Good Morning all

How the weeks are flying by - we have suddenly arrived at the first Wednesday in October - how did that happen!

Todays challenge over at Fab'n'Funky is themed

No Patterned papers

I have to admit that I don't find these kind of challenges easy!  I don't have a lot of embossing folders and I don't really like plain.  I'm on a bit of a Christmas thing at the minute (aren't we all when we panic and count the weeks to Christmas - then panic again!) and I have got a few Christmas embossing folders so decided that would work best for me.

our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy I used a digi from their winter collection called Molly Winter 2  I used my favourite blue and white colour combo - I just love this combination for Christmas cards

Hope it is a good one for all of you.

I used my very very favourite Lili of the Valley stamp - I think I must have used this stamp more than any other one that I own - lots of Christmas cards have been made with this little lady

I have to confess that I always colour her the same way - red coat and a goldy vintagey colour skirt and  blonde hair, but I use different papers and embellies every time - each ones an exclusive lol!  I might have to ring the changes a bit - that gives me a good excuse to use her all over again this year - maybe I can feel some pale blues coming on.....

This is what I did....

New beginnings and New Management at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Good Morning Blog Friends

Today I have some exciting news!
I have taken over the management of Fab'n'Funky Challenges from the lovely Lou!
Lou decided that she can no longer commit to the time it takes to run the blog and to stand down.
Rather than see this Fabulous challenge blog close (as so many seem to be lately)
I agreed to take over from Lou.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting to grips with what goes on behind the scenes of running a blog like Fab'n'Funky Challenges.  I have to say "all hail" to all you lovely ladies (and men!) who do all the organising and running of all our challenge blogs - and to Lou for keeping ours going for so long - so successfully, it definitely doesn't happen by itself.
I think many of us don't appreciate just how much work goes into these things - just for fun.

Sooo - on to this week, I'm really chasing my tail trying to get all my DT cards done before I go on me hollies on Saturday - can't wait - though isn't it typical that just as I'm going away we get good weather - I feel cheated that I'll miss the good weather at home - maybe I shouldn't go lol.

With all of  this going on over these last couple of weeks I haven't had much visiting time to all your blogs - sometimes it comes down to a choice make a card or blogging doesn't it
and well, we all have to work hard at our cards in this game!!!!

The challenge this week over at Fab'n' Funky Challenges is very appropriately

New beginnings

We want there to be something new about your card, it could be a new baby -any occasion that falls into new beginning or you could have used something new on your card or to make your card.  to qualify for the prize you have to tell us what the "new" is on your card

We have a fabulous new sponsor
who are offering a great prize of $10 to spend in store

So here is my "new beginnings" card

I love this little girl! - I was lucky enough to win some Digis from Di's shop a few weeks ago and this is one of the ones I chose-  being used today for the first time.  Sorry - I'm back on the easel thing - I find myself looking at challenges now and thinking - can I make an easel card for that lol.

A little distressing

Good morning blog friends

Don't worry I'm not here to tell you a sad story to get distressed over - but we do need some distressing over at Creative Craft Challenges this week!!

We have the wonderful Lili of the Valley sponsoring this weeks challenge
and so we want to see your projects on the theme

Distressing

I had such problems making this card, had chosen the card paper and ribbon - even coloured the image but I just couldn't put it together for the life of me - and it certainly didn't start life as an easel card!
I messed on with it all day on and off - took the dog out for a walk, did some work, came back to it and eventually stuck it together and photographed it - but it still didn't look right -when I looked at it I had forgotten to do the shading with my prismas to give it a more distressed/vintage look, by then I was blending the black prisma pencils onto the mostly finished card - I'm amazed that it didn't end up in the bin!! As if that wasn't bad enough when I came to try to photograph it the second time I ended up chasing it round the garden!!  I like to take my photos outside if I can - but didn't think it was quite as windy as it was....

So these terrible photos were taken in my conservatory and I
couldn't do any better so gave up and this is the best I got!

