Complimentary Peanuts

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have a silly little birthday card today for my brother; every time I look at this stamp set, it cracks me up, hopefully he'll get the humor too.  It uses the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday as well as the Stamp Act challenge from Krafty Chicks and Felicita's  Tic Tac Toe challenge!

I used the bottom row across of free, embellishment and diecut.  So here we go:

I used some papers from my stash; stamped the peanuts and loosely colored them with Blends, then stamped the "compliments" separately and popped them up after cutting them out:

Being the only boy in the family, this is probably pretty much how my brother sees himself anyway, so I'm sure he'll get it! LOL!  Just kidding!  But he does know he's pretty special!

We got a nice little snowfall yesterday, it was fun to watch the flakes while I made cookies and decorated our tree!  This little bird didn't let the snow deter him:

And even Mr Fox was out and about:

Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

Fruitful Blessings Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, stamping friends! Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and the Color Hues challenge was yellow and kraft:

I still had Fruitful Blessings on my desk from yesterday's card and I had some stamped images unused, so I put them together:

I used the sketch only from Try Stampin On Tuesday:

My image was stamped in Stazon Black and watercolored with Crumb Cake ink. I then added some retired DSP for the panels, added a diecut circle that was embossed with the Timeworn Type EF and a little linen thread bow.  The sentiment is from  Lasting Joy:

I added two sentiments from Special Moments on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

God blesses the soil which drinks in the rain that often falls on it and which grows plants that are useful to those for whim it is cultivated.  But if it grows thorns and weeds, it is worth nothing; it is in danger of being cursed by God and will be destroyed by fire. Hebrews 6:7-8

TSOT627 Pumpkin Friend

Happy Wednesday, all!  I've been pushing these papers around on my desk for a couple of weeks and finally forced myself to use them on a card!  The Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch seemed to fit:

So here we go:

I found some retired Gilded Autumn Specialty paper in my stash and it seemed to go with this orange print from Honey Bee's Halloween Harvest.  I stamped a pumpkin in Grapefruit Grove and Cajun Craze inks on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to create my pumpkin:

It's hard to see, but I added some gold ink to the lines of my pumpkin using a Gold Painty Pen...I love the effect it gives!  A bit of copper twine and a Brushed Gold diecut circle in the background add to the sheen!  My sentiment is from Papertrey's Vintage Picnic Sentiments, stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock too.  And a sentiment from the retired Pretty Pumpkins went on the inside:

Any shade of orange is my favorite color and pumpkins and fall themes work well with it!

The great-nephew's first day of school:

They're getting so tall!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

All About Autumn DSP Is Beautiful

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! Ours was busy but fun!  Today is Stamp Camp day, so housekeeping is in my cards, LOL!  But first, a couple of cards that I created over the weekend while playing with my new holiday mini catalog goodies.  The All About Autumn DSP is gorgeous!  Lots of beautiful photograpic papers as well as some pretty metallics and awesome masculine patterns.

First, I made a simple "hello" card using these amazing papers...who knew you could use pink and mauve for LEAVES?!!!  Really, my pictures don't do it justice.  Check it out:

Just a layer of DSP, cut with a Stitched Rectangle die, and a mat of Bubble Bath, also diecut, on top of a Moody Mauve card.  I did do a little heat embossing in gold on Early Espresso and diecut it with a Countryside Corners die, then added a pretty mauve and copper-foil DSP mat as well. It's hard to tell but I colored the gold pearls with a  Rococco Rose Blend to give them more of a mauve color too!

Since I still had a little piece of that DSP left, I used it to create another card (my favorite of the two!):

I used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

and I used another Moody Mauve metallic pattern for the vertical piece.  Both layers are matted with another gorgeous surprise that I missed in the regular catalog, Soft Shimmer specialty paper; this one is in Bubble Bath and is oh-so-pretty IRL!

I didn't want to hide that pretty leaf, so I created a Basic Black diecut circle and stamped a sentiment from Cottage Wreaths on some vellum for my sentiment.   The white card is embossed with the Leaf Fall embossing folder to continue the fall feel of my card.  You'll definitely be seeing more of these papers in the future!

So the new teenager's party was over the weekend!  I loved Dana's decorations (even her African violet got in on the purple decor!):

And the card got a so-so reception!  She really doesn't like people watching her open her gifts so she was a bit subdued!  I do have a few more pix I'll show in the coming week!  She starts school on the 28th!  Yikes!

Thanks for visiting today..enjoy it and be blessed!

PP653 Fruitful Blessings

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you're having a great weekend!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players challenge hostess this week and she has an interesting color challenge for us:

These colors really challenged me this week---I am all about those warm colors but Blackberry Bliss is not one that I normally gravitate to!  Usually when there is a color like that, I tend to use just a wee little bit of it!  But today I decided to go whole hog and featured Blackberry Bliss as my main color! Here we go:

I used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

and a new stamp set that will be in the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog called Fruitful Blessings.  I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss ink while in my Stamparatus, then cleaned the stamp, leaving it on the plate, and inked it again with Versamark.  Then I heat-embossed the image with clear embossing powder and used an Aquapainter to color in the image.  I used watercolor paper and I think the ink bled a little bit, but I used it anyway!  I added some speckles and a little shading around the outside, then used a Deckle Edge die to cut it out.  I embossed a Blackberry Bliss card with the Leaf Fall embossing folder, added some various DSPs and a wee bit of stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon for the horizontal elements in the sketch, and finally, stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade for the circular element.  A couple of yellow rhinestones finished the front:

I diecut another deckle-edged piece and added a sentiment and a pretty leaf on the inside to complete my card. This is a really pretty set of fall images and I look forward to playing with it more in the future!

