TTTC260 Soft Sky Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps! I am off this morning to stamp with my retirement community friends, so this will be short and sweet! The Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Vicky this week is a fun one:

I've been working on some Christmas cards for my next stamp camp and one of them fit the bill; actually, it could be for two tic-tac-toes!  I originally chose the top row across but it could also be the left column down.  Here we go:

I still have a few pieces of Soft Sky cardstock left in my stash, and I thought it would be pretty with this Cottage Cut Winter Wonderland Border die.  I stamped a large sentiment from the retired Greatest Part of Christmas in Baja Breeze, then added a few snowflakes.  The snowflakes sort of blended into the background, so I sponged some white craft ink along with some white Shimmer Paint around the edges.  It's hard to see but it gives the card a nice subtle sparkle!

I added some sparkle to the snow as well....too bad you can't really see it here!  I just love this cute little die!

The inside featured another sentiment from the same set, diecut with the Unbounded Love dies:

I am still on the fence as to whether or not this card will make the cut for the class.  Also, I'd love to get some more cardstock that is close to this pretty shade of blue!  Anyone have any suggestions as to where and what color they would recommend?  I was so sad when SU retired this!  Anyway, thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TTTC257 Thinking of You

Happy Thursday, everyone! I was so happy to be chosen as a guest designer with my old friends at the Tic Tac Toe challenge recently!  Here's the board they've selected for this week:

I chose the right diagonal of die cut, embossing and twine for my fall card today:

I used my favorite fall embossing folder and embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with it.  The leaves are from Lawn Fawn, and I used Real Red, Terracotta Tile and a wee piece of Plaid Tidings to creat them.  A sentiment from Happiest Day on a Pretty Pink Posh diecut tag and some Copper Clay twine finished it off...and of course, a sequin!

I also added a Technique Tuesday sentiment on the inside, stamped in Copper Clay as well:

I think Felicita's board is a great one for some fall/seasonal stamping!  I hope you'll play along with us at Tic Tac Toe!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Copper Stenciled Roses

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Still playing with the Layers of Beauty bundle and since the JUGS challenge this week is stenciling, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring!

Inkspirational is also looking for stencils:

And I am also playing along with my old friends as Tic-Tac-Toe; I chose to use the elements from the left column:

I haven't done any heat embossing for a long time, so I pulled out my copper embossing powder, my Versamark ink pad and went to work:

It's fun to experiment with different colors on these roses; to go with the copper embossing, I chose Peach Pie, Copper Clay, Cajun Craze, Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Even though we're in the midst of summer, I still enjoy these fall hues!

I also heat-embossed a couple of sentiments from Unbounded Love and diecut them with the matching die, then everything got mounted on a panel of Basic White that was embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder and diecut with the Perennial Postage dies.  Around the edges of my Basic Beige card, since I already had my Versamark pad out, I stamped the smaller floral image from the same set; it gives a lovely tone-on-tone effect that doesn't detract from the main design.  I also added a Neutral sequin in copper as well!  You just cannot go wrong with this stamp, stencil and die bundle!

Cassidy had a friend over last weekend and although our weather has been HOT, that particular evening it was quite chilly.  Wayne had set up a TV to watch on the patio, and the girls wanted to watch a spooky movie:

Sweatshirts, blankets, two bowls of popcorn and two DOGS to keep them warm!  Looks like fun! Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Complimentary Peanuts

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have a silly little birthday card today for my brother; every time I look at this stamp set, it cracks me up, hopefully he'll get the humor too.  It uses the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday as well as the Stamp Act challenge from Krafty Chicks and Felicita's  Tic Tac Toe challenge!

I used the bottom row across of free, embellishment and diecut.  So here we go:

I used some papers from my stash; stamped the peanuts and loosely colored them with Blends, then stamped the "compliments" separately and popped them up after cutting them out:

Being the only boy in the family, this is probably pretty much how my brother sees himself anyway, so I'm sure he'll get it! LOL!  Just kidding!  But he does know he's pretty special!

We got a nice little snowfall yesterday, it was fun to watch the flakes while I made cookies and decorated our tree!  This little bird didn't let the snow deter him:

And even Mr Fox was out and about:

Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

Thank You Kindly

Happy Friday, everyone!  I had some fun yesterday, between mowing and making roasted peppers, doing some stamping and watercoloring!  I pulled out an old stamp from 2010 called Countryside, along with the also-retired Buffalo Check from 2018, and this is what I made:

I was inspired by three challenges: the photo and sketch at  Inspired By, Vicky's Tic Tac Toe board, and the Retro Rubber Anything Goes:

Since my truck has apples instead of pumpkins, I chose to make it red!  I stamped it in Black Stazon ink and watercolored it with reinkers.  I did a bit of selective cutting to get my stitched square to work properly!  The Buffalo Check was stamped in Real Red on Very Vanilla and diecut with the Deckle Edge Rectangle dies.  The little apple, from the same set, was also diecut and the sentiment, from Poppy Stamp's Whittle Sayings, has some red and tan twine to make it into a tag.  It fits with the diagonal on the Tic Tac Toe board of  twine, diecut and plaid.

I always thought it would be fun to drive a truck like this, now that I know how to drive a stick shift.  However, I doubt it would have power steering or power brakes, so I think I'll just admire it from my stamp room!

