IB358 Modern Leaves

Happy Tuesday, all!  Wow, fall has fallen here in SE PA! The wind is blowin' and the leaves are goin'--right off the trees!  My card today features leaves, but in a bit of a mod way, taking a hint from the Inspired By challenge this week!  I used both the inspiration and the sketch:

I didn't have quite the exact colors of the inspiration photo, but I pulled out some that were similar, as well as a stamp & die set from The Stamp Market.  Here we go:

I diecut some strips from Basic Gray, Basic White, Basic  Beige, Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride, then diecut and stamped some leave as well.  I also diecut some leafy branches from the Dainty Delight dies as well as punched out a few 1/2" circles and arranged them all together:

Sentiments from Everyday Greetings went on the front and the inside, along with another stamped leaf:

This is defintely out of my comfort zone, style-wise, but I like the modern look to it!

The kids went to Minnesota this past weekend with some of Wayne's family to watch the Vikings/Eagles game!  The Eagles won and I think they all had a great time!

That stadium is amazing!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Christmas Wishes

Happy gray, icky Tuesday, everyone!  I had a hard time getting started today! But I really wanted to do some stamping, so I checked out a few challenges and came up with a Christmas card in sort of non-traditional colors:

The Peace on Earth challenge has some lovely inspiration photos for us, and the Jingle Belles wants to see only cardstock....no DSP!

I took my inspiration from the bottom right inspiration photo of the pink candy canes on the brown package!  I stamped the candy cane from The Stamp Market's Candy Cane Christmas in a combination of Pretty in Pink and Blushing Bride inks, then added a bow, some glittery holly leaves and some a sentiment on a Crumb Cake diecut panel:

The Every Day Details dies are really fun to use but sometimes all those little dots can get stuck in your die, or on your cutting plate, so here's a couple little tips:  Put a layer of waxed paper between your day and your cardstock.  The "chads" are less likely to stick in the die that way! You may still need a piercing tool to poke out a stubborn one here or there.  Then, use a lint roller to remove all the little dots from your cutting plate!  Works like a charm!

And here's the inside:

Very simple and easy!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC555 Pink Trees!

Happy Tuesday, everyone! My friend Karen sent me a photo of a cool plate and sort of challenged me to make a Christmas card using it as my inspiration!  I took her up on it!  Here's the photo:

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I have a cute little set from the Stamp Market called Tiny Trees Two, and I didn't use it at all this year, so I decided to put it to use on this card!  Here we go:

I diecut and stamped several trees, using Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Bubble Bath, Smoky Slate and Sahara Sand inks and papers, all on a Bubble Bath panel that I lightly dotted with a Petal Pink marker.  I added some snowy hills and a vellum banner on which I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.   The horizontal pieces are some neglected washi tapes.  I diecut one small deer from some gold foil as my embellishment:

Another SSS stamp and a little tree on the inside:

We went to Longwood yesterday; the theme this year is retro Christmas! So fun! I took lots of pictures, but I wanted to show you some of the "pink" themed items that were featured!

These giant Christmas bulb were floating on one of the ponds!

In the music room, a record player and a vintage ceramic Christmas tree:

This tree was loaded with pink, mauve, purple and gold ornaments and the gifts were lavishly decorated as well:

I love these vintage decorations....especially that pink and green bottle brush tree!

The Exhibition hall was just stunning:

I'll post more later!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Be Merry Candy Cane Shaker

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Before I start making my pies, I snuck into my craft room to create another Christmas card...I'll need them for next year!  The Global Design Project had a fun sketch, and the Double D Challenges want to see red and white candy canes!

Yummy!  I haven't used this Stamp Market candy cane image at all this year, so I thought I'd give it some love and make a shaker card.  I must warn you, it's a little busy, so prepare your eyes, LOL:

I used some Rings of Love DSP along with elements of Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride.  The candy cane was stamped in Poppy Parade and I added some Mint Macaron stripes.  Shaker cards are always so challenging to photograph, too! I threw in a bunch of sequins and pearls from my vast stash:

The sentiment is from the same set (Candy Cane Christmas), diecut with a shortened Stylish Shapes die:

And a fun Impression Obsession stamp went on the inside, along with candy canes from Jingle Jingle Jingle and twinkles from Trees for Sale:

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Be Merry

Happy Friday, peeps!  Just a quick card for two challenges today!  The Color Hues challenge wants red and aqua, which is a favorite of mine, and the Christmas Craft Creations wants only two colors!

