CQC112 & FTL167
Happy Tuesday before Thanksgiving! Arielle’s inspiration for today’s ColourQ challenge is certainly a unique one:
I am pretty sure these are jelly beans making up these faux Indian corns…..yummo! And I am pretty sure the early pioneers never had Indian corn that tasted like these do! Anyway, Arielle has a digi image of Indian corn, so I used that plus this week’s Fall To Layout #167 from Clean & Simple:
to make my Thanksgiving card:
The sentiment is computer-generated with a font called “Written on His Hands'” and was a gift to me by my friend Tammy! Isn’t it lovely? And here’s the inside, using a sentiment & image from Waltzingmouse:
I know that this is a busy week for all the stampers in the states, but I do hope you’ll have time to play along. Stop over to the ColourQ blog to see what the others have created this week as well!
Learning to eat with a spoon---very messy but fun!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Digital from Wax Fruit Company, Waltzingmouse Stamps
- Paper: WW, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, DCWV Mat Stack
- Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso
- Acc: Copics, Nesties, Tim Holtz EF, Buttons & thread, Dimensionals

Forgotten Fall Cards
I apologize to all my blog friends whose blogs I have been neglecting….for some reason, it just seems as though I am really busy with other things the past week or so!!! I also have company coming next week and some holiday things to prepare, so I may be MIA occasionally in the coming weeks. Not to worry, I will be around but may not post every day!
I realized I hadn’t shared a couple fall-themed cards that I had stamped earlier. This was a birthday card for a friend:
It uses a PTI image and sentiment and was colored with Copics. The next one used an image from Arielle and was also colored with Copics:
If you have any questions about elements used on these, please shoot me an email! And thanks for visiting today!

I Love October
Woohoo! I don’t always post on Saturdays but since it is October 1, and I love October, I made a couple seasonal cards today! They both use digital images and are colored with Copics, although I was doing them in front of the television last night and in broad daylight, I can see some glaring mishaps that I’ll need to “fix”! But here they are, warts & all! The first is just an all-purpose card which I left blank; I’ll stamp a sentiment inside when I decide to use it:
The second is a little Halloween box from SU’s Box #2 diecut….my top little jacko is missing some blending on his nose!!!
This is also for Shirley’s Monster Mash Halloween Blog Hop (you can play along—see below) as well as the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge 86 for this week, which is also Halloween! And the sentiment is a gift from my sweet friend Martha…..how convenient that I made this today, right? Can you guess who might get this for Halloween??
We went to a local orchard this morning and I managed to snag a few pictures before she face-planted in the gravel and the morning went downhill from there! As it was, the only way I could get her to smile here was to sing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”….her current favorite song!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting! If you have any questions about the projects, just shoot me an email!

Happy to Bee
Arielle has a little gallery challenge going on over at the Wax Fruit Company, and since I hadn’t played with this bee and honeycomb image yet, I thought today would be a good time! Here’s my card:
The sketch is loosely based on this week’s Mojo 203 sketch but I missed a couple of the elements, so I am not even going to submit it, but I still like it! All the DPs are from My Minds Eye Hattie series; I actually printed the honeycomb image directly on one of them. Everything was colored with Copics, and the bee’s wings even have a little shimmer to them:
I used some ribbon from my stash for the big honkin’ bow! I think I’ll send this out to a special friend today!
A few minutes in our yard yesterday:
A snack on the quilt…….
only lasts a few minutes, if that…..and it’s off we go:
Mmmm, I wonder if these stones taste better than grapes:
Drat, banished to the stroller---that’s okay, I’ll just kick back:
Can you see who is lurking in the mint, basil & roses:
Why, it’s Pumpkin….escaping the clutches of Cassidy! Enjoy your day, and thanks for visiting!

ColourQ 90 & Mojo 196
It’s Tuesday and that means it’s ColourQ time! Here is the fun color challenge Arielle has given us today:
These colors could lend themselves to so many images---I hope you’ll take the challenge and put your spin on them. I chose a little digital image from Arielle along with the Mojo Monday 196 sketch:
and here’s my card:
For some reason, I really struggled with this card—it just didn’t come together as easily as I would have liked! I did some paper piecing with Poppy Parade Patterns DP on the little quilt as well as the pincushion from SU’s Sew Suite set; some embossing and a punched border and I printed the sentiment teeny tiny so I could use the sentiment flag from Laura! I think it bothers me that the pins cause my Brilliant Blue panel to pucker…..but, as my boss used to say, “It is what it is!”
Thanks for visiting today! Any questions, give me a shout!

Pretty Peas
Woohoo, two posts in one day---I am sneaking in a quick little card I worked up today with one of Arielle’s sweet images from her latest release:
This is for the Less is More Challenge #18, which is monochromatic. It’s also sponsored by Arielle’s WFC, so I thought it fitting to use one of her images! I experimented by printing the digi out on some watermark stationery I had; the Copics bled a teeny little bit, but not much---I really didn’t do much blending either! But it worked up quickly in the various shades of green.
I printed another image on some Wild Wasabi Patterns DP and layered my cut-out image on top. A Tim Holtz brick EF and some ribbon from my stash finished off my CAS creation! TFL!
Speaking of “peas”, here is Grampy doin’ his lunchtime thing….Cassidy thinks it is quite funny to bite on the spoon!

Just Married
If you’re looking for my ColourQ post, it’s here!
I was having a couple issues with my LiveWriter today, so I thought I’d do a little test post with a card using one of Arielle’s latest digi images from her Wax Fruit Company! I don’t know of anyone getting married any time soon, but it was such a fun image, I couldn’t resist playing with it! (She has the image without the sentiment on it, too!):
I very loosely used the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch from this week:
I colored in the image with Copics; I am wishing I had not use that green for the background, but really, I was only playing around and didn’t even plant to make it into a card!! I stitched some Stella Rose papers together and used a Texturz plate from SU for my background. The sentiment was computer generated, and I made the button by punching four hearts with a small punch, punching holes and gluing them together, then coating them with a layer of Crystal Effects.
Thanks for visiting today! I hope this posts! :D

ColourQ86
Happy Tuesday and happy ColourQ challenge! I am trying to be upbeat today, but my heart is heavy as I see the photographs of Joplin. So much destruction, and I know there have been other parts of the country in the last few months that have been affected by tornadoes, floods and other acts of nature. Prayers going out to everyone in those areas.
Arielle has chosen a bright, fun inspiration for today:
Hah! Who wouldn’t love to have a pair of socks or slippers like this?! These toes look a lot better than mine do, LOL! I decided to do one of Arielle’s Wax Fruit Company digital images because she is also having a little contest and I love to play with her images!!! I thought the berry in a bucket image would be perfect:
Since I am NOT a very good Copic colorer, I chose to paper-piece my images with some SU paper and merely shade them with my Copics. I added the sentiment with some ribbon & rickrack and mounted everything on a Daffodil Delight panel that was embossed with the Perfect Petals EF. I think maybe I should have added some glitter to the seeds but I didn’t have enough patience to do that!!!
I hope YOU have enough patience to play along with the ColourQ this week—stroll on over to the blog to see the other samples and play along! This combo is sure to brighten your day!
