Gingerbreads E'rywhere!

Hey friends, how are you?

We have been invited to our son's in-laws for Thanksgiving - our two girls are spread out and our youngest daughter will be traveling with her in-laws, so it's a quiet time for Jim and I...and top it off, I will be dog sitting. 😀 BUT, if it works out, we will join them for a bit.

I wanted to make a gift for our hostess, something she could use - at home and for the holidays, so I created 8 gingerbread tags - 4 girls and 4 boys, paired with a gingerbread mug and tea towel. And when the to/from tags are cut off, the gingerbread all become ornaments you can place on your tree or use for decorations!

Everything on the gingerbread tags comes from Pretty Pink Posh (Gingerbread Holder and Christmas Holder Additions); I then finished them off by adding holiday greetings and to/from tags using The Greetery's Tear Strip Tags (I've owned this die and stamp set HOW LONG, and just used them for the first time 😁).

The final picture shows the large mug and a hand towel tucked inside; I think the set will make a nice gift showing our appreciation for the invitation and the work that goes into feeding a large group of peeps!

Mix It Up Challenge Blog - Inlaid Die Cutting

Hello friends - how are you doing?

We are back at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog (MIUCB) with another super fun challenge - inlaid die cutting, so many was you can do this! I love to send birthday cards or tags, but I leave them blank so the recipient can re-use them. This is no exception!

I created a watercolor smooshed birthday tag with various Distress Inks and a retired Reverse Confetti CELEBRATE die. Rather than the tag with the Reverse Confetti set, I used the largest tag die from the Hero Arts Nested Infinity Tags. I smooshed the inks on and dried with a heat gun, I then cut the word CELEBRATE from the tag, as well as, black cardstock, and a few layers of white cardstock. I inlaid the black CELEBRATE into the tag; I then adhered the white layers to the watercolor piece and adhered the stacked CELEBRATE to the tag slightly offset to the left and down; this way you can peek the black cardstock. I also splattered some black ink for a bit more texture.

I then stamped and colored, with Copic markers, some balloons and presents from MFT's XXX set. I added some white gel pen accents and adhered a blank tag to the back for a handwritten message. I failed to capture a photo of the back of the tag, but it has the Hero Arts sentiment 'Some things just get better with age and you are definitely one of them', I love this Hero Arts birthday sentiment set - so many great sentiments!

Hope you will join us at the MIUCB with an inlaid die cutting project, or ANY project. We always love 'anything goes' creations too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mix It Up - Anything Goes (+ open techique optional)

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well - can you believe November is here? Wow - that's breathtaking! I have two posts today, hope you'll check them both out.

This month for the Mix It Up Challenge Blog, it's anything goes with the option of any technique you want. Easy peasy - hope everyone joins us!

I recently attended a little craft getaway and made these tags with Snowy, my all-time favorite snowman, I use this stamp every single year - almost always on tags. 😁 I stamped a bunch, colored them with Copics, layered onto a white tag; I pulled papers from THIS and THIS paper pad. Little scraps here and there; then I tied on some more little tags and various quotes from the Doodlebug pad, finished them off with red and white twine as well as white thread.

On the far right, you can see I made two more smaller tags with the MFT Festive Friends.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will take some time and join us at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog.

Love to Scrap Challenge - BINGO

It is our very last post for Love to Scrap; I'm not sure when/if the blog will return. Leslie - owner - is incredibly amazing, I have deeply enjoyed working for her!

Our last challenge is a fun one - BINGO! Here is the BINGO challenge we are using:

I went with G: gold, red, emboss, charm, green. I cheated on two, 😕, I actually have debossing on my tags and I don't own any charms, so I added some bells, because who wouldn't love a tag on their gift with jingle bells!

The tags were made using the Tag Team Duo dies, foil plate, and stamps. This was my first time working with my hot foil machine...boy did I learn A LOT; the right foil makes all the difference. I tried a million times, maybe more 😃, to use one of the prism foils; I tried shims, no shims, different papers, I tried all sorts of things and NEVER got a solid transfer; but I switched to this solid gold, and voila, the tags turned out magnificently.

