Sketch Challenge at Delightful Challenges

Good morning all

We have  a sketch challenge over at Delightful Challenges this week.
Oh I do love sketch challenges it makes life so easy when designing a card.
I chose to use the cute Starry Booboo for this card available here
along with the baby sentiments set available here

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge

Our fab sponsor this week is Scrapyland
Who are offering a fab prize of $20 to spend in store

You obviously can't tell by looking at the picture - but this is a big 8x8 inch card.  Its a while since I made such a big card - sometimes I think you just reach for the 6x6 inch as normal.
But this one had me think outside of the box.
I made it for our team at work all to sign as one of our workmates  had a baby boy last week so its the "office card" and there has to be plenty of space for everyone to sign!

This is what I did....
Image - Starry Booboo from Digital delights
Sentiment - from Baby sentiment set
Coloured with copics  E40,E41,E43, B000,B00,YR20,YR21,YR01,C1
and prismacolor pencils - 70% warm grey for shading
Papers- Liliofthevalley
Ribbon - Carnmeal cottage
Glitter -  diamond stickles  think I'm adicted to this!!
Pearls and baby sticker embellies - from my stash (had those stickers for yeeeears!)
Diecut circles - Spellbinders grand nesties and Spellbinders scalloped edge die

There are some fab interpretations on this sketch over at Delightful challenges this week - take a look- you really should have a go at it - its a great sketch to follow.

Little miss muffet - blue and yellow
Creative moments - shades of blue
Little red wagon - teddies
Pennys paper crafty - anything goes

Are you ready for a romantic moment?!

Good morning all

I'm back today with a new inspiration card for Whimsy stamps.  This one is from the gorgeous Fairy dust images and is called Romantic Moment available here

Isn't it just a gorgeous fairy image - I just loved it the minute I saw it and was dying to colour it up. I was originally going to colour it in pale pastel colours and went looking for papers to do that but when I saw this paper i decided to go with the pale green and red colour scheme and I really like how it turned out.  I went a bit overboard with the stickles - well you can with a fairy - and although the sparkle of the glitter on the wings is reflecting the light so that you cant see the wings too well - they are coloured in a graduated blue, green, pink and lilac design.

This is what I did.....

Cute baby card

Hi Blog friends
Heres my 3 in a row for this week.  I'm so thriled to have been nominated for my very first blog award this week - not once but three times!! Thank you Pat P, Pat K and Nikki for thinking of me - I am honoured to accept the Leibster Award.

The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favourite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note

Here's what to do on receiving your Award
1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3. Copy and paste their blog award on your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Blog award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve recogniti
5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.
Here are the well deserved blogs I have chosen to pass the award to :

I made this card for a friend who just had a baby girl, it was lovely to  make a little girl card for a change, everyone has had boys for ages now so a lovely pink little baby is a real joy to do!  I got my copics out to do most of the colouring on this one - I so like the tone of the paler pinks and lemons in promarkers but I stuck to my tried and tested copics for the skin tones (E11, E00,E000,E0000,R30)   I used my new memory box swirl die for the first time on this card - I think I'm in love - its absolutely gorgeous - so delicate - think you might be seeing a bit more of this!  I followed the sketch from this weeks lillis little fairies challenge for this card,  I was happy with it on the whole but not sure if the design is a bit "top heavy" but I didn't want to add anthing else to the bottom as I think there's enough going on!

Hi there

Another card with lots of love today.  My daughter asked me to make an engagement card for her friends and it gave me the chance to use one of my new LOTV stamps that I just got this week, they have lots of lovely spring stamps on sale at the moment so I stocked up!

I coloured with copics and prismacolour pencils and added the lovely K and Co papers for lots of lovely spring colours.  The card is a cordinations and has a lovely texture and sheen.  I cut the die cuts with spellbinders dies and the butterflies are a Matha Stewart punch,- one of my favourites that I use often, the label is a sizzix .  The flowers, ribbon and pearls are all from my stash
