I've been away on holiday for over 3 weeks and forgot to photograph the cards I'd made to blog while I ws away - so I decided gave myself the month off lol.... since I got home I've had a busy time preparing for my grand daughter's christening (I'll share some of my makes when I get myself organised - I love baby crafting) - its taken me until now to catch up with myself!!

But I'm here today because its challenge day at

I used the lovely Rowena for this card
a steam punk inspired creation with a floral twist!

Happy New Year - and something else New!

Happy New Year everyone

Well I finally kicked myself into gear and here's my first post of the year

I'm setting myself off on a new blogging start for the year
-after a pretty disastrous end of last year
the only thing I can say is I had a great holiday in November
and Christmas and New Year were pretty good too

So - line drawn under 2015
and a happy 2016 is here!!

We have a "New" challenge at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

the theme is

Something New
(new house, new baby, using new stash etc)

My card is a wedding card that my daughter asked me to make for a friend last summer
the theme of the wedding was sunflowers

I think you could even say a wedding fits the new theme - it is after all a start of a new life together
but as well as that I used some new dies

Absolutely brand new are the Dies from Sue Wilson
They're the ornate pierced rectangles from the Noble Collection
I just love this collection

I also decorated the inside to match

I don't know if these photographs do this card justice, it was quite a large card and the layering looked really effective with the black and yellow and it was also  really quite easy to make -

Our fabulous sponsor this week is

Live and Love Crafts

who are providing a £10 voucher for our prize winner

Live & Love Craft

What I did...
The whole list of items used

Do you need image therapy?! if so pop over to MAWTT this week

Good morning all

We have a new challenge today for you over at

Our lovely Carole is our hostess this week

and has chosen the theme

No image
(so you see - no image therapy required ha ha)

I've been struggling for time these last couple of weeks so decided to make an easy peasy card with some papers and stickers I bought last year - exactly for the purpose of quick Christmas Cards
.... except I didn't use them - now I'm sure none of you ever buy things that don't get used lol.

I've got a whole set of these toppers with Christmas words and they do make really quick cards -well it would have been quick except it took me half an hour to choose which papers to use, I have to admit that for me there's no such thing as a quick card - you have no idea how much I faf about (technical term!)
I'll have to get that Christmas card counter updated too -I think I'm into double figures now - that's an achievement in itself

Here's what I did...

Papers - Yuletide Greetings by Anna Griffin
Topper - from the Christmas Garland Embellishment set by Anna Griffin
Ribbon - Gold satin from carnmeal cottage
Card - Bazzill Basics

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Party time Tuesday - Anything Goes
The Cheerful stamp pad - use a sentiment
Crafting from the Heart - Anything goes
Completely Christmas - Anything Goes
Simon says - Anything Goes

Seeing Red at MAWTT!

Good morning campers!

Hope it is a good one for all of you.

There's another new challenge at MAWTT set by this week hostess

the lovely Laurie

The theme is

Seeing Red

I'm sure you get the message - very simply we want to see Red - and lots of it

Our sponsors this week are the fabulous Crafty Pad

Now to me this challenge just shouted "Christmas" so that's what I did

I used my very very favourite Lili of the Valley stamp - I think I must have used this stamp more than any other one that I own - lots of Christmas cards have been made with this little lady

I have to confess that I always colour her the same way - red coat and a goldy vintagey colour skirt and  blonde hair, but I use different papers and embellies every time - each ones an exclusive lol!  I might have to ring the changes a bit - that gives me a good excuse to use her all over again this year - maybe I can feel some pale blues coming on.....

This is what I did....

Image - lili of the valley - Christmas dance
Coloured with - copics and prismacolor pencils
Red card - Kanban
Kraft card - QVC
Stripe paper - my minds eye - merry

Gems and sentiment from my stash

Its Summer sunshine at MAWTT - who am I kidding!!!

Good morning blog friends

Its Thursday yet again - and time for another new challenge at Moving Along with the Times.  This week our lovely Claire is hosting and has chosen the theme summer sunshine.  I presume this is wishful thinking from Claire cos we sure ain't got any!! .... but I'm pretty sure that if enough people join in with the challenge we could have some by the end of the week at MAWTT at least!!

I found this challenge a bit challenging!  Couldn't come up with a DT card at all - then I saw this digi on another blog and it was love at first sight!  It is from stamping dragon designs  and called beach scene.

the inside

I have never coloured such a big scene before and I quite enjoyed the challenge but when I finished felt as if something was missing probly because it has no central figure so decided to add some glitter for a bit of extra focus and I was even pleased with that too! There's very little to this card really but it reminds me of holidays and sunshine so that can't be a bad thing.

What I did....

Image - Beach scene from stamping dragon designs
coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - Sun Kiss from Prima
Sentiment -cut with cricut expression
Foam sunshine and palm trees - American crafts
Glitter - selection of Martha Stewart colours
Ribbons - Carnmeal cottage
Gems - from my stash
Sentiment inside - Anna Griffin

Challenges I am entering with this card

canyoudigiit - sunrise and sunset
[pin]spirational challenges - picture inspiration
crafty boots challenges - yellow
The crazy challenge - Summer/beach
Made Especially for you - inspirational colours (yellow/blue/green/brown)
One stitch at a time -Here comes summer

Thats all from me today

Its another challenge day at Fab'n'Funky challenges - today we are celebrating maleness

Hi blog friends

Another week has gone by and here it is Wednesday - where did that week go!

Thank you to everyone who sent their hugs and kind comments yesterday after my sad post about Tilly yesterday - its nice to know that you've given me a little thought in your busy day.

Today's challenge at Fab'n'Funky challenges is celebrating maleness and we are being sponsored by the fab Crimson cloud

I had such problems with this card!  Not the actual card but deciding what to do.  My Mother in law asked me to make a card for her neighbour - who is 90 at the week end so decided to combine this with the challenge.  But what do you make for a 90year old man that you don't know!!  I made some enquiries and found out he likes gardening, going to church, bring and buy sales and is teetotal!  To me that's more challenge than any you're likely to find in blogland!!  So out of that I went with the gardening.

I had to go looking for a digi stamp for this and found this lovely little set at digi boutique.  I bought this one and a female garden version for only £1 each - they're on offer at the mo.  Considering I had no clue as to what this card would be when I started I was pleased at how it turned out - I think my 90 year old gardening, church going, bring and buy teetotal man will like it.  As for the celebrating maleness challenge well I think I win!! -My man being celebrated is 90 years old so has been male for longer than most - that's something to celebrate all right ha ha.

This is what I did ...

Digi stamp - digi boutique - male garden
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - K and co - I think- (had them so long I'm not sure)
Little pot of flowers and trowel are K and co stickers
Card candy - craftwork cards
Twine - from my garden shed!
Sentiment - is a new Anna Griffin one that I just got in a set from QVC - lovely bunting and greetings stamps - just love them
Card - Bazzill
90 - cut on cricut expression - cindy loo cartridge

See you later with my first Inky Impressions challenge card - yes I know I said that yesterday too - but I never know what day of the week is which for which challenge  - if you know what I mean - I'm amazed I get here at all sometimes!!

I'm entering this card for the following challenges

Fresh brewed - tic tac toe -die cuts twine flowers
Pennys paper-crafty challenges - happy birthday
Celebrate the Occasion - Male birthday - must use circle
Digital Tuesday challenge - Bugs and Blooms
Tuesday throwdown -In the Garden
Here Come the boys - Hobbies
