AHSC683 Sunflower Friend

Happy Monday, all!  Blessed Memorial Day to those in the US, too.  Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

What a lovely sketch--love all those layers!  So here we go:

I pulled out the old Celebrate Sunflower bundle and created some sunflowers, then added my layers of gingham and prints from my paper stash!  I couldn't help adding some embossing in the middle, using the pretty Lazy Daisy embossing folder, then a "friend" sentiment from Waffle FLower, as this is a birthday card for a special friend.  I am not even showing the inside because she might realize it's for her, LOL!  I stamped the sunflowers in Golden Glow and used a sponge dauber to color them in, adding a wee bit of Soft Sea Foam marker to the leaves:

Some simple yellow sequins finished it off!  I hope you'll play along with our lovely sketch this week too! You can find details at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog!  Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC679 Pop Up Birthday

Happy Monday, stamping friends! A new fun sketch from Atlantic Hearts is ours today:

A square sketch is always fun--just a wee bit different!  Since I knew I had a banner die that would be perfect for this card, I chose some bright, cheerful glossy prints for my layers to create a child's birthday card:

Pretty straightforward; I just cut some of the bright prints and adhered them to a Granny Apple Green 4 1/4" square card base, then added the diecut banner.  The birthday die was cut from some Daffodil Delight cardstock and I added a wee little heart-shaped resin embellishment over the "i"!

Since the front of the card was lacking anything too exciting, I decided to do a pop-up element on the inside with some diecut balloons and a strip of clear acetate:

In hindsight, using a balloon punch probably would have been easier; I had to add a backing piece since the diecut was an inlay and my pieces had nothing to hold on to!  I managed to assemble it and adhere it to the acetate; it doesn't lay 100% flat, but it'll do!

And a birthday sentiment from Waffle Flower finished it off!

I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch this week!  See you at the blog!  And thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

As You See It 371 Recipe in Pink

Hello all!  Happy Friday! It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this week, it's Recipe time!  Here we go:

My friend Colleen recently made a gorgeous postage-style card (you can see it HERE) and she inspired me to get out my postage dies and stamps and put them to use! I only used hers as a starting point, as she did neutrals and vintage.  Mine is decidedly PINK and floral:

I already had this Pink Pirouette diecut "frame" in my Pink Pirouette folder, so I used that as my starting point. I stamped images from the retired Hand-Penned Petals on the frame as well as on one of the postage stamps, and used the dies from the same set to create some detailed flowers.  The little seed packet image is from the retired Flowering Rain Boots.  I added a sentiment from Hero Arts as well as some postage stamp elements from Waffle Flower:

My final addition was a wee little bit of grosgrain ribbon for accent.  It was fun to mix and match these images and sets, do some stamping and sponging, then put it all together! I hope you'll find something to create using our "recipe" this week at As You See It!  Can't wait to see what comes of it!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP781 Extreme Dirt Bike Birthday

Happy Sunday, all!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge and Jan is our hostess with an interesting color challenge:

I confess that my first thought when seeing these colors was to use them with my beloved bumblebees---perfect colors, don't you think?  BUT I needed a birthday card for my nephew Jameson, and he loves dirt bikes, so I switched gears (no pun intended) and went in a different direction:

I started by stamping some grunge elements in Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight, then stamped the biker with Stazaon Black ink.  I added some stitched lines to look like tracks, then a simple birthday sentiment and some gray metal embellishments.

It went on a Smoky Slate card base with this sentiment on the inside:

I may have used this same stamp on his card last year (can't remember) but I hope he doesn't mind!  Here's a photo of Jameson (on the right) with Maven and Sawyer at Christmas!  They're all getting so big!

I hope you'll create something with these great colors this week!  Not only are they good bee colors, they're probably good for some other cool subjects as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share them with us at the Players!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI369 Happy Birthday Sundae

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have some fun plans this weekend!  It's time for a new As You See It Challenge, and it's a lovely color challenge:

I love the Easter egg cookies in this basket, but I am pretty much done my Easter cards, so I chose another bunny to go with my pastel colors!  Here we go:

Since the Just Add Ink challenge this week is to add stripes, I stamped the bottom left corner with the Painted Stripes stamp in Soft Sea Foam, then added a little Soft Sea Foam strip, diecut with a Wonky Stitched Frame die from My Favorite Things.  Then I stamped my little ice-cream-sundae-eating bunny in Versafine ink and watercolored him in with Pretty in Pink and Pool Party inks:

The sentiment is from the new Notes of Spring stamp set, available only in March!  Love that font!  A little Waffleflower birthday sentiment went on the inside, with a little background stamping from Label Me Bold:

These colors are sweet for any spring occasion!  I hope you'll be inspired by them and come create with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JAI779 Simple Birthday

Happy Tuesday, all!  Yesterday was Dana's birthday,so I made a very simple card for her using the Just Add Ink sketch:

I've not used the Perennial Lavender papers for a while, and she likes purple, so that's what I went with:

I added a little charm from my stash, tied to a white grosgrain ribbon; the sentiment below is from Prayers & Promises:

The inside sentiments are from Pinkfresh and Waffle Flower:

AYSI364 Another Beer

Happy Friday, all!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge of 2026 and it's a fun one!  It's a fill-in-the-blank, and we want you to use your newest craft purchase!

