Love month!

What we have been up to lately, baking, and some valentine's. I love decorating the kids' rooms while they are sleeping. I had a bunch of foam hearts that I wrote little love notes on for Haylee and Hunter. I hung them all over their rooms. Then I laid little hearts all over their floors. I bought some flowers for Haylee that I had on her dresser. They were more than excited when they woke up!! I love making books for my family. We have a cousin book, birthday books, Halloween costume book, and a christmas jammie book. When I was engaged to Weston on Valentine's day I made a him a book, 82 reasons why I want to marry you in 82 days. He loved it!!!! And I loved making it. Our first valentine's day I made him a book of our first year together. This year I wanted to make him a book of all our pictures together. Surprisingly over 7 years we didn't have that many pictures together. 42 to be exact, well 42 good ones. So I put them to good use and put together a book for him. I had so much fun going through all of our pictures and looking back at memories! I would say we have had a pretty great life together. Back to our V-day morning. The kids came down to find themselves some new shoes! And then pink milk for breakfast. Pink heart pancakes were on the menu but I wimped out and cold cereal it was!!

We found a new favorite craft. I did have to sacrifice my last two oranges but it was worth it for a fun morning! I kind of eat oranges like crazy in the winter. Painting and stamping fruit!!

Our dinner table!

This is what my table looks like 98% of the time when we are ready to sit down and eat dinner. At least it's way more fun that homework sprawled all across it, but still........it's a mess. I'll tell Haylee to pick it up. 5 mins later she is no where to be found. I yell upstairs, "Haylee come clean off the table." "I already did." She says "What did you clean up? It's still a mess!" "I put away the scissors." Says Haylee. Awesome, I'm left to clean this up most nights. I even have a craft room upstairs where I purposely keep all the craft stuff. I used to have a big table up there where they could work. There was never ever one thing on that table. Not even a scrap. Soon it just started collecting shirts I needed to iron for Weston. So life goes on with a kitchen table that needs to be cleaned. At least it produces fun holiday decor around my house!!
I wouldn't trade my messy kitchen table with the giggles, laughs and happiness that comes from crafting around my table for anything!!

A is for apple

I have been trying to teach Hunter the abc's since he was one. Of course there are hundreds of fun ideas to teach letters on pinterest. We have tried them. Every time I sing the song I get to about c or d and he tells me to stop or he just puts his hand over my mouth. He is just not interested! And that's fine. Since Haylee has been in school we have had so much fun eating lunch together. We talk, and laugh, play games. I decided to try throwing some abc's in there. Just these last few weeks he has been so into learning them. He wants to do "homework" all the time. So we've had fun playing with letters during lunch time. I've managed to sneak a few other tricks in there too. Like making letter's with sticks. He loves that! And he is so proud of himself knowing his letters now.

And then he throws himself on the floor and I know he is done learning his abc's for the day!