I pulled out a favorite Stamp Market set and here we go:

I looked through my stash of DSP but didn't have any Coastal Cabana gingham, so I made my own plaid with the retired Buffalo Check.  The sentiment, candy cane and bow are from The Stamp Market's Candy Cane Christmas set; they were all stamped and adhered to a Stylish Shapes square diecut and layered with a Real Red scalloped mat.  I also added a little rhinestone for some bling!

An Impression Obsession stamp finished the inside:

I know it's pretty unadorned, but sometimes that's okay!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

TTT142 Peace

Hi there, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's our grid:

I chose the right column of die cuts, Christmas, and white on white.  And I will tell you that photographing a white-on-white card is a challenge!  Here we go:

I heat embossed the retired Christmas Collage background stamp in Craft White ink and white embossing powder, then mounted it on a piece of silver paper I had in my stash.  I diecut the word "peace" from the same silver paper and mounted it in the open panel at the top right; you can see the embossing a wee bit better here:

On the lower left, I embossed and diecut some white holly leaves and berries and popped them up:

And on the inside, I stamped a sentiment in Silver Encore ink to go with the silver accents on the front.  I really wanted to add some embellishments, but I liked the simplicity of the white, so I left it as it was!

I am also going to enter this at Try Stampin' on Tuesday, which wants us to "Keep it Off Center":

This is such a nice board full of pretty possibilities!  Be sure to check out the Tic Tac Toe blog to see what the other members of Team X came up with, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping by today!

My great-nephew Zion (on John's side) was quite proud of the Lego T-Rex he made on Thanksgiving day!  He's quite a clever little guy:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC136 Ho Ho Ho

Hey peeps! Back again today with a new Team X Tic Tac Toe challenge!  My turn today to fill in the grid and here's what I've come up with:

Oh my, I have SO many Christmas stamps, I don't think I could use them all in a lifetime!  I totally forgot about this big vintage Santa image from Flourishes...it's several years old....but I thought he would like to be remembered, so I pulled him out and went to work, using the right hand column of glitter, die and star:

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the image in Real Red and diecut him with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I mounted him on an Evening Evergreen mat on which I stamped some holly leaves, but they're really not very visible, and then on a Cherry Cobbler card base.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Market, stamped in Soft Succulent.

The glittery stars are from SU glimmer paper from a few years back, punched out with a retired Country Star punch.  The inside sentiment is from Papertrey:

I hope this grid prompts you to get started on your Christmas cards if you haven't already!  It's only a couple of months away!  Share your creation with us at Tic Tac Toe--can't wait to see it!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB169 Anything Goes

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge, where we give some love to our older stamps!  Today our challenge is "Anything Goes"!!!

I chose to make a clean-and-simple Christmas card using the CAS Christmas Challenge colors of gray and red:

So here we go:

I used some Stamp Market stamps from around 2018 called Candy Cane Christmas, along with a snowflake folder and the Tailor Made Tags die, stamped in Real Red and Smoky Slate.  I added a Smoky Slate second tag, stamped with some white craft ink, and a "bow" of silver glimmer paper!

I love these colors together!  I hope you'll play with our Retro Rubber challenge this week....just make sure that your stamps are at least a year old and tell us their age!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Dana won tickets to a hemp farm hemp maze....sounds interesting, right?  I need to research the farm to see exactly what they do, but they had a lot of fun there. Cassidy took her friend Chloe, and they got to see buffalo (or maybe they're bison, not sure!!!) that were fed pumpkins (the seeds help them with parasites) while on the hay ride (along with someone's pet dog!):

Then on to the hemp maze:

And of course there were the usual countryside insects as well:

I'll share some more pix tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!
