I love this little Gracie stamp and wanted to pair her with a patriotic sentiment since lots of our patriotic
celebrations have included a day at the beach!  My birthday is a couple of days before the 4th of July, so it's always a big celebration!  My husband (USN, retired) usually takes extra time off and we do something special.

Here's my card for today's Friday sketch at Paper Craft Planet, using the fun new Fabulous Floral Gerbera stamp from Flower Soft and components from one of the new digital downloads.  I was inspired by "watermelon" colors in anticipation of summer!

More than Meets the Eye!

041913-1-deb
sk041913

Hi! I'm here with a simple Paper Craft Planet sketch to help you welcome the weekend!  At first glance, it is a super clean and simple design, but you'll see from the open tri-fold card that there is more than meets the eye.  I've used a couple of newly released Flower Soft stamps (You've Reached the Top! and  Little Friend) to construct a cute scene that goes along with the sentiment, which is the only thing that's visible when the card is closed.

   041913-2-deb

Feel free to make your design as simple or as detailed as you like!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Be sure to upload it to the PCP gallery, and link to your creation in the challenge thread

I have a little surprise BONUS for you on the PCP blog, so be sure to check the bottom of that post for more info!

Playing Santa Blog Hop!

The Gourmet Rubber Stamps girls are playing Santa!  We're having a blog hop, sharing projects and each giving away some GRS stamps.

My card was inspired by Dina's "cool colors" VSN challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  These cute Stick Chicks are Building the Snowman.  They were stamped with Memento, and colored with Copics.  Their snowman is embellished with sparkly Stickles, and Flower Soft snow.

Visit my team mates' blogs to see their projects.  You have today and tomorrow to leave comments.  Winners will be announced on Monday.  (ETA:  Congrats to Denise, who was the random winner of Building the Snowman!)
Most of the supplies for my card are from i {heart} papers.  Today, for Kate's 12 days of Christmas sale, Spellbinders dies are 35% off. While you're there, peek at her selection of GRS stamps!  ;)

CardMaker-Flower Soft Blog Hop!

I'm so VERY excited to welcome you to the CardMaker-Flower Soft blog hop!  The CardMaker blog team is joining forces with our Flower Soft team to bring you some animal-themed inspiration!

You should have arrived here from Glenda's.  If you're jumping into the middle, head to the CardMaker blog to start at the top!

I love kraft and black together and black ultrafine Flower Soft is one of my favorites, so my card for today's hop is a simple design with a cute canine from Gourmet Rubber Stamps' Playful Pals.  It's a no-frills, guy kind o' card that's quick and easy to put together.  The tiny polka dot is actually from a Christmas designer paper pad, but it's a great contrast for the black and white dog bone cookie cutter stenciled background that I sponged with white pigment ink and dotted with Copic opaque white.

From here, you're headed to my friend, Jennie's!  I can't wait to get home from my Wednesday morning Bible study to jump on the hop myself!  :)

Emery Board Sleeves

Today I'm revisiting a project from a few years ago for the Monday Tutorial on Paper Craft Planet.  These are perfect little "thought gifts" that would also make great stocking stuffers for Christmas.  In fact, they make nice girlfriend birthday presents any day of the year!

My project uses a new product from Flower Soft/Katy Sue Designs, cake baking embellishment molds.  I used mine with some Martha Stewart white crafter's clay, which I colored with my Copic markers.

These little sleeves are really fast and easy to put together, so you can make a batch of them!  You can either view a video or see step-by-step photos here!

The Lampost

Today's project is a long, tall card is made with a Flower Soft stamp, The Lampost. It reminds me of the street lamps in the French Quarter of New Orleans, so I paired it with the Tessatina border that also brings to mind the look of delicate wrought iron.

The Lampost, a "naked rubber" stamp, is on sale now at a huge markdown!  Get it for only $1, this week only!

