PP581 Flowers for Ukraine

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, with Jaydee as our hostess!  She has a great theme for us this week:

Stampers all over blogland are creating blue and yellow cards to support Ukraine, so I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring as well!  Here we go:

This Welcoming Window bundle (which is on sale this month!) has such a pretty pitcher of flowers, I couldn't resist using it! Although they're not sunflowers, hopefully they're still acceptable!  The Pacific Point shutters, complete with little Daffodil Delight hearts complemented them perfectly:

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week:

I added a sentiment in Pacific Point, and everything went on a Daffodil Delight card base.  I hope you'll find some spring inspiration this week and play along with us!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at the Paper Players blog and while you're there, check out the other designers' cards!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TMS643 Welcoming Window

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  I had some time yesterday to play with the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch as well as the mood board from Double D Challenges:

I pulled out Welcoming Window and the retired Buffalo Check background stamp and here's what I came up with:

Everything is pretty self-explanatory; I used the Window Flower Box dies, along with a little heart punch, to create my little scene:

I added a sentiment from Special Moments at the top, and the background panel was stamped with the Buffalo Check.  I love the freshness that bright red and white have together!  And since Darlene clued me in to one of their new challenges, Colorful Options, I am entering this there as well!

 Thanks for popping in today!

And here's a shameless plug for Dana's new Poshmark shop!  This is one of her latest creations, and the artwork was done by one of Cassidy's friends!  So much talent!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI261 Welcoming Window

Hi everyone!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's a color one!  This little snippet is just part of the original photo I chose for the colors:

Here's the FULL picture.....don't those blackberries look yummy!?

I had been thinking that I hadn't used Welcoming Window for a long time, so I challenged myself to use it with these colors; here we go:

The pitcher was heat-embossed with silver embossing powder, and placed upon a Crumb Cake window sill.  The shutters are Blackberry Bliss with Brushed Silver hinges, and I placed them on a Basic White and Smoky Slate brick "wall"!

I added a Blackberry Bliss DSP panel, a scalloped Granny Apple Green border, and it all went on an embossed card base.  The sentiment is from Shaded Summer, accented with a wee little piece left over from the scallop!

I know this is an unusual color combination, but I hope you'll give it a shot!  Check out what the other As You See It DT members created with it as well!  Sure glad you popped in today!

I watched Cassidy on Columbus Day and she wanted to do some tie-dying!  A wee bit messy but she had fun!  I'll share photos of the shirts after Dana rinses, washes and dries them!

She's also wearing the apron her mommy made many years ago in 4H!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI557 Thinking of You

Happy Monday, peeps!  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card, and I thought the subtle colors in the Just Add Ink's beautiful inspiration photo would be appropriate:

I was inspired by the window, the mantle and the greenery, so I pulled out Welcoming Window to make this:

I used Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Crumb Cake for the elements of my little scene and it is all adhered to a layer of In Good Taste DSP.  It's not real clear in the photo, but there are little gingham pumpkins on the mantel, so instead of pumpkins, I made a gingham vase!!  I stamped both the greenery and flowers in Soft Succulent ink:

The sentiment is from the Quiet Meadow stamp set, stamped directly on to the DSP.  Thanks for popping in today!

It was a very hot weekend, so we took a little Sunday afternoon trip to the Northeast River in Maryland and watched some boats, and some ducks:

Since John sold his sailboat, he has been missing being on the river, so this was a good way to make him happy!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP544 Signs of Summer

Hi stampers!  It's Sunday and time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Ann is our hostess and here's her theme for us this week:

I was enamored by that cute little watermelon up in the corner, and the In Colors of Positively Pink and Just Jade seemed to fit perfectly!  So here we go with my CAS creation:

I simply cut the "watermelon" slice with dies from the Layering Circles dies, and stamped the "seeds" with the ice cream drip stamp from Sweet Ice Cream!  I layered it on a Basic White panel that I embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy dies.  I added a sentiment from Welcoming Window, then punched out the corners with the Detailed Trio punch and mounted it on a 4 1/4" square card base of Positively Pink:

I used the sketch from Fab Friday as my layout:
There are so many possibilities with Ann's challenge....summer will soon be upon us in the US and I am sure you can find some inspiration for your stamping!  Be sure to check the Paper Players blog to see what the DT created, and share yours with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just two dogs checkin' out the neighborhood!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCC151 Mother's Day

Hi peeps, happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new Card Concept challenge and Julie has a gorgeous one for us today:

Rather than try to duplicate that beautiful vase of flowers, I decided to use the blue and pink hues of the tableware in my clean-and-layered card today:

Pacific Point doesn't quite match the colors in the photo, but it was close enough!  I used a retired SU background stamp called Floral, and matted it with a layer of Magenta Madness.  The sentiment is from Welcoming Window and diecut with a die from Pierced Blooms, which is also the die for the flowers and leaves:

I added a little In Color jewel as a simple embellishment!