I decided to pick out the green, pink, blue and peach in the papers - more colours than I would normally use together and carried it through with the embellies so this card is not really me at all - I'm usually a two or three colour girl at the most.  The only thing i can say is it does actually work and looks better in real life than in these photos!!

This is what I did.....

Image - Lili of the Valley - Party girl
Coloured with copics and prismaclour pencils
Papers - First edition - spring feast
Sentiment Lili of the valley
Ribbon - Sam Pooles creative studios
Butterfly punches  Martha Stewart and papermania
Roses - dienamics dies with a pink dew drop inside
Green pearls - kaisercraft
Distress ink - Tim Holtz - tea die
Die cut circles - spellbinders
Die cut flower border and corner (used as leafy sprig) - Memory box

Challenges I am entering with this card

Crafty cardmakers - birthday with balloons
Ooh la la creations - ribbon or twine
Love to create challenge- Bingo - Ribbon /punches/flowers
Lilis little fairies - use your favourite craft tool (Grand Calibre die cutting machine)
Delightful challenges - Distressing
Willow Sketchie challenge  -handmade flowers

Well that about the end of my distressing tale!

See you all tomorrow

Hugs Judith xx

Its Summer sunshine at MAWTT - who am I kidding!!!

Good morning blog friends

Its Thursday yet again - and time for another new challenge at Moving Along with the Times.  This week our lovely Claire is hosting and has chosen the theme summer sunshine.  I presume this is wishful thinking from Claire cos we sure ain't got any!! .... but I'm pretty sure that if enough people join in with the challenge we could have some by the end of the week at MAWTT at least!!

I found this challenge a bit challenging!  Couldn't come up with a DT card at all - then I saw this digi on another blog and it was love at first sight!  It is from stamping dragon designs  and called beach scene.

the inside

I have never coloured such a big scene before and I quite enjoyed the challenge but when I finished felt as if something was missing probly because it has no central figure so decided to add some glitter for a bit of extra focus and I was even pleased with that too! There's very little to this card really but it reminds me of holidays and sunshine so that can't be a bad thing.

What I did....

Image - Beach scene from stamping dragon designs
coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - Sun Kiss from Prima
Sentiment -cut with cricut expression
Foam sunshine and palm trees - American crafts
Glitter - selection of Martha Stewart colours

Sentiment inside - Anna Griffin

The crazy challenge - Summer/beach
Made Especially for you - inspirational colours (yellow/blue/green/brown)

Thats all from me today

Lace and Pearls over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Morning all

I haven't been around much these last few days - been really busy trying to catch up with things  (the story of my life!!)but should be able to do some visiting over the next few days.

Today is challenge day at Fab'n'Funky challenges and the new challenge is being sponsored by

Our theme for the week chosen by the lovely Pat is

Lace and pearls

Here is my DT card, which I made using one of the lovely images from The Digi Doodle Shop Called Daisy Girl, isn't she just so sweet!

Two other views of the card

As you can see I'm still on my easel card "thing" - each time I see an image my mind says - that would make a nice easel card - don't know if I've got a bit of an easel problem and has it got bad enough that I need help lol....

I've stood the easel right back so you can see the sentiment but really it  looks better when it stands in front of the sentiment on the lace - oh that lace it gave me such problems this week - made my DT card and completely forgot the lace part of the challenge so this is the second, and completely different card I made - note to self - read the challenge when making a  DT card!!

Anyway enough of the chat

Die cut shapes and frames - Spellbinders labels ten

On all fours at Fab'n'Funky Challenges - with clever rabbits!

Good Morning blog friends

I've had to be very strict with myself this morning!  I knew I had  a post to do today because its another challenge day at Fab'n'Funky Challenges but I'm back to work tomorrow and if I didn't get the ironing caught up I wouldn't be able to get out of the door!!  So I've spent the morning doing catch up on ironing and all sorts of jobs and  I've now let myself log in - believe me it hasn't been easy, think I might need some help with this blogging addiction of mine lol.