John visited his sister Mimi a few days ago and she gave him some bounty from her garden:

She said she planted three mounds with three or four seeds in each mound and got ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY EIGHT gourds...so far!  Wowza!  Not sure what kind of fertilizer she's using, but it's working!   Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TTTC225 So Very Blessed

Happy Monday, everyone! Yesterday we honored our pastor and his family; they've been at our church for five years and we are so blessed to have them!  The card I made for them fulfilled the Tic Tac Toe challenge:  I used the right column down of square, masculine and leaves:

I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies...these are my all-time favorites....and some leafy paper from my stash, so here we go:

I wish I had made it a wee bit smaller; it's 5 1/4" square, but it is what it is! The sentiments I used are from Stamp Simply's Framhouse Scriptural Thoughts, stamped in Pecan Pie ink.  I cut my leaves from Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.  I did add a couple wee little Crumb Cake stamps in the corner of the sentiment panel; it just looked a little bare.  And I just could not stand adding one little embellishment (my pastor likes things PLAIN...this will probably be too fussy for him, LOL!) of some twine on the smaller leaf:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed too!

CAS Happy Summer

Happy Monday, peeps! Stamp Camp tonight, so this is going to be quick and CAS!!  Three challenges:  Just Us Girls wants three of something; I chose the center column of summer and single layer for the Tic Tac Toe, and CAS on Sunday's theme is "Summer"!

I got this Pretty Pink Posh surfboard set a few years back and it's barely gotten inky, so I thought this would be a good time!  Here we go:

I stamped the images in Memento Black, then added color with Blends.  In hindsight, I wish I had added some pink to the board on the left...it looks a little lopsided, color-wise!  I added some "splashes" as well as some pale aqua sequins:

And on the inside, a sentiment from the retired Sweet Ice Cream:

This will make a great August birthday card for some youngster or young-at-heartster, LOL!

Here's a little youngster I saw on my walk yesterday...and she had a twin but she was camera-shy, although I have seen them both popping in and out of my neighbor's cornfield!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TTTC176 A Kid with Class

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge, and sadly, this will be my last one as a team designer, as I am stepping down from several of my challenge commitments!  But you will still see me playing occasionally for sure!  Team X has chosen this grid for your stamping enjoyment:

I chose the bottom row across of Gingham, Back to School and Yellow for my creation today, although I have a few more of the elements in there too!

All these images, except for the apple, came from an old Cornish Heritage Farm set called Making the Grade, and it's my go-to set for back-to-school themes!  I stamped the images with Memento Black and colored them in with Blends, then fussy-cut them out.  (The worm was an after-thought!  He looks so cute peeking out from behind the tag, don't you think?)  The apple is an oldie from Papertrey Ink; I stamped it in Real Red, Garden Green and Soft Suede, and then outlined it with a felt-tip pen so that it would "match" the other images.  Finally the sentiment was diecut with a banner die and everything went on a gingham tag:

And here's the inside; the "Happy" is from Biggest Wish and the rest of it is from the same CHF set.  I think I'll tuck a little gift card inside and send this to Cassidy on her first day of school!

I am also entering this at CAS on Sunday, where they want tags!

I hope you'll play along with our grid this week...it's just in time for those fall, back-to-school encouragements notes, not just for the students but for the teachers too!  Can't wait to see what you create...share it over at Tic Tac Toe!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC174 Hello

Hi stampers!  Happy Thursday, where it's Team X's turn to share a Tic Tac Toe board with you!  I chose the middle column down of House, Patterned Paper and Tree/Wood:

My mind automatically turned to the Rings of Love DSP, where this pattern fit the bill perfectly!

Talk about letting the paper do all the work!!!  I did create a wee little tag with the Tailor Made Tag die, and stamped the "hello" from Cottage Wreath in Soft Succulent on it before embellishing it with a little gem, some Old Olive Linen thread, and a couple of fussy-cut trees:

Because the pattern is pretty busy, it's hard to see, but I added some more gems up at the top right for a little sparkle!  It all went on a Soft Seafoam card base.  I left the inside blank, so I can use it for  whatever occasion might arise!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from our Tic Tac Toe board this week!  Share it with us at the TTT blog, and check out what the design team created as well!  Have fun, and thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC172 Warm Wishes

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday and that means it's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's our grid from Betty and Team X for today:

I chose the bottom row across of Watercolor, Bright Colors and Floral.  And here we go, with another Christmas card for the year:

I chose the retired Poinsettia Petals for my florals; I heat embossed them with Versamark, Real Red and Garden Green ink, then watercolored them in before diecutting.

I used the diecuts to create a Diamond Flip fun fold that I first saw on my creative friend Cindy's blog.  You can see her directions here.  Here is the card partially open:

I used some Boughs of Holly and Garden Green DSPs for my layers, and I also embossed the Real Red panel with the Greenery EF, but it's hard to see.  And here's the inside:

I stamped a few holly leaves directly on the DSP, and I will warn you: even though I blotted the ink before closing my card, I still got a little on the sentiment when I closed it.  I added a few more "sprinkles" by flicking my aquapainter with some watered-down GG ink on the rest of the sentiment!  My final addition was some sequins from my stash and a diecut sentiment banner!

I am also entering this at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, where they're looking for watercoloring!

I hope you'll find a fun Tic Tac Toe "recipe" on our grid with which to create something this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at the TTT blog!  Thanks for visiting today!

We saw my great-nephew Cole yesterday for the first time!  Cassidy was in heaven:

Once she got the hang of how to hold him close and snuggly, he went right to sleep!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