What will inspire you from our photo?  Be sure to check out the different "styles" at The Card Concept blog and be sure to tell us what your style is!  Can't wait to see it!

Jameson had his sixth birthday recently, and he kindly shared the privilege of blowing out the candles with his little brother Sawyer:

Some cake, too!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S414 Welcoming Window

The color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches was an interesting one; my first thought was Christmas, but ending going in another direction!  Here's the palette:

And here's my card:

It's all pretty self-explanatory; the elements were stamped and diecut with the Window Flower Box dies and mounted on a Stitched So Sweetly panel, and that's on top of a Mossy Meadow DSP panel:

The inside panel was stamped with the little corner viney stamp...so cute!

I just love playing with this set...these little dies are so fun to work with!  Thanks for popping in today!

Thought I would share some of the lovely Easters cards I received this year!

This is from Mollie:

and Kathy:

and from Karen:

More to come!  Thanks ladies!  And thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP535 Spring Flowers Welcoming Door

Hello everyone!  Happy Easter (again) to you!  Jaydee has our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a lovely one!  Perhaps stamping and coloring flowers might make it feel a bit more spring-like!  So here we go:

I really had so many ideas for this challenge, I struggled a bit!  Finally, I pulled out the retiring Under My Umbrella, because those little Mary Engelbreit-ish flowers have always appealed to me!  I stamped and colored several of them, fussy cut them out and created a wreath for my little "front door":

To create a base for my wreath, I dicut a narrow circle (which you can't see here) and used that so I could adhere my flowers in the correct shape.  I created my door with Pool Party cardstock, embossing the panels with the Pinewood Planks EF, then shading them with Sahara Sand ink:

The "welcome" and the bricks are from the Welcoming Window set, and I added a little silver Brushed Metallic watering can diecut (and a doorknob!):

I am in love with that little watering can, LOL!  And since the Krafty Chicks challenge is "Stamp Act", I am entering it there too! Thanks for popping in today!

I hope you'll find lots of inspiration at the Paper Players this week; check out what the design team on the PP blog and then be sure to share your floral creation with us as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TGIF306 Welcoming Window

Hi peeps!  A quick post today as I have stampers coming to play!  YAY!  The color challenge at TGIF beckoned me to play along, especially since purple and yellow are probably my least utilized colors!

So I struggled through and here's my card:

There are so many fun little pieces in this bundle, I really enjoyed playing with it!  In hindsight, I wish I had assembled this a wee bit differently, but we learn by doing!  I love the texture on the shutters and how pretty the two-step flowers turn out!  I used a piece of True Love DSP on which to stamp my window, and stamped a sentiment from Hot Dog to attach at the bottom.  It's hard to see, but the Whisper White panel is embossed with the Subtle EF too!

To make another sample for my stamp club girls, I did this one as well, using Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight and Gray Granite as my colors:

I used a piece of Butterfly Bijou as a background for my window; but then I thought, well, if this is a scene of an outside wall looking in, I probably shouldn't have something that looks like a sky, right?  Oh well!  Another lesson learned!  We should have a curtain stamp, right?  I LOVE this color combination for the florals too!

And I thought created the background would be time-consuming, but it went together in a flash!  Thanks for popping in today for a visit!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Just a note; I had a reader ask a question about something yesterday, but she commented as "anonymous" with no email address, so I could not answer her question! If you choose to do that, it's fine, but send me an email (my address is on the right sidebar) if you have a question; I hate to have someone feel like I am ignoring them!  Thanks!

PP530 Sweet Friend Sketch

Hi stampers!  Sunday brings a new Paper Players challenge with Ann as our hostess and she's sharing a great sketch!  Here we go:

I have been itching to play with the new set Welcoming Window, so I paired it with some colors from the Color Dare Tic-Tac-Toe palette:

I chose the top row across, using Highland Heather, Mossy Meadow and Balmy Blue!  So here we go:

I did a bit of creative stamping and diecutting to get the window the way I wanted, then added the vase and flowers:

This set has a lot of sweet sentiments, and I love this one; I cut it out with the Tasteful Labels die:

I added this sweet little corner vine:

and another pretty sentiment, backed with some brick:

I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks, where they are looking for "occasions"!

This is a great basic sketch that can be made as simple or layered as you want!  Can't wait to see how you interpret it!  Be sure to pop over to the Paper Players blog to check out the awesome samples!  Thanks for stopping by today!