I hope you have time to join us this busy month; we would love to see your creations!

Thanks for stopping by!

WHAT'S IT TAKE:

Stamps: The Greetery Tag Team Duo
Accessories: The Greetery Tag Team Duo Dies, Altenew Enamel Dots, Hot Foil, jingle bells, gold cord, red velvet ribbon

JUGS #611 - Color Combo

Hi friends! For those celebrating Thanksgiving, I want to wish you and your loved ones a beautiful day!

I am in love with the color combo at Just Us Girls this week (image below) - swoon! My hubby left town today, so it was our oldest daughter, our son, and myself in town. We were invited to spend the day with our son's girlfriend's family - follow that? They have been dating just over 2 years so we have been around them a few times but today was ALL THE PEOPLE and so much fun! AND so much food!

I made 12 of these gift tags for the mom and gave them to her with a large candle. I'm told she likes candles as much as I do!

I used a ton of different products on these tags, a couple different stencils and an embossing folder for the front of the tags. I created birds in both Aqua Mist and Confetti Cake; I used PTI Vintage cream and TE Sugar Cube (mainly Sugar Cube) inks to sponge the tags - either directly on the 3D embossing or through stencils.

I added shading to the birds and stamped all the leaves, flowers, and berries using various TE inks, my definite go to inks! Before assembling, I added some die cut sprigs in vellum and some Mocha script ledger to each tag.

I added a blank tag and some additional stamping on the back side. Thanks for stopping by!

WHAT'S IT TAKE:

Colour Crazy Challenge - Lee Holland Art

Oh goodness, you are in for a TREAT this week at the Colour Crazy Challenge! Lee Holland has the most adorable artwork available on Etsy - check her shop out HERE!! Today I am using this sweet bunny.

I tend to always color flowers pink, so I ventured out and tried some purples - what do you think? I used grays on the bunny - I wanted her (see those eyelashes I added? 😍) to appear white, but I may have added too much gray, particularly to the ears?? I did want the tummy to be gray though!

Once I finished coloring wtih Copics, I cut the image using Reverse Confetti's Grid Stitch Tag (cut twice, adhered back to back). I fancied it up with some white lace, purple ribbon, some sheer white with black polka dot ribbon and some sparkling sequins. Added a banner sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will take time to join us with any project this week - as long as it includes coloring! See you again soon!

WHAT'S IT TAKE:

Stamps: Lee Holland Bunny with Flower (digital)
Accessories: Reverse Confetti Grid Stitch Tag, misc. white lace, misc. white sheer with black polka dot ribbon, PTI Winter Wisteria ribbon, Copics, Lucy's sequins, white gel pen

Emma and the Snowball!

 Hi friends!

After some craziness with Covid (daughter thinking she had it, thank goodness she was negative; but then the following week, a co-worker tested positive), I am finally back with a post for Colour Crazy Challenge! And just in time to celebrate with Fred She Said using Emma and the Snowball.

I think this image would be PERFECT for creating lots of holiday tags in all different colors. I enjoyed coloring Emma with Copics, then added lots of details with a white gel pen and sharpie. I embossed a sentiment and the edges of the tag with a sentiment and Brutus Monroe rainbow embossing powder - but it really doesn't show up. 😒 I added some texture paste, let it dry and sponged on some ink; I added another tag on the back side to contain a holiday message; finished it off with this velvet ribbon and some bells.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you'll join our challenge with your project featuring coloring, that's the only requirement!

Take care and stay safe!

Hugs,

Alcohol Mixed Media - Love you Lots

Hi friends; thanks for stopping by, I love when you visit!

My closest friend and I used to work together; however, she recently took a new job so I wanted to make a fun card...and she loves pink!

