Winter Schminter

Happy Tuesday, all! I have an uber-quick card for you today; it's for two challenges!  The Addicted to CAS challenge wants to see a sweater, and the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is a sketch:

I have a fun little sweater die that I pulled out, along with some scraps of paper from my stash; here we go:

I actually cut two sweaters from some retired Soft Sky cardstock and "stretched" it to make it fit under the sentiment banner a wee bit!  A little faceted embellishment tied to the colors of the plaid strip.  The strips were diecut with the Taylored Expressions Easy Strips Stitched dies; they make for a nicely-finished edge, I think! The sentiment is from Whippersnapper; it's an oldie from 2008!

The top inside sentiment is from the same Whippersnapper set; the birthday one is from Paper Pumpkin:

A fun wintry birthday card for my stash!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Bundle Up

Happy Friday, everyone! I have a busy weekend ahead...church decorating, shopping, Advent covered dish and hymn sing....phew!  But fun stuff! I had time to play yesterday between cookie-baking to make a fun little card with a set I don't think I've used but maybe one time.  When I had my W+9 candle set out, I noticed I had this little W+9 set in my box as well:

I used the color theme from Inspired By as well as the sketch from Global Design Project:

Each of my little warm elements were stamped and diecut, then mounted on some woodgrain paper, and mounted on a 4 1/4" square card of Tranquil Tide that was stamped with the retired Knit Together stamp:

A really "vintage" Whippersnapper set provided the sentiment and I used some sentiment from a past Close to My Heart set for the inside:

Another for the stash!  How is your card-making progressing? I think I'd better sit down and count how many I have...I may need to gear up, LOL!

Over the summer, Cassidy was a junior counselor at a local Christian retreat called Black Rock.  Dana was looking up information to sign her up again, and here's what came up on the retreat's website:

Looks like she was having fun!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP569 Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, with the amazing Anne Marie bringing us a marvelous sketch today!  Check it out:

I LOVE this sketch....I can't wait to make a few more cards using it!  What a great way to use up some odds and ends of DSP, right?  I just got a cute new Close to My Heart stamp set, so I paired it up with some My Mind's Eye Winterberry papers and here's what I came up with:

I stamped my little snowman scene in Cherry Cobbler ink and diecut it out, then mounted it on another circle on which I had stamped some really teeny tiny snowflakes!  The embossing panel from the Stitched Snowflakes dies has some teeny tiny embossed snowflakes as well, so I punched them out with a 1/4" circle punch and sprinkled them around!  After adding some snowy glitter, I mounted it on a scallop of Evening Evergreen and mounted it on my card:

I had planned to put this little banner on the front but couldn't quite make it work, so I added it to the inside; the sentiment is from an old Whippersnapper set called Winter Schminter!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week!  I'm willing to bet you'll love it as much as we do!  Check out what the other designers created while you're sharing yours over at the Paper Players!  Thanks for popping in today!

IB156 Beary Warm Wishes

Happy Thursday, everyone!  We're back at Inspired By with this uber-sweet little bear...doesn't he look stylish?

I began by pulling out an old SU set called Thankful Forest Friends and stamping the little bear in Smoky Slate ink; here's how he ended up:

I added some little "fur" lines with a marker and fussy-cut him out. The background is some retired DSP on which I stamped a sprinkling of little Smoky Slate and Memento Black winter hats, hand-drawing the ribbing; I even stuck one on top of Mr. Bear's head:

I added an old Whippersnapper sentiment atop a Basic Gray panel that was embossed with a retired Sweater Knit embossing folder:

And added a sentiment from Rustic Retreat on the inside:

I think this is such a sweet, fun inspiration photo, I hope you'll play along!  I have several birthday cards to make, and this one is at the top of my list!  Can't wait to see how you interpret our prompt this week!  Be sure to check out what the other DT members created as well!  Hop on over to the Inspired Blog to see! Thanks for popping in today!

I wanted to share a picture of some cookies my niece Kelly made for Christmas....they were gorgeous and tasted delicious to boot!  Lots of detail and PAINTING with edible paint!! She is the Martha Stewart of the family, hands down!  They definitely contributed to my holiday weight gain, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC92 Glittery Snowman

Hi peeps!  Hope your Thanksgiving is going well!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge with Team X:

I chose the top row across of Stitching, Ombre and Sparkle Glitter, but I also used the middle row down of Tag and Metallic as well!  So here we go:

I've got a lot of sparkle going on here!  I diecut a tag (which is stitched, but it's hard to see) from SU's Rainbow Glimmer paper, then cut a stitched snowman and stitched snowbank with some retired Sparkle Glimmer paper as well.  The tag has some metallic ribbon, and his scarf, nose and eyes are also glimmer paper, and the background paper has metallic accents on all the little designs!

