ISSC42 and IB50

DSCF0978-002

Wow, two posts in one day! Can you believe it?  I had a wee bit of extra stamping time, so I combined a couple challenges for this fun winter card…it could be a Christmas card or a birthday card!  First, here are the challenges:

the iSpy sketch for this week as well as the Inspired By challenge photo:

Cute, huh?  So here we go:

DSCF0977

I went more with the colors than the theme (well, a little of the theme)  of the inspiration montage, which I love, BTW, but I guess the little gingerbread man could definitely fit in with the baking theme!  I pulled out a couple older sets that hadn’t gotten inky for a while, along with Scentsational Seasons, and whipped up this quick card.  I don’t know if you can see the subtly-stamped snowflakes against the text background, but they’re there, stamped in Pool Party, which is also the background DP as well!  Some linen thread and a well-placed heart, and my happy little gingerbread card is complete!

Paper Players 120

DSCF0571

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I hope you are having a blessed day!  Today, Ann has a wonderful theme challenge for us at the Paper Players:

I went waaaaay back into the archives to pull out a couple of retired SU stamps for my card today:

PP120

I stamped my basket of apples on watercolor paper and colored them with ink and an aquapainter.  Originally I had planned to use the flip side of this red Orchard Harvest DP, hence the three different-colored apples.  But when I laid it out, it was a bit too busy, so I flipped it for the less busy apple print!

And here is the inside of my card, using another oldie but goodie, paired with Perfectly Preserved!

DSCF0573

I also used the sketch from iSpy this week for my card:

And finally, I found a new blog, Stamp N Piece, and Rhonda has a Thankful Thursday challenge, so this will fit her challenge as well!  Thanks for stopping by….we at the Paper Players would be very thankful if you came along to play with us as well.  Please share your creation at the Paper Players blog and check out what the other designers have created as well!  And remember, if you have any questions about anything on my card, send me an email!

I gave Cassidy part of a pretzel the other day and she told me it was a turtle!!  When I looked at it, it WAS shaped like a turtle!  Imaginative kid!

Two Sweet Cards

DSCF0484

Two cards today, both featuring something sweet!  The first one is for CASology 17, and the cue card is “sugar”:

I made another card first, but it wasn’t CAS enough, so I made this one using the Scentsational Seasons candy cane, stamped in Cherry Cobbler , with some snowflake embossing, a little scalloped square of Gumball Green and some Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine:
DSCF0482

The “sweet” is from Teeny Tiny Wishes…there is a sentiment “sweet treats” and I just markered the “sweet” and punched it out with the jewelry tag punch!  It very loosely uses the Fall To Layout #214 from Clean and Simple:

My next sweet card is for the Paper Smooches challenge this week, which is to make a gift card or money holder.  I used a free digital image, colored with Copics, and the iSpy sketch #39 for my card:

A little sparkle on the candy canes:

And on the inside, an envelope diecut with the SU Scallop Envelope die, in which to tuck a gift card or some moolah!!!

Easy peasy!  Oh, and here’s the sketch, almost forgot:

If you have any questions, please be sure to shoot me an email!

Halloween was postponed until Friday in our neck of the woods, so I don’t have any pictures of Cassidy in her costume….that is, if she even allows her mommy to dress her in it!  I do have a couple of her “rearranging” my fall decorations on my porch.  She seems to be doing a lot of this lately!

It’s still a bit windy here today, so we are a bit disheveled!!!  But thanks for visiting!

iSpy35 Little Shoes

DSCF8616

Well, between battling stink bugs and getting ready for a church yard sale yesterday , I did squeeze in some time to make a baby card for our youth pastor and his wife!  This is a very loose interpretation of the iSpy sketch from this week:

and I wanted to use the “shoe" inspiration from the cue card at CAS-ology, but this really isn’t that CAS.  Here we go:

DSCF8617

Some cute MME papers, a (sadly) retired Cornish Heritage Farms image and a little paper button wraps it up.  I popped up the shoes and gave them a little pink hue:

Sweet as can be!  Now, for a few more swaps from last week’s meeting:

iSpy Sketch 31 & RCC69

DSCF8021

Happy Wednesday!  I am ready for some sunshine---PA is in the midst of a rainy, gray bunch of days and I need to see some BLUE sky!!!  My heart and prayers go out to those affected by Isaac…..we are only getting a little influence of him and I know there are others who have lost it all.  Having served in Louisiana after Katrina, I have seen that destruction firsthand.  So no more complaining from me!

I made a real simple card for the iSpy sketch today.  Here’s the sketch, from my sweet friend Karen Dunbrook, who ALWAYS lets me know when one of my cards was favorited over on SCS!  She is amazing!!!

And here’s my funky Halloween card, using Papaya Collage:

DSCF8022

I have been wanting to put that little hat on that bird for a long time!  He’s mounted on an embellishment from the same set, overstamped with the French words from French Foliage and snazzed up with a glimmer brad:

DSCF8024

A shabby bow with a little tag finishes it off!

DSCF8023

Got questions?  I am only an email away!  This qualifies it for challenge 69 at the Ribbon Carousel as well, which is to use a bow!

Learning letters on the “Funny Bear” statue in my neighbor’s driveway!

iSpy 28 and Make it Monday

DSCF5984

Played with a couple of challenges today:  the iSpy Sketches sketch #28 from Mary Brown:

and the Make It Monday from The Kraft Journal, which is “Needle & Thread”.  I pulled out some vintage MME papers, buttons, my sewing machine, needle and thread, lace, and some shabby seam binding to create my card:

DSCF5983

A few snippets of this and that, and I was done!  I used a variety of sentiments and stamps from PTI as well as a couple dies; here’s the inside:

and a closeup:

I just love that background paper…..it’s so homey!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for my Paper Players creation!!  Have a great day!  Any questions, shoot me an email!

Summer Starfish

DSCF5054

I was able to squeak in some stamping time yesterday, in between cleaning and working, and I made a card for three challenges:  Our Creative Corner’s Buttons ‘n Burlap or Bows; The Kraft Journal’s Good Ole Summertime Make It Monday Challenge; and the iSpy Sketches sketch #20.  Here’s the iSpy sketch:

and here’s my “good ole’ summertime” card:

DSCF5052

I used a Crumb Cake base; some papers from Pink Paislee’s Indigo Bleu line; stamps are retired SU Beautiful Beach and Lizzie Anne’s Shore Thoughts.  I added a burlap panel and some buttons; the starfish is sparkly, but you can’t see it from here!  If you have any questions, please shoot me an email!  Have a great day—stay cool!  It’s HOT here today!
