jane from Verve.

I stamped the fabulous scripture in Stazon on a piece of canvas from Canvas Corp. I scribbled on the edges of the canvas with a blue Gelato from Faber Castell, then did a running stitch around the edges with Mandarin twine. The little heart embellishments were created with the From The Heart Die Set. Here's a closer look:

Now that you've endured my blabbering, it's time to visit SONY! Don't forget to leave a little comment love for each of the divas participating in the hop for a chance to win some Vervey goodness of your very own. Have a fabulous day!

Don't you feel like the wind is always howling, Don't it seem like there's never any light...

Hi y'all! How is everybody today? I was doing a little experimenting last night and decided to create a canvas. Be gentle...this is my very first collage-mixed media-ish piece.

I started with a 5x7 canvas and Roses Among Us from Stamping Bella. The roses didn't stamp well on the canvas, and I didn't have any tissue paper, so I went with some vintage book print instead. I scribbled some Gelatos on the stamp, added some water, and then stamped!

The rest was covered with a combination of acrylic paints, Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint, and a little corrugated cardboard. Again...I had no idea what I was doing! But the glittery heart looked good, so I threw that on there as well. Some stickles on the flowers, and a handwritten sentiment finished it off. I made a huge mess, but I sure had fun! I hope you like it.
