TMS492 You Are Wonderful

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a couple simple cards today, both using this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I love things in threes, so when I saw this, I knew I had to play!  I sort of did the sketch from memory once I saw it, so I "forgot" that the sentiment band went all the way across...hopefully it will be okay!  The first card is for someone who did a really nice favor for me, so I made her a thank-you card using some American Crafts Shimelle papers and a couple of stamp sets:

I stamped the little feather from Papertrey's What the Doodle Feather set in So Saffron, Mint Macaron, and Merry Merlot (stamped off once), then fussy cut them out and mounted them on some stitched circles:

The sentiment from Rooted in Nature seemed perfect, also stamped in Mint Macaron:

I mounted the whole shebang on a So Saffron card base...I just think these colors and patterns are so fun!

My next card is a little note card made for the cancer center; it uses the same sketch, but the color challenge from Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

This is one REALLY simple; a layer of Highland Heather on a white notecard, then a layer of Twinkle Twinkle DSP, and some words and a sentiment from Close to My Heart's Inspired Words:

I stamped the dragonfly from Touches of Texture with Highland Heather ink, then colored it with Blends and some Wink of Stella, then popped it up on a mini dimensional:

I hope it brings some encouragement!  Thanks for popping in today!

Speaking of encouragement, Dana had been talking at dinner about work issues, and when she opened her lunch the next day, she found another little lunchbox card from Cassidy:

I guess we probably all wish for a day like that, LOL!  Enjoy yours and be blessed!  And remember...little pitchers have big ears!

Being So Sweet

Happy Monday, peeps!  No Cassidy today, and I was able to get a little stamping done today that wasn't for a DT!  The JUGS challenge this week is pastels, and the Global Design Project also has the pastel colors of Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Petal Pink:

That little row-of-hearts die in the Be Mine framelit set was calling my name, so I cut it out four times:  once each in Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Petal Pink, then I went to work:

I used a piece of Adhesive Sheet on the back of the white outline piece, then used some Multi-Adhesive and my Take Your Pick tool to pick up and place the hearts back randomly in the outline.  I am challenging myself to USE THE STAMPS I OWN, and I am going to try to feature them alphabetically backwards, LOL!  SO...this card uses a sentiment from Treat Time and the color splotches from Touches of Texture:

Does anyone else find Petal Pink an awkward color to use?  I don't think the ink looks very pink here, it looks more orange to me..what do you think?  I miss my Pink Pirouette!!  Anyway, my final addition was a few pearls and some Wink of Stella on the white hearts, which you can't see here, but is quite pretty!

So hard to believe how much Cassidy is growing up!  She is still a tomboy but lets Dana "do" her hair sometimes!

Thanks for visiting today!  So happy you dropped in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

One Sheet Wonder Sympathy

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Sadly, our family needed two sympathy cards this week.  The In(k)Spire Me challenge had some pretty colors in it:

I decided to make three cards by using the "one-sheet wonder" technique with the challenge colors, doing some random stamping with various floral images on a half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  I cut it into two sheets that are 3 1/4" wide and added a piece of Animal Expedition DSP to follow the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch for this week:

So here we go:

I added a piece of silver ribbon and a silver foil scalloped mat under the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases stamped in Balmy Blue:

The remaining piece of stamped cardstock was matted with Soft Sea Foam, and placed atop a piece of embossed Balmy Blue that I already had in my stash! They were both just the right size for the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch:

And here's the final product:

I diecut a piece of Whisper White with a Stitched Label die and added a sentiment from the same set, then I colored some pearls with a silver Zig Painty Pen to add a little silver accent, and although it's hard to see, a little panel of silver foil along the left side of the stamped piece:

Thanks for popping in today!

Because of the snowstorm, Cassidy spent the night with us on Thursday and had a two-hour delay on Friday, which was John's birthday.  She hid his gift (in his bedroom closet) and wanted to give him clues to help lead him to it, sort of like a scavenger hunt!

He was able to follow the clues from room to room:

upstairs:

downstairs:

and back upstairs where he finally found it!

She did a great job and it was a lot of fun!  Tonight we'll go out to dinner for a little more fun!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

AYSI185 Eclectic Blues

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Friday, and it looks like it will be a nice weekend ahead for us!  My dad had to be put in the hospital for a couple of days for his leg and hopefully he'll come home today...he is not a good patient, LOL!  Thankfully my sister has way more patience than I do since he is living with her!  Anyway, it's time for another As You See It challenge, and it's a beauty!  What do you think?