The design team has done a fabulous job with these colors---they came up with some really original designs, so if you're looking for some inspiration, check out the Paper Players blog and see what inspires you!  Can't wait to see your creations!

Last week Cassidy and I went down to our neighbor's pasture to give his donkey and horse some carrots.  Paco the donkey has been around for a while and in his old age, he's not real keen on people, and it took him a while to come close to the fence:

Even when Cassidy held out the carrot, he would not come all the way up to her, so she finally threw it in the pasture to see if he'd pick it up.  The doleful look on his face cracks me up!

Eventually, he deigned to pick it up and trotted off to eat it in peace.  I wish I had gotten a video of him trotting away, it was pretty funny!  Despite his fat little tummy, he was pretty spry!

The horse, on the other hand, was quite eager to take whatever we gave him...he cleaned us out of carrots!!  They're on our grocery list to be replenished!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

The Lord created the heavens by his command, the sun, moon, and stars by his spoken word.  He gathered all the seas into one place; he shut up the ocean depths in storerooms.  Worship the Lord, all the earth!  Honor him, all peoples of the world!  When he spoke, the world was created; at his command everything appeared.     Psalm 33:6-7

BYSH Christmas in July

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  The week is almost half over! I have a Christmas card today for a new-to-me challenge called Build Your Stash Holiday Cards!  Their theme is Christmas in July, and although I don't think you have to use their prompt as inspiration, I liked it so much, that I did!  Here's the prompt:

(And I believe there are prizes involved!)  I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

And here we go:

I used some retired DSPs in Soft Succulent and Mint Macaron and the Cottage Wreath set, stamped in White Craft ink on Mint Macaron.  I sprinkled Heat & Stick powder on the white image, heated it up and then added some chunky glitter to make my wreath sparkle.  Some giant Specialty Glimmer paper "berries" and bow, and brown pearls completed my wreath.  I mounted on an embossed banner, then used the same set for the sentiment:

It's hard to see in a photograph, but it's quite sparkly in real life!  Everything went on a Very Vanilla card, and I stamped a sentiment from Hope & Peace on the inside:

Another for my Christmas card stash!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT609 Big Dino Congrats

Happy Wednesday, all!  I have a fun little new baby congratulations card for you today; it uses the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

and the retired Dino Days stamp!  Here we go:

The papers are all from the Dandy Designs Sale-a-bration DSP...I'll be using that forever, LOL!  I stamped Mr Dino in Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide; the sentiment is from the retired Special Moments:

I added some Matte In Color dots, then a sentiment from Charming Sentiments on the inside:

So cute!  Hope you have a great day--enjoy it and be blessed!

Tis the Season

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been very neglectful in keeping up with my Christmas cards; it's a bit challenging when the temps are in the 80s!  But there were some fun challenges around, so I put on my elf hat and went to work!  I used the sketch from TSOT, the Peace on Earth Day challenge from Jingle Belles (use something recycled) and the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown color challenge of red and green:

I began with a white card base and I found this knit-embossed panel in my stash; someone gifted it to me a long time ago and I have been hoarding it!  Time to put it to use!

Many years ago, my creative friend Michele sent me these Papertrey sleds; this is the last one in my little stash!  I mounted it on some Shaded Spruce and Basic White panels that were embossed and diecut, then I embellished it with some greenery and a little brass bell that was recycled from a gift package my friend Sandy gave me!  The wood-grain circle is also recycled; when Michele sent me the sleds, she sent them in a cool wood-grain envelope, which I carefully unassembled and used the flap to diecut a circle!  Thanks, Michele!

Both sentiments inside and out are from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT597 Regency Park Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  We're holding on to our hats here in PA....the winds have been brutal over the last couple of days!  Good days to stay inside and stamp!  My card today is for a sweet lady at our church who celebrated her birthday last week, but I am just now posting it! It uses the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday:

So, AFTER I sent the card, I realized I didn't put the ribbon/bow at the top...but I am going to post it anyway!  I just love the colors and patterns, so here we go:

I used Regency Park and Country Gingham DSPs for all the panels; the flower is from Nature's Prints, stamped in Sweet Sorbet and sponged with Petal Pink.  I used a birthday sentiment from Best Family Ever, and created a little zigzag border for it using the Basic Border dies:

The inside sentiment is from Charming Sentiments!

I hope she liked it; she is almost blind and rarely attends church any more, but still runs her farm...with help!  She is an amazing lady!

The hostess of my evening stamp club brought these beautiful favors to everyone on Monday night:

Anyone remember those cute little egg cartons SU had several years ago?  This one was wrapped in a gorgeous piece of Hues of Happiness DSP, then decorated with ribbon, baker's twine, a gorgeous tag and butterfly.  And not only did we get a sweet little packet of seeds, there was CANDY inside!  Thanks, Lori!  My stamping friends are the best!

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
