PP761 Boo! Sketch from Joanne

Hello stampers! Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and Joanne has an awesome sketch for us this week!  So much fun!

I have so many Halloween stamps, it's hard to get to all of them but I couldn't let the month go by without using this funny cat and jack:

This image is from 100 Proof Press, stamped on some Basic White in Versafine Black, then watercolored lightly.  I overstamped it with the retired Weathered background stamp to give it an aged look!  The boo is from an old Recollections stamp as well.  My papers are all from Unity, and they complement the vintage look of my scary cat.  A few orange glimmer stars finished it off!  Here's the inside of the card:

Another vintage goodie from Lizzie Anne, adorned with a couple more stars!

This sketch is so versatile, you can use it for lots of occasions! Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the designers did with it.  Put on your creative thinking caps then, and share your creation with us!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP507 Mallard Birthday

Hi everyone!  I am back from vacation in beautiful (s)lower Delaware and although I think it rained a lot here in PA, it was beautiful there! The beach was lovely, and all the storms we had were at night!  Anyway, I am back with this week's Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee is our hostess with a much-needed challenge:

Boy, we all struggle with those masculine cards don't we?  Well, I pulled out Field Journal because the images are great for masculine cards and they are easy to color in; for my card today, I chose the mallard:

I stamped Mr Mallard on some Crumb Cake cardstock in Stazon Black and watercolored him with various inks, using some white craft ink for his neck.  After coloring him, I overstamped the whole image with a retired background stamp called Weathered, and added some sponging to the edges.  It's hard to see, but the circle is mounted on a stitched circle of Kraft paper as well:

I added a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings and diecut it with a retired Bitty Banners die; the background is from the Plaid Tidings DSP line, and the card base is Pretty Peacock.  I added another strip of the DSP on the inside, along with a sentiment from Happiest of Birthdays and a little pine sprig from Winter Woods:

And it qualifies for the Festive Friday challenge this week as well:

I used plaid, stitching, green and brown!

This was a pretty simple card to create....I rarely add a lot of layers or embellishments on my masculine cards for obvious reasons, although the guys in my family do tell me they enjoy getting my cards!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!  The Design Team has some awesome creations!  Be sure to check them out the PP blog!  Can't wait to see what you create!

While we were on vacation, Cassidy started fifth grade!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS308 and CC79 Rustic Neutrals

Hi all!  I had a nice relaxing evening and had fun creating this neutral-hued card for The Card Concept and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

So here we go:

For the "style" that I used here, I guess it could be called Classy Elegant or maybe Shabby Chic!  I started with a Crumb Cake background and pulled out a really old background stamp called Weathered and stamped it with Craft White ink.  I used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder for the Very Vanilla panel; the wreath is made with some Kraft cardstock; the pumpkins are stamped in various neutral shades, and the leaves were diecut from Soft Sky, Mint Macaron and Lost Lagoon that were sponged with Craft White ink to soften the colors a bit.

I added some sequins, a Champagne Foil horizontal panel, and a sympathy sentiment inside and out:

So happy you dropped by today!

Cassidy was proud to show me the plant she is growing in school!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