I stamped the image with Memento ink, and colored it with Copic markers, stamping another to fussy cut and pop up with dimensional adhesive dots.  I used a scrap of acetate from some packaging to stamp the "glass" with Stazon, and added a Stickles flame.  It is embellished with a dusting of ultrafine Flower Soft, a few sprigs of greenery punched with Martha Stewart's fern punch, and red rhinestone "holly berries."

Flower Soft Blog Hop

Here's another really CAS card using Flower Soft's new Nativity stamp set for today's Flower Soft blog hop.  You should've arrived here from Dawn's.

I used Clearsnap white pigment ink to stamp a star, then embellished it with Copic Opaque White and some Hint of Violet Glitter Frosting for a starry night sky above The Three Kings, stamped with Memento Nautical Blue.  The torn paper dunes are inked with Ranger distress ink.

From here, you're hopping to Jeanne's.  If you missed the start, head to the Flower Soft blog!

CAS Christmas

I love using patterned paper and pretty embellishments on my cards, but ever so often less is more.  This Flower Soft Christmas snow globe image is one that is elegant enough to stand alone.  For this card, a layer of white narrowly bordered in blue and trimmed with silver allows this serene setting to shine on its own.  The only accent is a bright white bow trimmed with a silver snowflake and sparkling blue jewel.

Visit the Flower Soft blog to see what my team mates have been creating with their Flower Soft Christmas snow globe kits, Flower Soft "fluff" and Flower Soft display globes.

Flower Soft Halloween!

This week our Flower Soft team has been sharing projects made with our Halloween downloads.  These are really easy to print, then cut and emboss with Spellbinders dies, and assemble.  That makes them very quick to put together.

These bright colors are so fun to work with!  A little bit of black to accent them really makes them pop!

Flower Soft Fun!

All of us at Flower Soft have been in The Christmas Spirit this past week!  That's the name of a brand new sentiment set that goes with another new Christmas set, Santa and Pals!  They're both from the Wine Buffs series.

This diorama card was so fun to make...just a little different than the usual fold, and perfect for showing off how these stamps can work together to make a silly, three-layer scene!  I adjusted the measurements of Diana's tutorial just a little, so that when laid flat, my card is 4.25 x 5.5 inches and fits into a standard envelope. It needed that extra height to fit Rudolph on that snowy torn paper hill!  I'm sorry that you can't see his shiny ruby red sparkly nose in this shadowy photo!  Mornings have been foggy, and it has rained nearly every afternoon, so this picture was taken indoors with the help of my Ott light.  I suppose we have needed the rain, so I am not complaining, but I'd much prefer a picture in natural light, so I'll try again when the weather is better!

Christmas Spirit(s)

Here's a whimsical holiday hostess gift using new stamp sets from Flower Soft, The Christmas Spirit and Santa and Pals!  It was quick and easy using Spellbinders circles, a few designer paper and ribbon  scraps, Memento ink and Copic markers.  I colored it intending to hang it from a bottle of red, but we only have white, so there ya go!  I also couldn't help but draw and paper-piece a little bartender's apron for this festive fella to wear!  ;)

Creative Ways to Use Toppers

All week long our Flower Soft team has been sharing projects featuring creative ways to use Flower Soft toppers.  I used this beautiful image from Magical Santa to adorn the cover of a December notebook.

I kept things ultra simple (no glitter or fluff) because I expect this project to see some serious every-day use.  The gold peel-off sticker borders and gold cording tied around the spine add some elegance without making the organizer bulky or awkward to use.  It will go shopping for groceries and gifts, and in between excursions will decorate the table beside my chair where I have my morning coffee and organize plans for the day.

The inside of the cover has designer paper pockets for stashing receipts and stuff.  It will be a great place to keep a few hand-made gift tags.

The right side has a post-it pad and a place to store a pen or pencil.  It will be ready and waiting for notes on my Christmas card and thank-you card lists, friends who've called, gift-giving ideas, grocery lists...there's always a lot to remember in December, and this will help me keep it all together, literally and figuratively. ;)

There are magnets to hold the cover closed, so everything will stay right where it should.

Visit the Flower Soft blog to see the great projects my friends have been posting all week.  You can also visit their personal blogs for all the details.