This week at Fab'n'Funky the theme is

"on all fours"

......ooh er what does that mean you may ask!  Well, its easy really - use an animal on your project -preferably a four legged one.  I've used a cute Lili of the Valley stamp for mine that my daughter bought me for my birthday and its brand new out of the packet - now these rabbits on here are particularly clever! - normally they stand on all fours - but just to pose for this picture they stood on two!!

A very pink fairy!

Hi there blog friends

Hope you've all recovered from your Easter weekend. Holiday weekends always leave me totally confused and at the end of it all I haven't got a clue what day it is.  This one seems to have been worse than most and I've definitely lost a day (or two!) along the way.

I've spent around 20 hours with my youngest son scribing for him for his popular culture essay on Christmas (his disability means he can't write or produce huge amounts of text typing so that's my job!)  I've never had quite so much Christmas at Easter before - but I've been well educated along the way.  The good thing is its all done and he's away off to Uni this morning to hand in his books at the library - and get out the next lot - any one for a 10,000 word dissertation on Convergence Theory!!

Enough of Easter (and Christmas!) - I was caught totally on the hop for my DT card for the My Time to Craft Challenge - didn't realise it was Tuesday already and on top of that couldn't see how a whole two weeks had passed since the last challenge!     None the less it IS Tuesday today and time for another challenge at My Time to Craft.  Our new challenge for this fortnight is

Fairy Nice

So dust off those fairies - yes all those as yet un-inked and hidden away in your stash - and lets see all your pretty -  or even dark and wicked - fairies this next two weeks.  The DT girls have made some wonderful cards  for your inspiration  so get over to the challenge blog to see what we've all done - and show us your Magical cards

I've made the pinkest card ever! - with lots of glitter - I'm sure some little girl out there will love this - who doesn't love a fairy!

This is what I did.....

I wanted to keep it fairly simple, its not exactly a CAS card but its not too busy -I managed to hold back on the flowers this time

Stamp - Lili of the Valley Pom Pom
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Papers - Forever Friends  New Arrival
Distressed with - Tim Holtz Tattered Rose distress ink
Butterflies - Martha Stewart punch
Glitter - Martha Stewart silver glitter glue
Die cut shapes for mounting - Spellbinders
Seam binding ribbon and clear gems from my stash
Sentiment  - Whiff of Joy Magical Wishes text set

I'm entering this card for the following challenges

ABC challenge - M is for Magical
Sweet Stampin challenge -Dies and Doodles
Flutterby Wednesdays - Butterfly, Fairy or Angel on your project
Allsorts Challenge - Bingo - Pink/ribbon/green (grass!)
Crafty Sentiments designs - Spring - pastel colours

That's all from me for today - hopefully I'll get caught up with my bloging and visiting over the next couple of days -See you tomorrow

Its challenge day over at Moving Along With the Times challenge blog

Morning blog friends

Well Its Thursday again so that means a new challenge over at the MAWTT blog

This week Lisa Jane   is hosting the
and we would love to see your Easter creations
So hop over and take a peek at the Fab DT cards  on the blog.

Our Creations this week are using  really cute images from Digi My World
Who are offering this weeks winner a fab $10 voucher to spend in store :)
I used the cute Cindy Ears for my DT card

a close up of the details

I've had a weird and wonderful week this week (so whats new!!), on Tuesday Morning I found out i had won Lisa Janes blog candy draw - yes our Lisa Jane who is the MAWTT host this week (see above), thanks so much sweetie and I have to tell you my postman is going to start getting worried cos theres some serious stalking about to start!!  Yesterday I got a top 3 in the inky impressions challenge.  But Tuesday night was my absolute corker....