My newest craft purchase is some Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol!  This technique of blending colored pencils with Gamsol has been around for a long time, but I never jumped on that bandwagon, so "Santa" very nicely gave some to me for Christmas (thanks, John!)!  And since Wayne's birthday is today, I decided to use this technique on a Unity stamp set---a mug of beer!  So here we go with my CAS creation:

I stamped the beer mug with Versafine ink, diecut it out, then colored the beer with Goldenrod and Spanish Orange Prismacolor pencils, adding a little Light Cerulean Blue to the mug itself and Black on the suds:

I added the sentiment to a Very Vanilla card and popped up the beer, adding some shading to the bottom with Pecan Pie ink.  My Wink of Stella kind of "exploded" while I was trying to add some sparkle, so it is VERY sparkly, LOL!  Here's the inside, using another sentiment from the same Unity set along with a Waffleflower Inside Sentiments Birthday set:

I am also entering this at the Addicted to CAS challenge, where they are looking for "glass"!

SO....what new goodies did you get for Christmas or just recently?  We'd love to see what you create with them!  Share them with us over at the As You See It blog!  Can't wait!

FMS702 Friend

Happy Thursday, everyone! We just returned from a nice beachy vacation at the lovely little Delaware town of Lewes (pronounced "Lewis").  I don't think I ever had an August vacation where the weather was as perfect as we had this past week!  Just delightful!  But I was itching to get back in my craft room and I admit I feel a bit rusty!  Dana gave me some pretty papers for my birthday and I decided to use one of them for the FMS sketch this week.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my soft feminine take on it:

I diecut a circle and some leaves from the papers, mounting them on a piece of Very Vanilla embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, then added a little organdy rose that SU had a LONG time ago!!  I also added a couple of little glimmer paper swirly diecuts for fun:

The sentiment diecut is from Waffle Flower.  I left the inside blank; I'll fill that in when I decide to send it to a friend!  Thanks for popping in today!

A couple of pictures from vacation; we ate dinner one evening at the Cape May-Lewes ferry terminal while we watched the ferry go out:

This cool mural greets you as you go into the terminal:

It amazed me how many cars, trucks and RVs they were able to get aboard!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP747 CAS Things With Wheels

Happy Sunday, all! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, where it's Clean-and-Simple week, one of my favorites!  Here's my theme:

I think this theme could be great for masculine OR feminine cards! I actually went with a feminine image, using an older Waffleflower layering set that's not seen much ink:

Although it took me a couple of tries to get everything lined up, I like the graphic look of it! I  used the colors from Color Throwdown as my palette:

I used Daffodil Delight for the girl's dress, adding some gray polka dots; her bike is Memento Black and Flirty Flamingo, and the sentiment (Technique Tuesday) and shadows are Smoky Slate:

I embellished the sentiment with a gray enamel dot, then I added some pink and gold paper to match the pink bike! It all went on a Smoky Slate card base, and I stamped a sentiment from a Reverse Confetti set on the inside.

This is a little bit out of my normal style, but I think it's fun and unusual!  I hope you'll play along with our CAS challenge this week at the Players! Just remember to keep in simple!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC617 Birthday Card for Someone Special

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

Yesterday was Dana's birthday, so I used the sketch to make her card:

All the papers are from Perennial Lavender; the sentiment is from Waffleflower.

I created some white buttons with a no-name button die and threaded through some Linen Thread to tie them together:

And on the inside, I stamped some birthday wishes from Hooray for Surprises:

I hope you'll be able to play along with our sketch this week too! I loved this one, and the three elements could be interpreted as many things!  Share it with us over the AHSC blog!

We had the family and Wayne's parents over for lunch yesterday for Dana's b-day:

My cake decorating skills have never been stellar, but it tasted good!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Cute Little Postage Stamps

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I was lying in bed unable to sleep one night last week and remembered I had these cute tiny little stamps in my stash that would be good for a postage-style card.  The stamps are pretty poor quality, but they are cute, and with a little TLC, I can usually get them to stamp a fairly good image.  I already had a piece of Pool Party embossed with a snowflake embossing folder, so I used that as my starting point:

The card itself is notecard-sized.  I used dies from Waffle Flower's Postage Collage set, then stamped the images and added some shading and coloring.  A couple of stamped images from the Postage Collage stamp set added to the "postage" feel.  Snowflake Sky is the embossing folder I used, and I sponged Craft White ink all over the embossing for that snowy look!  A sentiment from Papertrey went on the inside.

And since the Double D Challenge has a beautiful winter theme, I am going to pop it in there, as well as the Can You Handle The Pressure challenge!  (Thanks for the suggestion, Darlene!)

Thanks for stopping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