Scrap-It Frames from Flower Soft

Welcome to another fantastic Flower Soft blog hop!  You should've arrived here from Linda's blog

Today our team is sharing projects made with a really cool new Flower Soft product, Scrap-It Frames.  These are easy-to-use shadow-box style fold-and-tuck frames.  You can use all kinds of media to alter them, and then insert your own art or photo.  Just wait until you see everyone's amazing projects!

For my vintage collage I used October Afternoon patterned papers with Flower Soft's silhouette Santa stamp of Santa double-checking his list.  I adhered some striped MME designer paper to the frame, added Spellbinders fleur de lis corners embellished with buttons and sparkly embroidery floss.  This is one of my favorite color combos!  I really love how all these elements work together!

From here, you will be visiting Cibele!  Here's the entire list, just in case you get lost along the way!

Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Creator

Welcome to our Flower Soft blog hop featuring Mabel Lucie Attwell card creators...you should've arrived here from Linda's blog!

This card creator image is a real cutie, the perfect colors and size for a patriotic tent card!  It's nice that this non-traditional fold still fits in a traditional envelope.  The card creator includes the rectangular image panel as well as a portion of the image to fussy-cut and pop up on dimensional adhesive.

I coated a small paper-punched heart with Flower Soft glue and covered it with Diamond Range Ruby Flower Soft to make an accent for the safety pin that suspends a tiny star charm from a sheer twinkle ribbon bow.  It adds a pop of color and just enough sparkle!

Flower Soft Santa Toppers

Welcome to my blog, With a Stamp and a Song!  If you're hopping with the Flower Soft design team, you should've arrived here from Linda's blog!  We are sharing some beautiful projects using our new series of Santa toppers.  These are gorgeous full color printed images that quickly create the focal point of a card, ready to be embellished with Flower Soft or Glitter Frosting for a fast and easy finish.  They're great for "mass production" of cards for your Christmas list, but they would also make lovely coordinated gift sets or even impressive home decor projects for the holidays.

I used Forest Santa to make a simple, standard-sized card.  Santa's beard and the fur trim of his suit are embellished with ultrafine white Flower Soft.  There's even a twinkling sprinkling of Glitter Frosting snow illuminated by Santa's lamp.  I just love the beautiful blue of this glowing scene!  (It's so hard to do justice to a photo with Glitter Frosting!)

For the inside, I used (stamped off) Memento ink to stamp a Silhouette Stamps Christmas Sentiment under a light dusting of snowflakes.  Glitter Frosting brings a little sparkle without overwhelming these delicate images.  I used distress ink on the edges to bring the warm woodland hues of the topper to the inside of my card.

Peace!

It's time for another Flower Soft design team hop, this time to reveal "The Magic of Christmas!"  These are beautiful card creator kits, silhouette stamps and/or stickers.  You should have arrived here from Linda's blog.

For my card, I cut a Spellbinder's circular window in some sparkly card stock, then adhered the card creator image under the opening on a mat that was adhered to the card front.  The curve of the lovely Peace sentiment sticker echoes the curve of the opening...a stamped, fussy-cut evergreen silhouette that is glittering with snow (glitter frosting and ultrafine white) adds dimension and silver peel-off stickers line the edges.

From here, you're headed to Cibele's...be sure to also visit our Facebook fan page, and the Flower Soft blog.

Flower Soft's Wishing on a Star Blog Hop

I posted the teeniest of peeks of this card on Monday and today our Flower Soft design team is back with a blog hop of full card reveals!  Isn't this such a serene Christmas scene?!  It is made with Flower Soft's Wishing on a Star series of card creator kits, silhouette stamps and gorgeous glitter frosting...I love the soft monochromatic winter blues with just a pop of black!  So elegant!

Wishing on a Star has soft, lovely colors, beautiful images in either stamps or stickers, and wonderful sentiments in beautiful, delicately embellished swirling fonts.  You will love it!  Be sure to visit our FaceBook page this afternoon because Jen has some surprises to share!  All the fun will begin at 2 p.m. EST.