Have you ever gone out in the wrong car!  I'm sure you must be wondering what on earth I'm talking about - surely all cars are the same at the end of the day? Well the answer is definately no.  I had taken my son Tom to sea scouts on Tuesday night - about 20 minutes away from home.  Rushed back to get some cards finished off and then went back to collect him for 9:30, that was when the fun began.  Tom who is 19 is a power wheelchair user because he has severe physical disabilities as he has cerebral palsy - not that much stops him - he's doing a degree at university , his duke of edinburgh award, sea scouts all sorts, anyway back to Tuesday.  Got back down to the sailing club to pick him up and got out of the car to discover I had just driven there in my Ford Fiesta - anyone ever tried to get a HUGE power wheelchair in the back of a ford fiesta!!  Tom and all at sea scouts thought it was hilarious, but I had to drive back home, change to Toms adapted car with the drive in ramp and drive back to get him.  By the time we got home and sorted it was after 11 and I'd had enough - just went to bed .  As typical of when these things happen my hubby was working away that night so had to rush around and do everything myself and to be honest I haven't caught up with the things (crafty things of course) that I wanted to do.  I could say I won't do that again but as my husband said - its typical me - my heads always full of something else!!  Anyway back to work today so still no crafting:(

Anyway back to the card
This is what I did......

Image - Digi My World  Cindy Ears

Fab'n'Funky Challenges new challenge today

Hi blog friends

Its Wednesday so that means a new challenge at Fab'n'Funky challenges.  This week the theme is

In Honour of Mum
We are lucky enough to be sponsored by the fabulous Doodle Pantry  this week

The DT girls were given some gorgeous digis to play with.  I chose  these cute little birds  and a sentiment to use on my card and this was my Mums mothers day card - which she loved.  I also made her a small scrapbook of some of our old black and white family photos.  She had given them all to me when she moved to a smaller bungalow a few years ago, but we had them out a few weeks ago (trying to decide who our new baby grandson looked like - like you do!) and she seemed to really enjoy them so that's when I decided to make the scrapbook as a mothers day gift.   It took me days of scanning and resizing them to get them all ready to go into the scrapbook.  It was lovely when it was finished and she really liked having her old photos newly printed and all in one place and looking a good deal better than the originals did! - these photo programs are so clever, it even made me look clever as well ha ha.

This is what I did....

Stamp - everyday birdies from Doodle Pantry
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Papers - from my stash (could be from Kanban I think)
Button punch - Martha Stewart
Daffodils - Wild orchid crafts
craft card basket distressed with Tim Holtz tea die distress ink

Well Thats all from me for now - going to try to get what should have been my last nights post done later today - had a bit of a dizzy blonde moment last night (I have a few of these but this one was pretty good!)  I'll update you later if I get through today in one piece - off birthday shopping with my daughter at Gateshead Metro Centre now - this its going to be expensive I can tell, as well as her birthday its her husbands birthday and wedding anniversary all on the same day!

challenges I'm entering

Little fairy girl

Hi there blog friends
Hope you all had a great weekend, I don't know where weekends go, I don't often have much crafty time at weekends unless its a rainy Saturday afternoon or something like that, we always are out and about and Sunday is always a family day.

The weather was beautiful here on Saturday and we took the dog on a long walk over the fields up to the next village along the coast and sat and had coffee and cakes outside at a litle cafe we often go to.  On Sunday we had a tea party for the grannies (as our mothers are known!) for mothers day and I baked cakes and pies and made little posh sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed it, my daughter entertained the grannies and the men sat in the conservatory and listened to the football  It makes me sound like a real domestic goddess  - I wish!!  - can't even remember the last time I made a corned beef and potato pie before that, but even if I say so myself it was delish and the cakes were disapearing before
they got to the tea table - sounds like little house on the prarie doesn't it but sometimes its just so nice to slow down and do ordinary things at home and not have to rush around.

I started to do some colouring last night withmy new copic colours - lovely! - had a couple of DT cards to do and particularly wanted to enter the LOTV challenge this week because I'd got 6 new stamps from the new release  as part of my birthday pressie from my daughter. couldn't believe when I saw the new challenge was fairies and butterflies because  there are no fairies in the new release just one little girl  who looks like she might be dressed as a fairy so I used her and made some butterfly embellies to fit with the buttefly part of the challenge

 - don't think thats very good planning Lillis little fairies  - releasing new stamps then  having a challenge that you can't use them in!!