The snowman hugs sentiment is from an old Whippersnapper set, stamped in Tempting Turquoise; the Let it Snow is from SU's Snow Place, stamped in Magenta Madness and cut with a banner die:

Although there are lots of parts to the card, it went together surprisingly quickly and I love the final outcome!  And since there is so much "snow" on here, I am entering it at Shopping Our Stash for their snowy  challenge this week!

I hope you'll play Tic Tac Toe with us and share your creation with us too!  If you have any questions about the "ingredients", let me know!!  Thanks for popping by and have a blessed day!

IB97 Warm Woolen WIshes

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for another Inspired By challenge and with the upcoming COLD weather forecast, I think it's very appropriate! So here we go:

And here's Laurel's prompt....check out those warm blankets!  We're going to need them this weekend!

I know my background is more plaid than striped like the blankets in the picture, but while checking some cards out on other blogs, I came across this card by Heather Telford, and I loved the background so much, I just had to re-create it!  I actually had it lying on my desk, waiting to be embellished, when I saw Laurel's inspiration and I thought it might work!  I also used the Global Design Project's sketch for this week:

So to create the background, I stamped the Buffalo Check stamp in Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate cardstock, then added Cajun Craze stripes with a SU marker.  The bunny from Nature's Beauty was stamped on a stitched panel with Memento ink and colored with Blends, and the little stitched sentiment piece is from an old Whippersnapper set, stamped in Cajun Craze.  The Nature's Beauty set happens to have a little "snow" stamp, so I filled in the background with it, then added some Ice Stampin' Glitter snow:

This pretty little sentiment from Greatest Part of Christmas hostess set was stamped on the inside:

These are unusual colors for a Christmas card, but sometimes it's fun to think outside the box!  I hope you'll play along with us and use the inspiration photo to create something warm and fuzzy!  And check out what the DT created at Inspired By too! Thanks for popping by today!

A little snuggle time:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

200th Merry Monday!

Happy Monday, everyone!  What a special day this is!  The Merry Monday challenge is celebrating its 200th challenge, and the talented Debbie Henderson asked me to help celebrate!  Merry Monday has a special place in my heart, as Lesley asked me to be on the DT at its inception!  Even though I am no longer on the team, I still love to participate as much as possible, building up my stash of Christmas cards throughout the year!  So I encourage you to do that too!

For this special event, there are four challenges in which you can participate....pick one, two, three or all four!  Have fun!  I did choose three:  snowman, sketch and colors!

And here we go:

I used lots of fun polka-dotted papers from various sources in my stash, and the stitched snowman and tree are from W+9, called Stitched Holiday Icons.  Mr Snowman is sitting on some embossed snowy hills (Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders and SU's Perfect Polka Dots EF) and the stitched stars are from Simon Says Stamp's Bundle of Stitched Shapes:

I made a little banner and stamped a sentiment from Anna Wight's Winter Schminter, and added a panel of Pear Pizzazz, embossed with a Tim Holtz EF called Deer Knit set:

It was all mounted on a Cherry Cobbler card.  So much fun to make!  I hope you'll play along with us and share it with us over at the MM blog!  Can't WAIT to see what you create!

SIP21 CAS Christmas

DSCF2669
Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have a quick Christmas card to share today!  This was SO easy….only a wee bit of stamping and die-cutting.  Isn’t this cute?
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Free Snowman Hugs Christmas Anna Wight
The image is from a DCWV Christmas paper stack and I simply cut it out with a Simon Says Stamp stitched border die and mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base.  I used the same set of dies to cut out a little tag and stamped the sentiment from an older Anna Wight Whippersnapper set called Snowman for Peace, then added an SU enamel dot.  The final addition was a Cherry Cobbler stitched heart (same set), and stamped a little “string” from the AW set on which to hang it.  Easy peasy!  So easy, I am entering it in the Stamp, Ink Paper challenge for this week, which is Clean and Simple Christmas!  Thanks for visiting!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge, too!

DSCF2098

Yippee, it’s Wednesday…the week is almost half over!  I am squeaking in a card using the As You See It sketch; I turned it on its side:

After Sunday’s card, I was hankering for some more vintage stuff, and I have TONS of Halloween vintage stamps, so I pulled out this little cat on a broom from Victorian Greetings I got last year and some MME Happy Haunting DSP:

Everything was stamped in Basic Black or Smoky Slate on Naturals White and Cajun Craze, and I also used Gorgeous Grunge and retired Rubbernecker and MFT Halloween sets as well.  There’s a bit of ribbon, twine, sponging and sequins…I loaded it up!