I started off by creating a pink pearl alcohol ink background then I dug out my stash of ephemera. I have LOTS of ephemera on my desk; they sit in 2 little jars so I can always reach for them. Some fun things I did with a few of the pieces; the heart on the right I stamped a quote from The Greetery, Pretty Postmarks (I also used this on the alcohol background); chunky glitter on the butterfly, on several of the flower pieces, I added Transfer Gel Duo and holographic foil. There is a clear ephemera piece which says 'you are one of a kind' and the circle was stamped with a discontinued Verve Visual stamp set.

Underneath all the ephemera is a heart wreath (also just hanging out on my desk), Neat and Tangled Punchinella die (on sale for $3.50 when I looked this morning - WOW) cut from silver card stock, some torn lace and finally my favorite tag, Memory Box Distressed tag, cut from polka dot vellum. I added some TE Bits and Pieces Full of Heart and black/white yarn finish it off.

Such a fun card to create; throw on everything you can and send them out with love! 💕

Thanks for popping in; hope to see you again soon!

Hugs,

Flowers for You!

Recently, Laurie Willison posted some photos of these mason jars from The Greetery; I have the same set and told her I had not inked it up yet; she told me I needed to get to it. :D So get to it, I did!

I stamped a total of 8 jars, 2 of each color. There 'might' have been a little ink transfer on one, but hey - we're just rolling with it, because if at all possible, we DO NOT start over.

I stamped a bunch of flowers and greenery, hopefully enough for 4 tags and 4 cards. I cut 4 blank mason jars and adhered to the back of the tags sandwiching the flowers/greenery in between. The overall inspiration for the tags came from Dawn McVey. And I took lots of liberties in my colors; I wanted lots of variety and colors!

I tied on the circle tags with some super soft yarn from Hobby Lobby. The circle tags can also include a note on the back. I wish I would have added some flowers to the circle tag like Dawn did; but I thought these were still cute.

TFL; hope you have a great week. Stay safe & healthy!!

Hugs,

Pocket Full of Tags

This month at the Love to Scrap challenge blog, we are playing Shape Shift, hope you join us! I had a friend ask for a variety of things recently, so when I saw Laurie's tag set, I just HAD to CASE it - I love it so much! And I pretty much CASE'd every single piece! :D

We are sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter; please stop by and take a look at all their fabulous creations! They are also offering 3 free digis to the winner, so PLAY ALONG!!

I had recently purchased the Kaisercraft die cut set and loved the colors; and it made creating the tags so quick and easy!

I blended Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Barn door on the front of the card; for the tags I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry; then I covered all that up with the die cuts. LOL!!

I used some older MFT tags that appear to no longer be available, but any tag shapes will work! I left the back side blank so any message can be included.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you can join us at Love to Scrap!

Hugs,

Valentine's Day - 4 months late?

UGH - I found a couple projects I made for Valentine's Day and never posted, so here ya go - we're going back in time to Valentine's Day! :D

I made two identical tags for gifts; using the Roses for You from Simon Says Stamp - one was colored brighter than the other both with Zig Clean Color brushes after white embossing the image. Designer paper (back side) is from Queen and Co.

Softer colors

I splattered on some paint and added a layer of vellum, stamped and embossed the sentiment before adhering the heart of flowers and the designer paper on the back side. Thank you for stopping by; have a great week! Gosh, 4 months later and I still love looking at these. :D

Christmas Tag V

I am back with the final Christmas tag in the group photo I posted HERE.

Each is just a little different!

For all the poinsettia tags, I did some combination of zig clean clear markers, Copics, and oxide inks on watercolor paper before stamping and die cutting the images. The leaves and were stamped on watercolor paper colored with oxide inks. I aded some white translucent paste to this one and a button to the center of the poinsettia. Some jingle bells and ribbon finish it off. Thanks for popping in to see my Christmas tags; these were part of a gift given to a dear, dear friend that I know will use them and just loves handmade things such as this!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!