What a gorgeous color combo...bright and bold!  I used the Sketch Saturday sketch, squeaking it in under the wire:

And here we go:

My card base was embossed with the Tufted EF, and I used Gallery Grunge and Touches of Texture to create an eclectic panel in the three challenge colors.  I added a diecut mat in Dapper Denim and a little stitched banner for my sentiment, then finished it off with some baker's twine and sequins:

I like this sentiment!!  Good for lots of things!  Thanks for popping in, I sure hope that you will play along with our challenge and add some bright colors to your creation!!  See you in the gallery!

Since our neighbors allow us to swim in their pool all summer long, when I found a pool tube (on sale!) that looked like a doughnut, I thought it would be a fun way to thank them!  They can't use it until next year, but by the look on Jackie's face, she was pretty excited:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI93 Pretty Sketch

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, it's the end of the week and we can relax a little!!  It's time for another As You See It challenge, and it's a sketch, which gave me a chance to use some of my new stash of DSPs!  These are from Twinkle Twinkle and I thought the colors and prints were very sweet together:

Would you like to see the sketch?  Sure you would!  Here we go:

Image may contain: text

I started by cutting a piece of the polka-dotted paper with a Lawn Fawn stitched scalloped die, then flipping over the remaining piece, which is that pretty stripe,  and cutting off the negative portion of the scallop for my bottom; I heat embossed "many thanks" in white on Night of Navy and die cut it for my sentiment:

For the floral embellishment, I stamped the flowers from Touches of Texture in Night of Navy ink, then colored them with blends; my colors are exactly right, since the paper is Powder Pink and my flowers are shades of Pumpkin Pie and Cameo Coral, but I think they work together!  The centers are Mint Macaron, and after fussy-cutting them out, I mounted them on top of a piece of gingham ribbon:

After birthday cards, I seem to need thank you cards the most!  I already have this one addressed and ready to mail out!  I hope you'll use this sketch and share your inspiration with us at As You See It, and while you're there, check out what the design team created as well!

A few more birthday cards....we're almost at the end!!

This balloon sailed across the pond, and it was created by my Paper Players teammate, Joanne!

Sandy must know that I love bees!!

And my sweet friend Debbie created this fresh beauty!  Thanks, ladies!

So Cassidy was playing with clay the other day and created a "drink and a straw" with her favorite fast food logo!!! (I thought I'd better tell you what she created because I know I couldn't figure it out!!!):

I was thinking it sort of looked like a ghost wearing a McDonald's outfit!!!

Silly girl!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

HSS293 Today Blooms

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I am feeling a wee bit better, good thing, because I have my stamp clubs today!  I always enjoy seeing my friends!  In fact, one of them has a birthday coming up and I thought these colors at Hand Stamped Sentiments were beautiful together:

So, I made a card for her AND a card for my stash!  I used a card base of Pool Party, ran it through the Tufted EF and added elements from Touches of Texture:

One thing that I love about SU's Blend markers is that you can used any color of ink in which to stamp your image, and when you color it in with the alcohol marker, it won't bleed!  I stamped these in flowers and dragonfly in Smoky Slate, then colored them with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Blends:

I added some silver thread, a banner sentiment from Perennial Birthday, and some frames cut with the Layering Squares Framelits, then added a few little Irisdescent sequins to add some sparkle!  I think this color combo is a keeper!

SO, as a final phase of our house remodeling project, we will be getting a new patio in a couple of weeks.  Our little maple tree in the backyard was dying and we knew it had to come down, and John wanted to get it down before the patio work started.  So Saturday was D-Day; it was a sad day for me, as it provided shade for Cassidy's swing and our back yard, not to mention a perfect perch for all my birds.  But it just had to go:

He and my nephew cut down the outer branches first, loaded them in the tractor bucket and hauled them to the woods. Little by little, they whittled them off:

Finally, they fastened a chain to the tractor and as John made the last cut, Bradley pulled it into the open portion of the yard:

After LOTS more cutting, this is all that's left!!  John will work on this big chunk little by little.  = My yard certainly looks vacant....and now all I see when I look out my kitchen window is another dead tree (which will be coming down in the fall), the shed and our ugly burn barrel!!!  But we will plant some new trees and hopefully they'll grow quickly!  Meanwhile, the birds have just retreated to the woods...I can still hear them chirping away!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
